Toriko III: It's Over!!

I just realized they look just like ANBU. -
Imagine Komatsu's demon is Frozh's demon will it be a genderbeder when he transforms or what.
And great chapter we got a lot of explanation about the back channel and the spirit world.
-
From a social point of view this whole project is wrong on so many levels. And the Blue Nitro, again; they start to resemble the World Government of Toriko.
-
I really can't understand people who hate manga and anime but go for it anyway just to rage at something. Watching things you always hated just to be angry at it and justifying feeling mad, shows a lot about how society is nowadays.
lol what? Good job you solved the case, Sherlock.

How do you catch a fish travelling as fast as the speed of light (or do they even have to)?

I assume you trap him in the 'no time zone'.

lHow do you catch a fish travelling as fast as the speed of light (or do they even have to)?
It's time you go back reading the big setup from earlier. Just 3 chapters since we returned to Area 6 and it's already paying off, along with establishing some sort of parallelism between this project and the one the Blue Nitro are carrying in the Farthest Kitchen.
-
I assume you trap him in the 'no time zone'.
Well, yeah, I already thought about that but why would ANOTHER travel to the 'No Time Zone'? According to Ji the 'No Time Zone' is only located in the 'World of Souls'.
[hide][/hide]And the 'World of Souls' and 'Back Channel' are two different things.
[hide][/hide]At least when it comes to the flow of time because the flow of time in each one is different. In that regards they're different even if their meaning is the same. How different is what I'm wondering.
So why would ANOTHER who has been shown fully capable of escaping even the most formidable of prey by merely using the 'Back Channel' again and again which this illustration shows how it works well enough…
[hide][/hide]Why would it go deeper into the 'World of Souls'?
Furthermore, trapping ANOTHER in a space he discovered and has experience with like he's entering the backdoor of his house is laughable. Of course it should be hard but the question remains how they're going to pull this off with all their formidable chefs.
Also, correction. Faster than the speed of light.
It's time you go back reading the big setup from earlier. Just 3 chapters since we returned to Area 6 and it's already paying off, along with establishing some sort of parallelism between this project and the one the Blue Nitro are carrying in the Farthest Kitchen.
As unhelpful as this comment was due to the lack of information I'll thank you for responding anyway, but I'm going to have to rate this comment 1/10.

ANOTHER is probably gonna exit the back channel exactly at Komatsu's location fall right into his lap, seeing how he hasn't actually worked for anything in this series at all ever since his food luck was established :P
Nah, it will probably actally take the combined efforts of the five 10-Shell chefs and the human chefs. I would love to see them pulling off some crazy over the top strategy in order to capture it, something that combines all the confusing back channel/soul stuff with real cooking skills!

The myriad of confusing terms thrown out every other chapter can be difficult to follow sometimes but, yes, I hope the chefs show off some great cooking skills in doing whatever they have to do with ANOTHER. When it all comes together we'll see how well Shima can pull it off.

I mean this:
! [/[IMG]http://img.bato.to/comics/2015/09/16/t/read55f91ad8a219b/img000011.png
And on top of the info we got in this chapter, Joa stated ANOTHER is one of those ingredients that would take up to millenias to complete its cooking. Hence why this sort of artificial back channel was given form and a name.
And not surprised Komatsu said that voice felt nostalgic, as it had been said the ability to hear the voice of ingredients is actually food spirits whispering the proper way to cook them. In other words, memories.

I get that time flows slowly in the 'Back Channel' and ANOTHER is a special ingredient that takes time to cook, but seeing as how it's familiar with the 'Back Channel' more than probably most animals I don't see yet how they plan on capturing it. Like I pointed out earlier capturing and cooking are two different things and Komatsu's group was shown to have done both. Now, I'm pretty sure they didn't cook ANOTHER the fish itself but maybe a part of it or something related to it. I'm pretty sure whatever they have to prepare is something closely related to the fish if not on it.

They will catch it with a lure made of Air and stuff :ninja:

You mean <<Stuff>>, the <<Final>> dish of the <<Universe>>, right?
-
I know Slime doesn't give a shit, but how can Jiji who experienced first-hand the enslavement of his Red Nitro fellows can be ok with this? There has to be some extraordinaryly big reason behind to sanction this borderline nazi project.
-
Wait, did the guy let Komatsu cook pair without knowing his credential? That is quite irresponsible.
Komatsu handwaving the mass slavery and exploitation to help Pair was kinda funny as I was genuinely concerned if he understood the concept. But he did cook for Midora, so I guess it's like Sanji cooking for everyone.
So Moon and another are playing cat and mouse. And he has been losing for quite some time it seems. Why would ANOTHER use the back channel if it slows him down(making him vulnerable when he's there)? Anyway Gravity whale is chasing Light speed fish.
That project rivals the nitro one pretty well. They may even be better since their PAIR fruit was about to rip.

I thought so too! This is what I mean with the mood of the whole thing confusing me; we go directly from a Dun Dun DUNNN reveal of slaves being used as fertilizer for the cooking, and Komatsu looking horrified toOMG theres AIR fruits, how awesome, lets go cook them yaaaaaay! I guess Komatsus idea is to just wrap the whole project up quickly, so the slaves are out of a job/not needed as fertilizer? I guess thats one way of saving them, but doesn't really adress the fact that holy fuck what the hell are you guys doing its morally repugnant and shouldn't have been done in the first place
Well see where the Full Course giant cooking project goes, but it kinda feels like the chefs stumbled upon a tunnel leading directly to One Piece

You're talking about the same manga where the guy who killed millions of innocent people without remorse and left the Human World in tatters is now basically allied with the main characters because they all want to eat together.

To be entirely fair, thats a problem I increasingly have with the entire shonen genre. For me, One Piece is currently a countdown to the redemption of a sadistic child drugger and would-be child murdering monster, as well as the redemption of a supervillain who was called "evil from birth" by his own brother, whom he incidentally shot dead along with his own father, on top of sponsoring above child-abducting monster, hosting a slave trading ring, and more.

The Don? I need to catch up on my One Piece.
But anyway I'm going to be blunt and say there's a difference to likability of redeemed characters depending on personality, goals, and actions (past, present, and future). In other words there's a difference between a Sasuke and a Vegeta.
-
To be fair, there're still many who will never forgive Midora for what he did, namely Setsuno and Jirou. Toriko acted smart, he assessed before him was standing a monster of unimaginable sheer strength he could ever hope to defeat.
For me the current situation between the Gourmet Hunters and the Gourmet Corp is akin to a truce. And is going to last as long as NEO is still active.

Toriko III: AIR see what you did it.

Hype! Can't wait for the next chapter. Now, I miss the pacing we had before (Not really).

This isn't anything new. Komatsu was watching people get murdered in the Gourmet Casino and hardly batted an eyelash. Stopping the Soul Trade isn't his job, and he understands the reasons behind why they using slavery and deception to cook the Full Course. He's always been a little more hardened than people give him credit for, and he knows he can finish the project up relatively quick on his own so what's the point in breaking character and getting upset about it now? I'm happy Shima didn't waste pages on a "this is wrong! waaah!" speech that would fall on deaf ears and ultimately lead to nowhere.

No it isn't. Those guys will never be redeemed. Arlong was never redeemed, Krieg was never redeemed, Enel was never redeemed, Rob Lucci was never redeemed and is still a villain, Crocodile was only a tentative ally for a short while, but even he was never redeemed. OP isn't a series where beating someone up = friendship.
Please keep those crack-pot "Monet for next nakama" out of the thread. The OP section already has enough of that nonsense as is.

Poor Kaka, they forgot about her.

Didn't they keep the Four Beast alive just so the 4 Kings could get "stronger", even though mansam or Ichiryu could have easily taken care of it?(Pretty sure Mansam was just chilling in his tower the whole time watching)
Miillions died, and Komatsu ended up saving them all by making a remedy to the crazy poison.

A few corrections in your post.
-
The 4Beast wasn't kept alive; it was revived.
-
Mansam was just chilling until the main body emerged from underground, and he was ready to take the beast down, but someone interfered.
-
While is true Komatsu made the antidote, if not for Tylan, all the poisoned ones would have died before consuming it.

Oh, he was always an asshole? It's one thing to 'be hard' and not show much empathy for others and their plight. It's another thing to downplay slavery and its affect on people as not a problem.
[hide][/hide]No, the problem and darkness in this country is definitely the enslavement and forced labor of its people and those losing hope. Just because there are those who haven't given up and can "live vibrant lives" doesn't mean those things aren't still problems. It doesn't matter if he understands the reason for the slave labor. As if that makes it easier to process somehow. Any reason is a bad reason. Once he understands that his excitement about cooking just comes off as
[hide][/hide]cold. So yeah, he was always like this. Even his cooking of AIR seems more like a desire to cook than free the people in enslavement.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Hold on a minute, the dude wasn't just being strategic. Besides, Toriko has gone up against opponents he probably knew he would die fighting against without much, if any, hesitation before. You think he wouldn't have done that for Komatsu? Nah, the only reason he didn't fight Midora was because the dude let Komatsu go. Not because he was being smart. Then after Midora let Komatsu go Toriko ecstatically proposed the idea of gathering Acacia's Full Course and sharing with him.
And I admit it's pretty hilarious he's talking about in exchange he'll share the Full Course with the Human World to the man who just killed millions in it. Midora even requested Toriko gather up the entire Full Course for him. There is a humor in this situation that I can only describe as Shonen.
-
This is the part where I don't trust Midora and what makes me think he's actually using Toriko to his advantage, only to backstab him afterwards. Because even if Midora is being honest with his words, he's a slave of appetite, he admited that himself. And he'll never share a meal with anyone. And Starjun knows that well.
The strongest man in the world with a bottomless hunger, sharing what is the epitome of all food, GOD? Never.

I really think Komatsu is the one with screwed sense of priorities. Like cooking for Midora when he was the biggest threat around or requiring Toriko to rescue him when he could go free. I mean everyone around is seems to be giving the required gravity to the situation(or at least some level of concern) and just besides him with we have a guy explaining how aweful the situation is and compring the situation to the slavery by the blue nitro. Then Komatsu just hadwave it away while someone is trying to protect the kid. KOmatsu is definetely the one out of touch, wether Shima meant for it or not.

-
I didn't mean it to justify how Komatsu is reacting currently to this flagrant violation of the human rights. But Mitsu did this for a purpose, that's for sure.

'Oh, it's ok if God's need lots of energy?'
-
out on eatmanga before batoto?
-
Yes! I've been waiting for the gourmet knights to get some on panel exposure! Aimaru's supposed to have strength that matches up to Toriko, right? (Or at least, I'm expecting him to be somewhere around there with how hyped he's been).
-
Nono is a badass she won her match. I assume that Teppei didn't make it on time to bring these golden cookware.
-
From the notebook with the recipes that uses humans as ingredients they god ahold of in Gourmet Pyramid, to the mobile artificial beast created by the Blue Nitro sick to Human World for harvest purposes, to the cooking that is taking place in Area 6 and also the cooking that is undergoing in the Farthest Kitchen, in Area 1.
This manga, and especifically, this author never ceases to amaze me with his skills, planning that far ahead and cleverly putting each plot device together.
Also… Nono won her match!! rises fist up high
-
I havent read the whole episode yet but the "Oh, we have been sacrificing millions of humans to get this shit cooked" and the others casually saying "We'll find another way, no problem" really was weird.
-
On the contrary, and inb4 "you are edgy", I'm kinda relieved that they don't bitch and moan about making people into fertilizer. Yeah, it's bad, and Komatsu is trying to change it but it's their way of living, let them do their own thing, unless you got a better idea, which now, they do.
-

This. So much of this.
-
Oh, the pacing is back to normal –- a bit.
-
We thought the Seven Beasts were lead by Moon. We were wrong, these 7 insane creatures are actually opposing the Whale King! This explains a lot the early statement about the balance of Area 6 and that if any of these 7 were to die, the whole area would be thrown in turmoil.
-

I would say it was about as planned out as Dr. Gero being part of the red ribbon army. An open-ended detail that could be reused at any point in the future for almost anything.

There's a major difference between hinting at something and at the same time subtly foreshadow a major purpose for it, and reusing finished plot lines by throwing in characters that were not hinted at all, let alone characters from a manga the arcs of which are unrelated to each other plotwise, unlike Toriko.
