General Fire Emblem Thread - At Least Mario Got a Funeral
-
-
Fuck yeah, I see Bartre.
-
Bless whoever made the decisions for this game, cause holy shit, they recognize that people love characters outside of the Lords.
-
Remember to vote for
WendyGWENDOLYN the GLORIOUS armored knightshe's going places
-
See them include even the merchant in this one, and then the lord-fest is in warriors.
-
I wonder how playing as Almedha would work exactly.
-
I'm not even mad about the mobile game. It seems like the bare minimum gameplay needed to hold my interest for a bit, why couldn't Kancolle strive for at least this simple level of interactivity?
-
I was surprised to see Ursula of all people as an enemy unit
hopefully that means we'll get to see other good one-off bosses like Denning and Cervantes -
-
I need way more than a vote a day. Too many characters.
In the meantime, combo of Lyn and Nephenee votes.
-
Nephenee is probably going to be my next vote.
I'm curious: It's possible to double up votes for characters who are in more than one game (ie Caeda in FE1 and FE3 or Nephenee in PoR and RD). I have to assume the votes merge together and (perhaps) double votes don't count.
-
This is fine, considering I use "Miledy" for my personal perference. I get why "Milady" would work, but it's too on the nose.

@Cyan:
You think you can stand up to Batta the Beast?!
Only Glass the Peerless Swordsman could possibly do so.
Even the gods fear his blade!

Glad that they're releasing the Switch and 3DS versions of Fire Emblem Warriors at the same time so you don't repeat the awkward situation with Hyrule Warriors where the 3DS port had more content than the console version. Plus, looks like they're releasing it as only a New 3DS game rather than having it barely playable on the regular 3DS like with Legends.
The mobile game looks fine for a mobile game, and I'm actually really happy for the Gaiden remake if only because it practically guarantees remakes for 4 and 5 down the line. It's a nice bonus I wasn't expecting and it's not mistakenly bring treated as a main entry like they did with the two DS remakes.
It's great that Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo's main franchises now, just a few years ago it was on the brink of death.
-
Just saw the direct. That was one of the best directs we had in a while, rather impressed at how quick to the point it was and how pretty much everything is awesome news. Don't know if I'll be investing on Echoes, but Heroes definitely has me hyped up and if the Switch game comes close to what PoR and RD were, then I'll definitely go for that. Fire Emblem Warriors actually coming out this year was also a huge surprise for some reason, I guess I had assumed it'd happen next year, but nooope, instead more switch games for this year.
Also I like how thorough they were in explaining everything about Heroes, makes it clear how Nintendo is approaching this mobile game business, and I like it. Kinda wish they had allowed for custom avatars on this one again, so I could party with my favorite characters, but what they have is great too. Noticed that Nino, Beruka, and I think Florina are all in, and Lyn is very obviously in there, so I'll probably shift focus in full towards Nephenee and get my namesake in there.
-
Speculation's going around that the Echoes part of the title indicates a new subline for remakes.
I eagerly await Fire Emblem Echoes: Sigurd Dies In the Middle and Fire Emblem Echoes: Prepare to Die Edition.

So I have until May to finish Revelations(stopped at Mission 17) which I never did because I overdosed on FE hard. Not sure if I'm ready. 2018 for FE Switch makes me super curious though.
Hope they don't force the child mechanic in Switch FE again I feel like you can have other fun systems build on relationship building without going down the children route.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Maybe We'll Release This Internationally This Time. No Guarantees

Fire Emblem Echoes: Even More Shadows of Valentia

Jesus, Nintendo, my 3DS can only handle so many games!*
I don't really know much about Gaiden beyond Cyan's ragging on it, but what the hey, I'll gladly contribute to the franchise's renaissance. I don't have any interest in the mobile game personally, but it does look pretty good and smartly-designed for one. The presence of English voice acting surprised me quite a bit, especially given the literal legion of characters this thing has to have. …course, I also found myself wondering "why is Lucina losing a fight with a weedwacker?" before going "Oh. Right." and moving on.
*actually it can handle as many as they'd like. My backlog tho…
-
It says a lot that with a Final Fantasy-style spell system, a byzantine class system, random encounters, and incredibly sparse map the design, the thing about Gaiden that baffles me the most is that you never get an axe user.
-
If they're revamping the story, might as well include a guest appearance:
Fire Emblem Echoes: The Shadow of Hector
-
Having only played Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates, I have no idea who Hector is.

Lol .
He's one of the lords from that one Fire Emblem game we got for the GBA that had no subtitle.
-
He's the sole axe-wielding Lord in the series, one of the tankiest motherfuckers in FE7, and has the personality of Ike crossed with Ephraim. Hector is the closest thing you'll get to having a true General be one of your Lords (before multiclassing, obviously).
Requisite Awkward Zombie comic:
-
Hahaha, I love Awkward Zombie.
Damn, what a shame I never played him. He does look like a hulkier, cooler Ephraim.
-
Having only played Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates, I have no idea who Hector is.
Obligatory "Play Fire Emblem 7" comment.
-
Satsuki, I highly recommend FE7 as well.
Also, time to plug some Mangs:
-
Current goal: Beat Fire Emblem 3 before May. Probably will make it pretty easily. I already beat Book 1 as my rep for beating Fire Emblem 1 (I couldn't do the NES version, oh my god).
Don't forget to vote tonight for your next character!
-
Only watched the direct now:
- What is that song? Omg, it's so… I can't concentrate on anything whenever it plays, I just start smiling half amused, half embarrassed.
- I am genuinely interested in Echoes. I thought my days as a fan of the franchise had come to an end, so I am happy to see I can be excited with a new title.
- Heroes, huh!? Well, I don't have to pay to play this one, so I am more open to whatever. So far, Legault is nowhere to be found, that's sad... but on the other hand: NARCIAN!!! that was unexpected!
- Heroes' trailer seem incredibly long, though. Did they really need to go into so many details on the trailer? I mean... The guy's obsession with Lon'qu was funny, though.
- The varying art styles in the artwork is something that will probably keep me from enjoying the game more.
-
Echoes won't have dual audio btw.

Rip Pirate DIO. :P
I personally don't mind at all. It's nice to have but of the (now five) FE games with voice acting, only Awakening has it. Got a lot of people salty when Fates was confirmed to not have it.
-
I cannot wait to hear Marty's dulcet tones.
-
I hope they give Nephenee a thick midwestern accent
like Coach Z levels of inscrutable -
Nephenee canonically sounds like Dolly Parton.
-
I always imagined Patrick Seitz voicing Bartre.
-
Brom is voiced by John Goodman.
Hector is Patrick Warburton.
-
-
@Cyan:
Brom is voiced by John Goodman.
Hector is Patrick Warburton.
Hector's too fiery for Warburton. I'd rather have him voiced by Tom Hardy. Warburton can take Oswin or Rennac.
-
Satsuki, I highly recommend FE7 as well.
Also, time to plug some Mangs:
Which one is 7?
And how did I miss that this is going to be on 3DS? Just when I'm finishing Fates, I get another one. Yay!
Echoes won't have dual audio btw.
