I DID IT!
I spent many attempts changing my strategies (to the point where I could clear out the hero and sorcerer room with ease each time), until I settled on tonics, elixirs, concoctions, and a revised version of my Hard mode strait:
-whoever got hexed (Percy and Gazak) blocked the top stairs
-Felicia and Elise swapped Freeze/Enfeeble/Physic staves for help
-Izana and Rallyman buffed
-Leo(+Niles) and Beruka(+Kaze) did chip damage
-Corrin(+Xander) and Velouria(+Camilla) were in the front to tank the general/berserker onslaught. Even if I used Xander, I couldn't escape Beast Damage, but Velouria's defense was 40+ with the beastrune, so I went it with.
Slowly but surely, the pack got whittled down, with the leads drinking potions whenever their health was too low (and Physic only had 3 charges). After the initial storm, I entraped Hans and killed him with Kaze's replica. Then the reinforcements and Hans' generals came in for Tanking Round 2. Freeze/Enfeeble took down them a notch, with Leo doing a lot more chip damage. Throw in some nice crits and DFs, and the light….!
Xander got entraped by the second maid but the Stoneborn didn't move, so it was cool. Anna and Niles took down Iago, scored the treasure....I feel good.
I see chapter 27 throws in an extra death soldier...but it's still cake compared to the endgame. I need Corrin to get A rank swords to use the Brave Sword, so I could always chip on the boss. Orrr....I guess I could give Siegbert's paralogue another try?
As for the endgame strait, I have two Rescues and one Entrap left, and a Boots on standby.
@zeltrax225:
I did it! It's not as rewarding on Casual but hey, I managed to pull through somehow without a death.
Like you suggested, I placed two tanks (Effie and Bennie) on the hordes and even then those sly things uses their illusion to bypass me.
The solution is to lure them in, risk a devastating amount of HP and hope to god RNG don't kick in, before slaughtering them the next turn.
Beast Slayer does a lot of the work. I equipped Silas with it and while there is no double, he get really clean hits.
Good job! Now get ready for chapter 20, as it requires a lot of careful positioning and patience.
Xander on this map turns out to be a surprise mainly because he's not so useful but he makes good foxbait.
Yeah even with effective damage he can take some punishment.
