You think there's no such thing as slime boy hentai?

This was a really good chapter. So no matter what, Ichiryuu was the strongest character so far, and if he "uses" Don Slime power, he would be invincible. I still don't think Acacia is evil, he's totally possessed by the devilish NEO and his thoughts are deranged. Sadly, as I thought chapters ago, Don Slime will fall by the…limbs of NEO because Asarudy is much weaker than Ichiryuu. Interesting, both Ichiryuu and Jirou seems to be stronger than Acacia, with the latter being more dangerous at least.
And Don Slime could obliterate one or two planet with one punch... -
Oh man, i love Don Slime now, and Ichiryuu even more. Don is so freaking adorable, and that part with the DonSly abbreviation is cute, and sad. That demon really loves Ichiryuu.
Toriko's 'secondary' characters never cease to entertain, and i hope the fight betwen Don and Neo would go on for a few chapters. Though, i do think ultimately Don will lose to Neo, heck he could possibly be killed… Because good characters always go so soon ;_;SO this week's chapter is good, next week could be bad lol. Gotta condition my brain for it; it's becoming a running theme for Toriko nowadays.

Don will most likely keep it up until the 4 kings regroup and head to the next area.
-
So…who gave NEO his name?
-
Ah, those RPG references throw you right back into the good old times of Toriko.
Amazing chapter, genuinely felt like it was set up years ago.

-
My money is on Zonge-sama being his previous host
And with Don Slime making those rpg references I suspect that Zonge-sama will be Don Slime's next host
-
My money is on Zonge-sama being his previous host
Zonge might might look like a zombie a bit but he is still alive and they have to die before they get a new host and it said that neo stops them being revived so don slime will not be able to come back until neo is defeated if he is killed.

So…who gave NEO his name?
Names are just names in the Toriko-verse. the Nitro don't even know why Acacia named them Nitro, particularly the "Ni" (two) part of it, but they just rolled with it, so… I guess someone decided NEO sounded cool and they didn't object.

You're the one that said my money is on Zonge-sama being the previous host which means he would have to have died to be the precious host they only leave the body when the host dies which is why don slime had to make do with a weaker host that is not strong enough for him to go all out in a fight with since he was not able to revive Ichiryuu.

English is not my first language so it makes it hard to tell when people are joking around and i thought he was mocking me with the gif he posted lol.

Maybe Don Slime will leave Asarudy's body before being killed, I don't know.

Hi Louis, Perucho, Luffee, Skadi. what's with the limited amount of emoticons on this forum or am I just blind.
Anyways, nice chapter. The relationship between Ichiryuu and Don Slime was great.

Ichi!! Welcome.
Unfortunately you aren't just blind… this forum is horrible for emotes. hardly any to select from.
The flashback was nice but I'm not really feeling this Don Slime vs Neo fight. I'd much rather see what's going on with Midora vs Joa or Jiro vs the Blue Nitro.

I'm still wondering why Ichiryuu let Meteor Spice happen. I still can't fathom the reason why Ichi lost to Midora on purpose and let him wreck the human world like that. I feel like it was explained before and maybe even further explained in this chapter with him not wanting to use Don Slime's power because…it was his way of life and all. That sounds stupid so maybe someone else can explain why Ichiyruu lost and let all those hundreds of thousands and more likely millions of people suffer and die like that.
I mean, when you're talking 25 billion (that's billion with a B) people affected, sure, millions of people dead seem like a small number in comparison but that's still a lot of preventable deaths.
-
Nice chapter
I would like to see more of its flashback
-
It's hilarious how Toriko is alternating between good chapters (backstory and side characters) and terrible chapters (ones with Toriko).

To be fair the only reason Ichiryuu died was because that blue nitro jumped in and killed him so he was not really fighting for his life since i don't think Midora would have killed him since he was just talking to him after he beat him plus i think Ichiryuu was just trying to get Midora to join the good guys instead of killing him.

He didn't lose on purpose. Using slime was never something that was never on the table since to him slime was just the buddy that hang inside him and kept bugging him. He ate like crazy to be in shape to fight him, made preparation in case he failed, prepared his disciples to take over, and had his full course ready the famine could be avoided. Plus the guy he was facing was one of his little brothers he always had a big amount of affection for them and he was trying to convince him to join.
He didn't half-assed the confrontation. He tried his best and failed.

If only what you all were saying were completely true. He literally half-assed the fight by not using the full power he was capable of using and it's the same reason why he died. He didn't use Don Slime when he could have to win the fight.
Eating a lot of delicious food and making a defense network that still left 80% of the world's population vulnerable just so he could stick to his way of life is all well and good until you find out he could have just accomplished as much, but with better results, with Don Slime helping him out.

idk man, I totally see your reasoning, but I'm willing to forgive Ichiryuu not accessing his gourmet demon when part of the fight was an ideological one where Midora was completely consumed by his appetite or hatred (if I get the food metaphor correctly lol).
Anyway I also forgive him for not going all out because that fight didn't make any sense due to the pure level of theoretical abstraction of physics going on lol

Sure, I get that. A major part of the fight was ideological (another part abstract) but another part of the fight was very physical, with physical things on the line, like millions of other people's lives. It was a fight after all. I just think with all that was at stake he should have put his actual all into the fight and incapacitated Midora. Then Midora would have been the one lying down on the ground and Ichiryuu standing over him giving a speech.
Rather than Midora telling Ichi how he's going to rain hell on the Human World and Ichiryuu's response being, 'Oh…people aren't going to die...except from starvation....'
But since Ichiryuu is still one of the best characters in the manga and probably not even he could understand what the hell Midora was doing I can't say I dislike his character for his stubborn decision.

Well I mean he was like "yeah they might suffer a bit from starvation, but hey at least my full course will help'em out."
He probably just wasn't planning on the four kings to take a year and a half to complete his full course.

Neo has a special ability that stops the demons that take hosts from being revived/taking a new host after they die.
They can revive Ichiryuu with center and he will not be weaker even though when Don slime dies to Neo he will not be able to come back of course defeating Neo might release all the demons he ate/killed. -

Speaking of reviving Ichi I believe they're still looking for his soul. Wasn't there some speculation over whether or not he actually died and didn't pull off some Superman Kryptonian coma?

It's been a while since I've read that fight, but wasn't he also surprised just how strong Midora became? He was confident that his truly ridiculous Minority World would achieve a clean victory, with Midora being at his mercy either way (to the brink of death from the ongoing MW, or from the self-inflicted wound).
He didn't anticipate that Midora's tongue traps (can't remember what it was called) could end the fight just like that.So Ichiryu was handicapped in several ways:
- No Don Slime
- Love for his brother
- Underestimating his opponent
- False sense of security due to the preparations he made prior to the fight. He had all the big names on his side to protect the planet, including Setsuno. Sure in the end it wasn't enough, but that's what you get when you underestimate Midora.
It's the combination of the above that let's me swallow it a lot easier.

Slime was never his power. It's not like it was a power that make him great on his young day but decided to seal, he simply never considered Slime as anything but a sidekick. Also as far as he he knows the defense should have hold on(didn't it?) and he planned to turned Midora to his side to fight Neo. Considering how far he went and the number of preparations he made, I find it weird to call it half-assing for an ability he never even used(or considered) in his life.

i think its more that he waiting in the human world near his real body in ghost form not his fake clone body that don slime wanted to revive him with and that he wants to be revived by toriko and the other kings since he knows they can get center.

In a way they were both handicapped because they both loved each other too much to kill one another. Midora let Ichiryuu live because of the love he had for his family, but that didn't stop Midora from using everything he had in him like his Gourmet Cells manifestation to accomplish his goal. Just a few pages back Ichiryuu talks about, 'Stopping Midora at any cost' and, 'This is my most important mission.' Right, so if Midora deemed it wise to use his greatest strengths to succeed in his goals why did Ichiryuu, knowing what Midora's goals were, decide not to do the same on this self-acclaimed all important mission? Well, I already have the answer to that being 'His way of life' but in the face of the destruction of so much of the Human World I see the risks far outweighs the reward.
Even underestimating Midora only cuts him so much slack because, as was shown in the most recent chapter, Don Slime called him out on how he was about to die and that he should exert the power of his Gourmet Cells but Ichiryuu told him to shut it.

It's the power lying within him. He can choose to use it or not. It's very similar to Naruto and the Kyuubi's relationship in 'Naruto'. The latest chapter literally says he wasn't fighting seriously. If he wasn't half-assing it he was definitely unnecessarily putting at risk too many people's lives with very high stakes.
And, yes, the defense held really well but it didn't stop the collapse of over 100 countries's ability to function, economic ruin, famine, starvation, and a disaster thatv affected 80% of the world population which more than certainly led to millions of deaths. But, yeah, when you're talking 32 billion people loss of life was kept to a minimum by Ichiryuu's defense network.
-
No matter how neat the interaction between Slime and Ichiryuu was, it still does not in anyway justify him allowing the human world to almost fall to ruin, simply because using Slime went against his principles
Ichi is a cool character and all, but god damn is that a humongous flaw. Even allowing yourself to die over it. I mean wtf
Acacia Neo face was creepy as shit. Dont know if that was mainly Acacia talking or Neo.

I guess you are right, but you are making a big deal about something we already knew -that Ichiryuu didn't give it all: http://bato.to/reader#144e5db19834c040_6
The reasoning we readers were given for his death has always been "His way of life" ["He was the most galant in a very crude world. Ichiryuu was a man that stuck to his ideals like a raising dragon"]. So now we are just adding that he had a super big trump card he didn't use… in a fight he didn't fight 100% seriously -nor was he going to stop Midora "at any cost", mostly because he refused to even try to kill him.
All in all, just a piece of information that, for me, is a bit of an asspull (all about Don Slime), but that fits perfectly with Ichiryuu's character: utopian. Which, of couse can be seen as stupid, just like most shounen good characters.
Love it, or hate it, but gotta admit it also builds up the stoic and badass side of the character.
-
I was honestly just wondering if a legit better explanation was given somewhere in between that I missed. That was the whole point of my first post on the matter and everything else was just responding to other posts.
Soooo, the answer is I guess not.
-
Oh, now I saw your first post.
Well then, it's still an explanation that went for more than a single chapter and with few [Concepts], so I guess it's really deeply explained by Toriko's standards. The only thing left I could add to this explanation of his utopian ways is the emphasis on trying to make everyone sit together in a dinning table. This goal per se is not compatible with killing Midora or anyone -even if he is trying to kill the rest of humanity-, as the goal includes him as well. :/

I hate Toriko and Komatsu when they're together after they stayed away each other for a long time. It's nice everyone seem collaborative but I think we won't see again Don Slime fight against Neo. I dislike the most that three Acacia's Full Course ingredients were totally skipped.
