Played it for a bit finished the Luffy episode now in the middle of WB episode. It's a good game I enjoy it a lot. I so far have no serious issues I like that everything seems to have a counter in some way.

So, this isn't the typical anime fighter where one can just button mash their way through it seems. I hopped online a few times… barely could get any hits in. CPU is even a bit of a pain. I feel like I actually need to learn what the hell I am doing... which is honestly a good thing.

I totally agree with you. But there are some characters with spammable moves that are difficult to counter when used smartly, I think of Kizaru with his triangle + square guard breaker which will make you fall down and can hit you again and again while you are picking yourself up… Especially when you are near the arena border.

Yes, at first, some battles are really tough, especially to get the S rank to high levels in Wanted poster mode… But once you know how to use characters, it becomes easier. That's what is enjoyable with the game, you can feel your skill increasing and need to train with a character before being able to use it in an optimal way !!!
Yesterday I bought the DLC characters and costumes available on the japanese PSN store. Tried Ace strong world, Law after his arm repairing, messed up Doflamingo, Mr 2 with Nami's face and body and Sabo with his colosseum outfit (before he eat the Mera Mera). Techniques and gameplay are changing, it was really nice to play with them (especially for Doflamingo and Law). And Sanji can't attack this version of Mr 2 ^^
Official website also announced a first balancing update for this month : http://opbb.bn-ent.net/pc/special.html
I didn't read it entirely yet, but we can first see that characters grade will be increased by 500 for all Luffy versions, Sabo, Smoker, Marco, Joz and for Garp support.
It will be decreased for Enel. Everything has been translated in King of Pussy video above ! -
Can anyone who has the game confirm is Custom Soundtrack in the game? Like J-Stars or Being able to play music from PS Media Player
-
I just use Spotify… is that what you mean?

Did anybody get their 3 luffy codes? I guess for those that ordered on amazon, amazon has no idea what is going on. Some have said amazon has said it was a Canada only deal, while others have said it is Namco's fault and to contact them, but when you contact namco, they say it is amazons fault. As for me, I'm still waiting. An amazon rep said it is going to take about 5 days for them to get back to me.
-
Yup. Like I said. Here is a portion of the transcript from my Amazon chat.
03:41 PM PDT Amazon: I can see you're right, the promotional code shows up as requested but never sent out to you but for this don't worry that it is still in our hands.
03:42 PM PDT Amazon: Right now with the order placed and shipped we have enough "proof" of the pre-order taking place for which we'll only need to send over the request to our Marketing and Promotions back office team for them to manually provide the missing codes which won't take more than 24 hours, sounds good?
03:43 PM PDT Me: That sounds great! That was difficult.
-
Amazon told me to wait 5 days to here back from them

I got my Marineford Edition with the huge-ass box and everything, but was I supposed to get any free DLC?

Yeah, 3 Luffy's. They are suppose to email you a code, Amazon or Bamco.

What level are your characters meant to be to do the flag battle mode? I just tried twice with level 3 characters and both times it was really hard and I lost. The enemy characters kill mine in about 5-6 hits at most. I haven't even managed to knock out one enemy yet but even after dozens of unblocked hits, they're still alive.
Here's one example:
!
And another (check out the very brief Zoro part):
!
Another thing I don't get, if I look at the info panel for Weatheria (where I'm attacking) it says that my faction, the SHs, have 85% of something (control?) then the WB Pirates only have 8%, yet it's their territory. So what does that percentage actually mean?
Also, isn't this mode incredibly badly done since most people will pick the SHs and thus they'll steamroll each season?

A high level character will be stronger than a low level one. Level max is 10. You can level up your characters in the Adventure mode, the Wanted poster modes and the flag battle mode. Almost all my characters are level 10 now. And to be verified but I have the feeling that if a crew has a high pourcentage on an island, its fighters will be stronger. But I'm not sure…

Being on the top 3 of one island will give you some points indicated when your cursor is on the island, for example : 80 / 40 / 15. For the flag system and teritory control, I am not sure, maybe it is calculated only one per day depending on the highest pourcentage of each island. Well for this season, strawhats are clearly outnumbered, but you can unlock up to 4 emblems per crew if you fight 30 times under this crew flag. So let's hope that it will balance future seasons…

Got One Piece: Burning Blood - Marineford Edition for PS4
-
Got my Marineford Edition yesterday. I contaced Amazon regarding the pre-order bonus and, as J-Sack said also, I'll have to wait around 24-48 hours for support to contact me with the code.
I'm still hooked on Witcher 3 so I basically bought the game for PSVITA also to try it out on my breaks at work. Gotta say that the PSVITA port is great! Game runs smoothly and looks great for a handheld device. Really happy that the DLC is cross-buy and there's also cross-save for the PS4.
Additionally, the PS4 demo is a pretty bad presentation of the actual game IMO. The controls and mechanics of the game are explained way better in the full game, which makes me think that the demo could've turned off people into buying the game. The game so far has been way better than what I expected after playing the demo.

Does anyone here have advices or tips on beating White Beard extra chapter? I can't beat Aokiji with Jozu, Aokiji is just too strong and one of his combo take out half of Jozu HP :(

lol I'm stuck on that too. I got really close to beating him one time but he got a lucky hit on me. Still haven't figured out how I'll beat him. Maybe leveling up Jozu's character lvl will help?
-
Jozu's heavy guard break is slow but for some reason it's never failed for me after I land a normal guard break.
-
So, I ended up not getting a code… but Amazon took care of me. So I am more than satisfied.

What did they offer you in return? I just got an e-mail from them just saying to wait an additional 24-48 hours. >.>
-
This game is hard for all the wrong reasons. Story enemies being way higher level than your character so you do jack shit damage to them while they can take off 70% of your health in one combo forcing you to cheese them. The story also almost never let you play the game as it's meant to be played. With a team of three characters and with support.
Don't get me started on the disgusting anime screens they use for it. -
Well, if that is how you are playing it…. You can go into other modes and level up your characters so you don't have to cheese it. Cheesing was just your choice.
I found the story to just give me the basics and a focus on using different types of characters.

If you don't hear back within the 48 hours…. call Amazon and be polite. If you are polite, they will help you out.
-
A few people are mentioning not getting codes from Amazon. It seems like it might be a problem at the Bandai Namco level of things. I got my copy from Shopto.net and haven't got my code either. I opened a ticket the other day and yesterday they got back to me and said "the code will be sent out shortly".
-
Will get my marineford edition tomorrow. Can't wait to play the game.

Don't get me started on the disgusting anime screens they use for it.Yes, the story mode is hard in a first phase… But you learn a lot more how to play during hard battles than with easy ones. There is always a way to counter everything, and there are a lot of really good player online that won't let you a chance to breath. Succeeding in the story mode is a very first step and it's not impossible at all ;)

Still doubting if I should buy it or not… I rather play games that have a nice storyline to play through. I'm afraid the storyline of this game is very short?
Also wondering if I should get the regular or the Marine Ford edition. I remember getting the Pirate Warriors 3 Doflamingo edition and coming to the conclusion afterwards that it was not an exclusive figure, but one that can be bought seperately too. How is this with the Marine Ford edition of Burning Blood?

The story is short, but the multilayer stuff is a blast.
The Marineford edition… not worth it. The figure is nice, but not worth the extra money (IMO). The art book is completely worthless. I flipped through a few pages and never looked at it again. It is mainly screens of special moves and art from character/stage select. Nothing not in the game.

im having tons of fun with this game, is rly nice how every character feels like their manga counterpart and is not just true to the source material but also rly fun to play, is soooo much better then ninja storm
-
Is the multiplayer actually fun? Cause I can see it being frustrating as hell, considering this is a fun fighter an not balanced at all. Can opponents just spam you to death?
-
If you don't know what you are doing, yes.
I tried spamming once just to see…. got my ass handed to me.
As for characters being unbalanced... again, it depends on the player. Some characters I can't get a hit on an opponent with will whoop my ass online by skilled players.
-
Just got the game. Better than I expected. The combat is…unique. Not bad, but different enough from other fighting games to offer something new.
The game is very difficult. As someone who's used to fighting games, I was pleasantly annihilated by most enemies. It surprised me, but it was fun all the same.
I haven't tried the online yet. I'm squaring away the story first, and maybe a few wanted posters. -

I really have a lot of fun with multiplayer mode ! Most of the time, spamming can be countered quite easily when you know the characters enough ! For my part, when I'm not playing ranked mode, I only play as random characters, because there is always a way to take advantage of your team, whoever is part of it ! Even Moria has some great combos without spamming the Brick bat attack !
Yesterday, I played with a nice guy, we both took random characters without support, and it was really entertaining !
-
Thx guys, that's good to hear.

Thats what makes the game fun ! No spamming and support but there was a patch to decrease some support times and Preskip Luffy atrocious gatling gun and bullet attacks damage.

Yes and other patch will be coming soon, on page 80 there is a video explaining what will be changed, it will be even more balanced with this.
But the thing I would like to be changed is when people are exiting ranked battles when they are losing… It really upsets me. Please, Spike Chunsoft, if you read my message, can't you consider that someone that disconnect during a fight lost it... XD It happened twice during A rank battles, it's quite unfair...

Rage quit? They already solved that problem. You still get points if someone forfeit the match. Many people have been saying this since the Japanese version.

Well I have the last updated version and I'm playing on the japnese version. I never had this problem in friendly match, but I had this twice in ranked battles, the game freeze at the exact moment the opponent is KOed, I don't know if there are several way to rage quit but I didn't get the points for those match :(
-
I got the game last week, and I've really been enjoying it. I really do wish there was more to the story than it just being an abridged Marineford though.
Pros:
- Certain characters (Franky, Koala, for example) are really fun. I have yet to unlock them all though
- The graphics are fantastic
- Character interactions
- Probably one of the most creative One Piece fighting games yet
Cons:
- Missed opportunity with the story
- Even though there are about 40 characters, there are some that shouldn't have been reduced to support (Rayleigh, for example)
- Difficulty spikes can be sudden
- Easy to spam attacks and combos
-
Does anyone know how to unlock the other Wanted Posters? I've finished all the current ones
-
It's also sad that there are zero costumes you can get in game for free, but that you have to buy as dlc. Hate this practice nowadays. Would it kill them to put at least one alt for each character?
-

…
Go look at Kizaru & Akainu & Aokiji
They have both their Pre-TS & TS Looks as non-DLC Costumes
But yea I kinda wish Spike Chunsoft would give us more costumes but not in the format they did where costumes with no real alteration except for appearance eats up a slot.
I rather have them do the whole "click R1 to switch costume" thing
I am sure people could make a super long list of costumes covering all playable characters but I am not going to do that
-
I'm not really liking the full release but I'm very glad that Eneru is insanely powerful in yet another OP game!
-

You have new posters available every monday, but only a few of them so it will take a while before completing them all :p
@DIO:

TBH, I prefer having more playable characters and less costumes (with 41 playable characters for a first game, it's a really good amount in my opinion, considering that characters have unique gameplays and specificities). Sure, it's a pitty to have topless Law or young WB as DLC as gameplay doesn't change for them. But for Afro Luffy, Ace Strong World, alternate Doflamingo, gameplay is also changing a bit, so it's always nice to have. :)
-
Still gonna wait for a price drop personally, cause base game plus costume dlc just cost too much right now.^^

skill > spam
Ok, something must be added to the equation : Spam + lag > Skill > Spam
In ranked battle, I fought 3 times against the same player. He was really bad, spamming always the same attacks. Problem : because of his connection, I had a 2 seconds lag in the fight and he was spamming Ace Strong World range attack. I killed 2 of his characters in every battle we did but when he started the spamming, it was over. Plus I wasn't able to perform my combos due to the lag.And got 3 other rage quit without getting the points… So quite upset by the game tonight... -_-
-
Well less costumes are annoying since having a selection of alternate costumes for several or every character extends the game's fun factor for me
Cause when a game has no alternate costumes, it bugs me when developers just do Color swap which bores me.
I am not wanting Team Ninja Tier of Alternate Costumes, I just want a reasonable amount of alternate costumes that don't eat up slots like in this game
-

It is almost like in the one piece games we haven't had alternate costumes since the grand battle/ unlimited series. I have no idea why they skipped the costumes. That is something that they could be working on once the game goes gold or they have to send it in for testing, since they have to wait for feedback so they could have been making costumes in that time but I guess not.
Also the one piece burning Blood ad on Hulu is pretty terrible. It just shows the girls in their bathing suits and then says one piece burning blood and that's the end of it. There is no game play. -
im the only one who always get a "matchmaking failed" message ? i need to try like 6-7 times before getting to play

I downloaded the Wanted DLC Pack for the PS4 but instead it shows up on the PS3 Download List as a PSVita add-on and I can't even re-download it to the PS4. Plus, I don't own a Vita or Burning Blood for the Vita. I feel like I spent $15 for nothing. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
EDIT: All I had to do is upload Vita DLC to the PS4. False alarm (Man, I'm so stupid:pouty:)
