Rather than bemoan the second Brexit I'd like to applaud the Icelandic performance. After conceding a goal three minutes into the match they not only pulled one back two minutes later but also took the lead after another 10 minutes. Talk about Viking mentality. :'D

Edit: Where are my manners, forgetting to mention Italy.

At the start of the tournament virtually no one believed in them or thought they could pose a threat to any team. Silly people (including me), underestimating the Italians at international tournaments. Those fellas love their underdog tag, proving time and again that a well-organised team is worth more than a list of superstars.

Now this is what makes me frustrated. The English media and even the narrators during the game all talk about this result as an embarrassment and the manager has to immediately retire after the game!
It's not like the Icelandic team is just a good team on the highest level right? It's not like they beat The Netherlands home and away and the Cech among others to get to the tournament.
It's not like they didn't loose a single game in the group stages…

It's a good team, no shame in loosing to us England! It is of course a very big moment in our sporting history but it's not such a huge surprise.

Afterwards I read that Iceland developed an excellent working system of professional football trainers. They are that good, and they can beat France. Although I doubt that France, despite being under more pressure to win, has the same field day like England, making a shitload of mistakes on the field.

Also props to Portugal, crushing both my favourites Croatia and Poland in the most slow and agonizing ways.

Poland should've gone for the second goal asap instead of parking the bus after 20 minutes. Given Portugal's questionable defense, it would've been doable alright.

Very entertaining match yesterday, from Wales as well as Belgium. I was rooting for Wales, but Belgium would have made a good winner too. I really, really hope Wales will beat Portugal now, and that Ramsey's suspension for the semi-finals won't hurt their game too much.

Can´t believe what i just saw.
What a penalty shootout, it was just a miracle how Germany finally won a tournament game against Italy.
All in all deserved, after having controlled the game like that and without that penalty present from Boateng, i believe Italy wouldn´t have scored the draw.
Italy deserves all the respect i have , against this team it was a nightmare to win….luckily we have Neuer^^
