Yahoo! What a thoroughly entertaining chapter!

Seeing Sanji do his thing is so good! Seeing the reactions from the other chefs regarding his cooking skills is so good! Pudding reacting to everything is so good! Pudding with the finger and leading the chefs in 1 by 1 to manipulate their memories was hilarious to me!

One thing I have always loved about One Piece is how supporting characters react in awe of the Straw Hat Pirates. We knew Sanji was going to cook for Big Mom the moment we understood he was taken by her crew and I have been anticipating these reactions since Zou. These types of moments are so satisfying for me that I can't imagine a long time reader still being disappointed because Sanji is cooking to save the day. If you still are you are a booty head. There I said it.

And boy only Oda can make something as goofy looking as a Sesame Street puppet look absolutely terrifying! The wave, Katakuri, Brûlée and the cheese siblings, things look dire and man is it exciting! I mean we know they will make it out but how? When's the last time Luffy got pushed like this?!

Oh and the bathroom! Look at those tooth brushes! Count em! Count em! Do they all share that room or do the boys have their on bathroom? Who doesn't use a tooth brush?

I hope Jimmy is going to do a similar thing to Luffy and leave the ship to deal with an imminent threat that no one else can.
The strongest fishman karate master in the world, capable of manipulating water, will surely not let a ship get crushed by a wave, even if it is BM´s homie.

Anyway, I didn´t really like the chapter as much as some of the previous ones.
The cover story of a "female" physically abusing her husbands is not very funny.
8 pages of the cake…stuff. There is almost no feel of urgency there. BM has not caused any real civilian damage yet during her current tantrum, so it´s just danger talk. Somebody even managed to semi-faint a couple of times.
6 pages of Luffy getting treated like trash, again. That hurts. I also wonder how the BM fleet has caught up to Sunny the supership with Jimmy as helmsman and Nami as navigator after they got a clean headstart earlier.
The last double-spread was very good though.

I wonder what would´ve happened if Sanji was still with the crew, maybe he could counter Perospero´s candy with his fire, Jimmy could deal with BM´s foothold and Pedro would still be alive.

Last week I was saying the crew never required someone to be really good at steering and Jinbe ability as a helmsman would just be an unneeded bonus to something the crew was already managing to do just fine. Now is the perfect opportunity for him to show god-like skills at the helm to keep the Sunny safe from that tsunami, so I hope we can see some of that in the next chapter.

As for Luffy's side, I seriously hope he doesn't win because some water entered through the mirrors. He already defeated a Sweet Commander with help from outside sources (again, water. What's with you BMP? Do you even bathe?) and in the next arc he will be going after a Yonkou itself. Now is the time for him to be able to take a Yonkou top officer by his own

Pretty safe bet that Jinbe will use a similar technique to the one that the Arlong Pirates used to sink Purpurin's ship to stop the Tsunami. It would be a little incredulous even for him if he used Fishman Karate to stop it.

Coup de Burst would give them, what, 2 seconds more? It shouldn't be able to take them out of the trajectory of a wave that big even if it was a "normal" one, much less a sentient one that can pursue them.

Katakuri deserves a long buildup and hype, it would totally ruin his character if he's going to cough blood in next chapter or so. Cracker was completely different situation, arrogant asshole who's only purpose was to exist as a showcase of Luffys strength.

Rob Lucci looked more unbeatable when Luffy fought him the first time. We know Luffy is not even using g4 until he's fighting at 100% you really can't make a statement such as this.
If Oda truly wanted to communicate that Luffy isn't at Katakuris level he'd depict Boundman getting stomped, but he's not.

Jinbe and the sun pirates will save the sunny from that wave. He either sensed the upcoming wave in this chapter or he noticed his old Crew is still around. IDK if Wadatsumi is still there too. He could lift the sunny, so the wave cannot crush it.

Looking at Cracker, Katakuri and in a way Jack. I can't help but laugh over and over again when I remember those days I use to debate with some people here. They describe Burgess strength as overwhelming because he's a "Yonkou Commander" something that I disagree with saying Burgess is average at this level. I wish I could chat with those posters now.

This fight has a lot in common with Doflamingo vs Luffy.

Now I think that current fight against Katakuri will make us appreciate Gear Fourth again. Doflamingo had ability to patch himself up with his strings. Cracker had his ultra hard defences with infinite biscuit soldiers and now against Katakuri it will be raw power vs raw power in direct 1 vs 1 where they need to exchange direct blows.

Doffy had strings, Cracker had soldiers and now we will see direct exchange. I come to think that those two will be equal when Luffy will get into Gear fourth and I really expect this fight to end with Luffy doing his version of Bellamys ultimate move that we seen on Dressrosa and he will crush-heavily wound Katakuri and escape. Not giving him white eyes KO but rendering him unable to go after Luffy, our rubber man would also score a win in a way.

I like the touch of Pudding cuffing Chiffon as a ruse against the Totland citizens. I thought that Oda would skip dealing with what the populace would think about teaming up with the Straw Hats and Firetank Pirates, but he tackled it quick and well. It got in a good segue for Pudding's memory powers to become relevant. Now we just need a situation to come up that compels her to read Streussen's memories and learn what happened on Linlin's fifth birthday since he was the sole witness. I expect Stussy to be intertwined as well since Carmel made deals with CP0 over fifty years ago.

Chef Pudding looks like Smoothie to me. Her gags have been growing on me to be a bit funny even if I have been critical of her character.

Big Mom summoning an ocean Homie is awesome. I don't care about the Intricacies of Devil Fruits being weak to sea salt, this is cool. However, that face looks really generic. I know that sounds very nitpicky, but I think that a big and crazy Majora's Moon-esque face like the one Prometheus had when he incinerated King Baum would havd looked much more memorably intimidating.

I don't want Luffy to use sea water entering the Mirror World to beat or stalemate Katakuri. He needed a water crutch against Cracker, and recycling that for this fight too (especially when this also happened with Crocodile) underwhelmingly goes against how Katakuri is an excellent stepping stone of growth for Luffy before fighting Kaido in Wano Country. I like how creepy Katakuri's multiple mochi limbs look, and hearing him cre about his younger siblings is a cute minor personality trait.

It may not occur like we were expecting, but Sanji's line about his "Offensive Cooking" and whatever his special ingredient is piques my interest. Plenty of time is available for a twist to occur

It won't be an asspull. Why is Katakuri struggling to defeat Luffy all this time? This is the situation time and time again, they can't beat him. Aokiji and the poison guy at Impel down are the ones that have truly taken Luffy to a state where he can't move again. If Katakuri is serious about killing him, then beat the hell out of Luffy.

I think you are underestimating Katakuri, he isn't going all out to defeat Luffy. He is trying to incapacitate him without killing him however, he doesn't know how much damage Luffy can take. Katakuri even said he needs to stop him before he becomes a problem for BM. Aokiji and Magellan wanted to destroy him plain and simple, Katakuri hasn't even gotten serious yet and you think Luffy can take him?

That reminds me how people were crying about Sanji's loss of relevance post-time-skip and even thought Oda started hating him, while completely ignoring his negligence of Brook (until WCI), Nami (again, until WCI), Robin and Chopper himself. Shows you something about popularity of Chopper in the west vs Japan (and also about how much screen time and "epic" scenes Sanji had pre-time-skip compared to others).

For some reason I think the tsunami will be handled in 1 of 2 ways. First is nami navigating skills and ship's gaion cannon(spl?) To break it into a small enough wave for the ship to navigate across.
Or the 2nd, this eerily reminds me of just before Aokiji freezing the monster waves at the war. I could see him doing that here, saying something like he was napping when that appeared and then with the I have a msg from Smoker but nvm.
Either way I doubt SH's get caught by BM. Then I agree with others that Luffy will have a G4th strength battle with KATA. Can't wait for the rest of the chapters.

I don't know maybe it is just me but I don't see the wave being that big of a challenge for them. As someone pointed out in the past the monster trio took out a wave pre-timeskip. I'm sure the weakest or weaker trio should be able to after the timeskip even if Jimbe or carrot weren't there. I would say perhaps Nami embues Carrots gloves with lightning and she punches the wave electrocuting big mom and Perospero. Obviously they are going to get away however, it looks like the battle will shift back to land throwing off Sanji's time table on applying the decorations. I really enjoyed all the praise Sanji was getting on being such an amazing cook, I'm sure Sanji fans would like more but I was happy with it.

It's not just a matter of power and speed because even when Luffy manages to hit Katakuri, his attacks just go through his body without causing any damage. Right now, Luffy has to first find a way to actually hurt Katakuri before trying to do so and I am pretty sure that's why he is saving Gear 4th for late (I believe Gear 4th is both fast and strong enough to defeat Katakuri, but Luffy is trying to avoid a Cracker scenario, where he used Gear 4th before properly assessing the situation and would have been defeated because of that if it wasn't for Nami's convenient appearance).

If the theory of Katakuri being a dwarf in a mochi's body is right, I assume water going through the mirror could be used just to expose that. It would hit Katakuri, dissolving his fake body momentarily just so Luffy could understand the situation and then think of a plan to defeat him.

The problem with that is introducing him in the story would really diminish the tension and tip the battle in the SH favor.

It is weird but I keep thinking Katakuri is trying to get Luffy alone to train or push him past his limits. Saying for Brule to take the soldiers away and go to the Sunny and burn it down. I'm sure if he wanted to he could really incapacitate Luffy, but it just seems like he is holding back.

Why is the lie of a marriage between Pudding and Sanji so adorable, especially their dynamic in how they react to each other?

So the cake plan is finally set into motion. Knowing Sanji's in his element and will conjure up a killer cake that'll give Yukihira Soma a run for his money is probably a cooler showcase for his abilities than him fighting to the death, but three hours is basically a lifetime considering the situation Luffy and the rest are in.

A giant wave, I see. Whether through surfing or manipulation, me and Romance is gonna have to share that "yabadadoo!" for Jinbei next chapter.

Also it is 99% unlikely but with care that Katakuri showed for his siblings(if it was not his sarcasm or anything, almost certainly was not) maybe he really aims to measure if Luffy has potential to take down Big Mom as she is clearly shown killing some of his brothers and might end up killing Perospero. Seeing if it is worth to let him live and see what future might bring.

Clearly I prefer Katakuri just being sadist and beating Luffy to death without going all out from start as currently there is no need for it. Luffy is clearly loosing so why go all out/ all serious - no real reason for it.

Katakuri is not the first born. He is second. Perospero is first. And we don't even know if Streussen is the first father, especially since he was probably in his twenties when he met Linlin when she was five.

I think that bullets didnt went through. Will check later on panels but I remember that Katakuri stopped bullets alike to Luffy and then they poped out from front of his face(same way they went into head).

I thought it was because Katakuri's haki was stronger than Luffy's so he is able to avoid taking damage. However knowing where the punches are going makes them easy to avoid.

I thought I remembered some of the details wrong. Fair enough.

I know it's going to come up so just so everyone is clear water doesn't negate most fruit abilities. Still or bodies of water(not rain or a little splash) will weaken the user and basically make them really lathargic to the point that they will barely be able to move.

Water prevents Croc from dissolving into sand, it dissolves Katikuri's mochi, and surely hurts Ace and Akainu.

Water does not prevent the effects of a devils fruit. Here is a list to remember:

1- White Beard quakes through the ocean causing the tidal waves.
2- Aokiji freezing the ocean.
3- Luffy stretching his neck while underwater at Arlong Park.
4- Robin summoning giant hands underwater(weakening her but not preventing her) to keep the Sunny from bashing into rocks.
5- Luffy using Elephant Gun underwater outside of his bubble(weakening him, not preventing him).
7- Robin and Luffy reaching with an arm and eye to catch Usopp in the White Sea.
8- Kizaru's lasers shooting through the ocean.

And the river may be juice but much of it is composed of water. If Jimbei can manipulate water in the air, in the human body, and in a pot of tea, he can manipulate the water in juice.
