Wow. That season finale. I need to rewatch the season cause the time jumping is harder to keep track of week to week.

God damn. I just wish more of the awesomeness of the last 3 episodes had been building up in the earlier episodes. There was too much cryptic stalling for time. In season 1 it wasn't so blatant. This time I was enjoying the show but there wasn't enough of what was really going on underneath in the earlier episodes.
I am not gonna lie though, I didnt think the finaly overall was truly great. I felt zero tension for any of the characters.
! Everytime characters would die I just went ''meh''. I simply didnt care for the drama in this episode, felt overly forced. I teared up during Lee's speach with maeve when she was on the table, but when he died here I didn't feel anything.
! And there was to much time fuckery and memory mumbo jumbo not working properly with Bernard he entire season only for it to turn out to be very simple by the end. Dolores and some other hosts she saved escaped, the end. Still confused about that William after credits cliffhanger though and the timeline of it etc.
! Dolores did shoot the host data with that satelline gun though, so where did they went?
The body that was built in season one in Fords secret lab, where is it, who is it?
Is Stubbs a host who Ford had getting killed by Akechatas men in season 1 when they grabbed him, and he was the body getting built where Theresa died? -
William's whole thing was infuriatingly pointless. There should have been at least an episode of him and Dolores together, comparing their world views.

Biggest wish for season 3: STOP WITH THE CRYPTIC BULLSHIT. All this timeline and memory jumping needs to go away and make way for some good storytelling that doesn't rely on simply trying to confuse us till the last 2 or 3 episodes.
Less LOST, more character drama ala breaking bad with of course the sci fi mixed in. Make me care more for these people, cause I am still not emotionally attached to them really.
A lot of great info:

After the season finale all I can really say is "eh." S2 was a real letdown plot-wise. It had its isolated moments but that's it.
-
My conclusion is meh. The "revelations" were ideas watcher know and the twist while interesting was dragged to long and robbed of his strength by a gimmick that was unecessary. I feel like the show did the equivalent of a student pulling an all nighter to get a C. It's not bad but was it worth all the decorum?
I'm not opposed to human are programs. I'm just not sure why it is such a big deal. And if the point is that the host are the only ones with free will because they are the only that can change I find that it was portrayed poorly both by Sizemore(the writer) and by Teddy(that always went back to his core).
I think making season 3 is a bad idea. Season 1 was great with Dolores travel and seeing the process of awekening and seeing the progress of different character only to realize how long of a process it is. But once it was done the second was stupidely a mess spouting ideas most people that watch the show already understand(even if they don't agree) and treated as grand revelation. Season 3 would be even worst of a drag with a less interesting premise.

Westworld is the new Lost with more graphic violence and slurs.
I'm pretty sure they have no idea what they're doing, and they'll just keep adding mysteries and mysteries to make it look deep and you know, very pHiLosOphiCal.
"A TVshow for smart people"I wish they'll feature Zuck as a host in one of their episodes. Or Elon Musk, or one of the crackpot transhumanists from Google. But Zuckerberg is fine

I wasn't liking the second season until somewhere around episode 6. I think it was putting the questions that backed the first season (nature of reality/consciousness) into the second row and focusing too much on showing a convoluted Lost-like plot filled with turnarounds + cool action sequences I seriously couldn't care about.
Thankfully from episode 7 on things were back on track fast and strong and the season finale… I just loved it (just one of another thing I disliked, but not enough to have any significant weight)! To be fair, I don't even want a third season, I don't particularly care for the questions left open and I think these final episodes would be a great conclusion for this show on par with the amazing first season.

That episode was better than the entirety of season 2
I watched it cause I had literally nothing better to do due to the confinement
-
I didn't know Vincent Cassel had been casted for the show
Anyway, this series is still going no where…
-
I'm liking this season more than 2. At least it feels they are trying to make episodes entertaining not just just trying to trick the viewer.
And I like Maeve.

Well, this could be the perfect series finale. Sure this season 3 deviated a lot from the tone set on season 1 and retrieved on the second half of season 2, but it turned out greatly nonetheless. With the exception of that "Genre" episode, it was a great season, some serious GitS vibes going on.
I was going to say they will probably going to ruin it with a bad fourth season, but I was also ready for season 3 to do that as well after season 2 managed to pick itself up from that horrid Lost-esque mess it became, and here I am, proven wrong. -
This season could have really benefited from the full 10 episodes. The first three episodes were ultimately a slow build where things were moderately entertaining but nothing of consequence happened. Then the last five were a rushed mess where it was totally unclear when things were actually important. Not to mention the huge number of completely superfluous character plots (namely Bernard and William, who were almost completely inessential).
The complete shift in Dolores's perspective should have been a major focus of the season, rather than her just always knowing what she's doing and getting in endless gunfights with random mooks.
-
This was a completely garbage season huh.
The writers tease some interesting perspectives and questions but are apparently too scared or too incompetent to follow through on them.
Caleb was a lacklustre character, who added nothing to the plot.
The show never showed us the side of humanity, who like Serac, would have fully embraced the life path laid out to them by the giant robot A.I.
After all, not everyone was classified as being degenerate low lifes. And the ones that are(Caleb and his Posse) commit crimes all the time because an App told them to.
Caleb knows the app is used for assasination jobs, drug dealing, slave trading and all other kinds of slimy shit. Yet he still engages with it. And is then mad that the computer predicted that he would end up killing himself on the pier.
What a load of unnuanced bullshit.
-
The Genre episode was super random. What was the point in that other to try some different music an lightning?
I did wonder about how much Caleb mattered in the end. Cause Maeve could have done his role for the most part. But they needed a bonafide human I guess. But he has no idea what he's doing and is having a host lead him around…
The Man In Black resolution was kinda funny to me. Just pure slap you in the face obvious irony. But now I'm wondering. When we saw William a season or two ago wasn't he in a weird overly sandy spot. Was that this host?
They did another time jump...I guess I'm curious how much time passed and what Bernard learned that apparently took a long ass time.

Honestly, I can't take Aaron Paul seriously after BoJack. I instantly replace him with Todd whenever he starts talking, so that character was ruined for me before he even had a chance.
-
I still love Aaron Paul. I even liked his character in The Path. He has a believable devastated face.
