Agreed. I really wish that Brandish would have gotten way more screentime. She could have had her own arc where she shrinks down some of FT's members. Serously, just her size-changing magic has enough potential for a very own arc. We could have seen how this shrinking affects everyones abilities and even the most trivial actions become a very big endeavor when small. But hey, instead give us all of these 12 boss characters at the same time without any hype or build-up and just assume we're totally hyped.

Would've been interested to see the entire guild be small and have to coordinate their attacks to hit certain areas to take her down. Heck, Lucy might've been useful because I would assume the summons could come out regular size and do something. The guy with Historia could've fleshed out some smaller characters, showing a little of their history. Maybe even Lisanna could've confronted her raging brother of the past which caused her to disappear. Make each character have more unique powers and build them up to make the dynamics of each fight. Then again, better to just be a terrible series rather than a terrible series trying to copy Jojo.

The more and more we see of Sting and Rogue, the more I realize how much better the series would be without them.

But outside of Sting & co, the chapter was surprisingly decent. Mavis speech was alright, Gajeel is always a plus, and honestly the Happy scene made me smile. Brandish seems to be that one character I just can't help but like, no matter how shitty the series gets. Alas it's only a matter of time before we go back to POWER OF FRIENDSHIP and Natsu punching things. If we go through this whole thing without Natsu punching August I'm going to be very surprised.

Past chapters made them look like they had total defeat they couldn't as much resist being crucified and paraded half-naked across the snow plains. However, this chapter makes it clear that they still had enough strength in them, but couldn't fight back much earlier because Sting sucked at nakama speech.

I don't see a difference between that fight and any of the others. Other than the fact one party was silent for most of the fight, but instead of that meaning less pretentious banter Mayuri stepped it up and started having a smug-off with himself to compensate. That was even the fight that started the trend of vice-captains asspulling convenient overly-specific plot devices to beat the enemy.

It is different from others. It was between two kind of villains, the genius and the sacred evil. It's entertaining thanks to Mayuri's charisma, the formula of the counterattack plus 'wow, it's science' resource make it better than all the other fights.

The other ones are just as you say it, Quincy arc was made in a pit of shit and those are already inside.

I should be excited because of how this particular chapter ended, I really should. Instead I'm just as expressionless as Byakuya usually is. I will say there were a few panels that made me smirk so that was good, but then we just have so much exposition that means absolutely nothing and just attempting to sound like it means something. Only thing now is if we get to Father 5 or 6 we might be able to consider this the final stretch.

Mostly garbage chapter. Orihime being useless and ichigo jumping in without thinking. Yep a total bleach chapter. The exchange between byakuya and ice-fail was superfluous. But fathaers of the year finally show up. So what the fuck were they doing all this time?

Of course Ichigo is going to get outclassed/owned in this inital phase of the fight, some more Bach taunting/goading blah blah. Uryu is struggling against his own opponent as well, so I'm inclined to think Isshin and Ryuken will help their sons out. (Father 2 = 2 dads = fitting cliffhanger imo)

Although yeah, what the heck were they doing all of this time? Especially Ryuken, who has only appeared in the Masaki flashback.

Byakuya's dialog reminded me of his "go; we will finish up here" speech in Hueco Mundo to Ichigo, and that's the cue for Rukia and Renji to rush to Ichigo's aid, although lmao if they're going to do anything but job horribly. Other than that, please end the Gerard fight already Kubo.

First Bleach chapter I've read in ages. Inksplosion is still very much in play it seems.

I liked the speech about what makes up a person. I don't think I really agree with it (I'd have to look at it again, it was a fairly stuffy speech), but it sounded cool enough.

Bach's delirious blabbering would only make sense if Ichigo's greatest power stemmed from his Quincy heritage. Now, If only that stupid hollow antibody shit was an absolute truth, then Bach absorbing Ichigo would end this godforsaken manga beautifully. Bach dies from hollow poisoning and Ichigo dies from being sucked out. Oh, and have Aizen replace Soul King.

I just hope ichigos and ishidas father arriving there means kubo will finally reintroduce the shitbringers and conclude the series within the next 30 father titled chapters. xD Who am I kidding at the end it turns out Aizen is the true last villain and boy oh boy, we get Deicides till we bleed from the eyes.

I also love the Isshin-Masaki love story (well I loved it more when Kubo didn't need to inject Quincies and Bach into the story)

Amazing how little happened in this chapter. Ichigo got off the ground. Renji and Rukia kept walking. Byakuya and Haschwalt monologued about nothing. Ishida said ow.

Both of the previously mentioned characters already had their own character arcs finished, and should be dead or out of commission. Byakuya especially in this since his death would have provided development for Rukia and closure when she defeated As Nodt.

He puts characters like Shinji on the bus in favor of "fan favorites", even if it means sacrificing actual story. I know this isn't exactly new, but if there was an actual reason beyond fan-squealing ratings draw I'd like to know.

The only other guess I would make is that Kubo has admitted to writing more characters when he gets writers block. There's a good chance that he wrote these characters because he couldn't think about much else, then as time went on decided it wasn't worth trying to do anything else with them. We already had a pretty good idea early on who Kubo was going to put more effort into, which is the three that are fighting Thor, so the fact that other characters are put on the back burner isn't surprising. It's just the problem that with so many characters that they all won't be able to shine. Even One Piece can't get that, which despite the length one of Dressrosa's biggest problems is the myriad of characters not having time to develop and shine. Though in Bleach's case things are worse because characters that have been around since the series inception have failed to live up to any of their potential.

I do think Mayuri is one of the most entertaining characters (left) in this series, and part of it is owed to his always unique appearance. And while we do get lolwhat science always finding a path of convience for him, he alone is still preferable to people like Aizen/Bach/etc always pulling a victory no matter what.

Now if he'd stayed a villain, he'd be in my top 5 for sure.
