@Silver:
Also, as far as light taps go, she did put the kid's arm in a sling.
See, I saw the same thing with Bubbled. I didn't think it earned having the song at the end.
I mean the animation of the tap, they showed her be barely even touched while if there was more force like someone running into her it would have seemed more appropriate if still overeacting, they also breezed past the kids reaction so the impact of what she done didnt really register that much IMO. I mean it's PG so they could have shown him in a bit more pain without it changing connies character cause his arm was still broke.
The bubbled one felt okay to me as it was more of an instrumental in how they overlaid it and the gems were looking for steven who got blasted into space for what felt like a relatively long time. It also being a season finale.

@Daz:
I'm not even sure how a "homeworld-arc" would work. The series has never gone beyond three episodes of direct continuity, and has always been solidly grounded in Beach City, and character-centric """"filler"""" episodes. Ditching Beach City for an all-gems all the time Space Adventure would be a radical departure from the shows roots, which I guess can be seen as an argument in favor of doing just that, but it would make Steven Universe a fundamentally different show.
And so far, the laid-back, episodic, non-epic, slow burn of the show is immensely appealing to me.
Beyond just the whole different scenario, Sugar has presented most of the issues one might call as social justice issues as based around homeworld while the citizens of beach city ars ent perfect, most of the social problems are alluded to by homeworld. The fusion between different gems, the class of servant pearls are, bismuth being made to do labor, the lack of choice for gems in choosing their destiny, amethyst being a runt etc, all are influenced by homeworld.
I think it'd also fit the emotional development of steven if he saw these issues in plain daylight and how he would feel about it/try to change it. Most of the times when he's trying to do the right thing he usually is opposed by one or more people but how would it react if most of that world wasnt listening at first, minus maybe some of the underground there, but what if they were had their owm problems too.
There's just so many things rebecca sugar could address with HW that saving everything til the end seems like they are heavily wasting the potential of showing how Flawed our world is with a side by side comparison. There's also the fact that steven overthrowing a corrupt institution via words or swords or both would allow him to surpass him mother, not that he needs to or should feel like he has to but it would a realy nice touch IMO.
I feel there's been way too much buildup for them not to go there if even only for around 3 episodes or so, it would feel to me if, using One Piece as an example…(I dont know if anyone who is reading this is this far so Ill spoil it.)
! It would be like if the reverie was only one or two chapters, or if the crew never went to elbaf, or the story of the true history was saved until the last 10 chapters of the series.
! I could still love the series yet be upset if any of those things happened
