Give me a fucking break.

Fairy Tail Series IV Discussion

-
Not that I'm unhappy to see Natsu jobbing, but that was ridiculous.
-
Man, the author really likes immobilizing every character except for one to do the fighting, huh?

I guess it is somewhat better than it being like bleach? Where kubo cant even be bothered to immobilize the characters, and instead just has them standing off screen doing nothing most of the time during fights, lol. xD
-
Man what an intense
orgasmtorture, poor old Mavis -
Man what an intense
orgasmtorture, poor old MavisAh, she is not alone in enduring these intense orgas…I mean tortures during fights. All the females in FT are in constant pleas...I mean pain when they fight, judging by their expressions. xD
-
Will Gray find another steel ball laid out on the ground?
-
Where is Bucky Barnes in this chapter?
-
Probably we'll never find out how "easy" it was for someone like Gildarts to get cutting-edge mechanical prosthetic arm and leg.
-
Also that forced drama. Gildarts has some funtime with the lowest enemy troops possible but Gray is the only one who can safe Mavis now? Please.
-

So much bs in one chapter, that is enough to make one's hearth turn to darkness.
-
Can't wait to see why Gildarts seems to be absent atm.
Also props to Mangastream. "What's the big idea." "Hold it right there." At least that was funny, between the eyerollingy stuff in this chap.
-
I'm gonna Freeze your ice!!
-
Didn't think it was that bad. Guess I'm finally developing antibodies against all of Fairy Tail's BS writing.
-
I'm laughing my ass off at all the theories that came with this chapter.
"Gray is going to turn evil!!" "Juvia is going to die!!"
Fairy tail fans are the most optimistic fans you'll ever get. -
Optimistic? Nah, just dumb.:ninja:
-
We get it Mashima. They are too strong. You already even brought some of them back. You can't hype they more than you did it. Just give them some nonsense powerup or some Jojo strategy to beat them. Or better yet, make them lose. Because apparently this is what your readers think them want.
-
That overly specific and convenient ability to set-up and pit two characters against each other until one of them dies only gives away fact that none of them will. What does "using the very essence to freeze all" have anything to do with bending people to his will anyway?

They are frozen together?
-
@Bartholemew:
They are frozen together?
Was that a fact you're unsure of, or a new question altogether :ninja:?
The only "icy" part was the restraints. What they do has nothing with "purest ice magic" or whatever since it pretty much forces the restrained to involuntarily obey the users instead of, you know, freezing them to death. Although maybe it's not a complete stretch after all, considering the pinnacle of Natsu's Flame Dragonslayer Magic was to strip people naked via incinerating their clothes harmlessly while melting stones and whatnot at the same time.
-

It was a possible FT-style explanation. Guess I should use more ninja smileys, eh?
Such as Brandish can shrink anything, I guess Invel can freeze anything in any way.
-
I'd find it hilarious if Juvia just turned into water to escape the chains, or boiled herself to melt them, in the next chapter.
Also, I get that Mashima's trying to set up Gray vs. Natsu with Gray's declarations that he's going to kill E.N.D., but it really seems artificial and forced.
-
Or Gray could just momentarily freeze his own heart long enough to be considered "dead" and break free from the imposed rule. But, yeah. Gray's beef with E.N.D. is just badly reinforced at times and seemingly there only to give false impression that it's gonna be Nardo vs Sasgay all over again.
@Bartholemew:

Well, let's just assume he can freeze someone's "freedom" coz spriggans are supposed so absurdly op and on completely different level not even Mavis can resist his ability.
-

I doubt it's possible because Invel just froze her ability to turn into water.
But maybe Gray will surpass Invel at the end by freezing his freezing.
-
Why can´t his chain be destroyed?
Iam damn sure his last final ultra attack will be broken easily, so why doesn´t he use that unbreakable ice there…uhhh. -
The issue is not the strength of the chain, but the mind control.
-
Is this serious on the final arc? I'm not shitposting, I'm just curious.

It's unclear. I don't think Mashima has given any indication that this is it, but with so many long-term plot points being wrapped up, it could be possible. I guess it depends on if Acnologia is dealt with here, and if Lucy getting a new key for Aquarius (and whatever arc that would develop from that) is worth showing.
-

Situational comedy at its best.
- Gray's dad tells him he needs to kill E.N.D.
- Gray thinks E.N.D. is some kind of ultimate evil.
- Natsu is actually E.N.D. and the ultimate evil dude created him to end himself.
What are the odds Gray gets lubed a little by evil demon magic inside him to still want to fight E.N.D even after he realizes it's goddamn Natsu?
This conflict with Juvia will probably be resolved with half measures. Juvia will be hurt and Gray will go bad a little.
-
I bet that Juvia is willing to kill herself for her beloved Gray-sama. Doubt that it'll actually happen though because no good guy dies in FT.

Um… How do I put this....
! She ded.

! That is not going to be reverted in some way, is it.

! Characters' deaths lose all impact when you play the resurrection card all the time.
On the other hand, at least this is a series you can read if you really want 0 drama and happy endings. Except for Simon because eff poor Simon. -

Except for Simon because eff poor Simon.Nah he's going to be brought back when Zeref and Mavis have a wedding and use the ultimate magic to bring back everyone else back to life as a way to dispel his powers that kills everything
Then they all kiss and have babies at 18 then we end with a timeskip with Natsu Lucy children Natcy and Gray Juvia children Gruvia -
Didn't we do this before? Like literally?
Like didn't we already have something where Juvia and Gray had to fight each other to survive?
-
! Hiro is being Lazy by just taking what happen in Rave Master around chapter 129 and changing small bits for whats happening in Fairy Tail.
! Hiro Needs To Fix this by Reviving Juvia Later or reveal Juvia was only near death to break the Ice Lock
! Gray & Juvia deserve Better
! Shock Value Death like this is not good imo -

I don't remember that, but Juvia did fight Meredy with similar thing going on. It's either Meredy mentally connected Juvia with Gray (who was getting his ass handed by Ultear at the time) or to herself to invoke double suicide when needed. It's been so long so I might have jumbled up the details.

-
! I honestly don't expect her to be dead. If this hadn't been pulled twice this arc with people coming back from dead I maybe would have cared more. Sadly this has happened to 2/5 characters I actually like. So expecting Laxus and Happy to die and come back too. Probably not Macao… he'll survive.

Wasn't it Juvia vs Kana during the Fighting Festival arc? Which also ended with Juvia sacrificing herself so Kana could leave.

I can't help but appreciate the irony of the guy thinking 'Have they lost their minds?' when he is the one controlling their minds…
-
Hahaha, no. You are not going to make me believe that, Hiro.
-
Damn that was fun. I genuinely laughed out loud to the panel where Gray stabs himself too.
Mashima revelling himself in the oldest trope in all gloriousness, kill the girlfriend so the guy can defeat the enemy.
-
How many chapters till they bring her back? xD
They will find a way to put the blood and her soul or whatever back, lol.
-
Damn that was fun.
Indeed it was. Guess that wasn't the kind of emotion Mashima wanted us to feel, though.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
How many chapters till they bring her back? xD
I don't think she'll brought back that fast so my guess is 3, er, 2.
-
Wow.
That would be a great and significant moment that would signal a big change in the story.
If it won't be reversed in about 5 chapters because Mashima is a complete pussy when it comes to making hard story choices.
-
@Bartholemew:

2 or 3 chapters huh? Man if mashima is really gonna have this much constraint then you gotta put some respek on his name. That is a long time to leave us all hanging at the edge of our seats.:ninja:
-
That was embarrassingly fitting end for a character who can never shut up about Gray and always revolved around him. I'll take a leap of faith and for once believe that this time, it's going to be for real. After all, Gray is expy of Musica (Rave Master), whose love interest also died albeit in far more noble manner. The inherited power up is also there, so there's that.
…but wait! didn't they both need to flatline for the lock to break?

Nah, the idea was for only Juvia to die so Gray would go to the dark side. So one dying was enough.
