Yeah this ep's animation was a step down, but it still had a few very nice moments. I mean, the first 3 eps killed it in a extremely insane way. I'd be mindblown if they wouldn't slightly dip on an episode eventually. It was still very entertaining, though. Saitama's faces were definitely the highlight.

Another really impressively animated scene this episode, one I feel may get overlooked….was Licenseless Rider getting off his bike to confront the gang. Soooo fluid and that fluidity actually helped sell the joke.
-
That King cameo.
!
-
You think with the pace of the anime, they'll cap off the season with the Boros fight? It would make sense given all the S classes in the opening.
-
It will most certainly be Boros.
Both the pace and the number of eps, which is twelve, check out.
-
That fight will be amazing to see in all it's Madhouse glory.
-
Kinda bummed the camera didn't circle around Saitama like it did in the manga, but the episode was still good regardless.

Yeah that was my only gripe with the episode as well.
That said…The detail on Sonic getting his beanbag punched was amazingly well done lol.

Licensess rider parking his bicicle and rising his fits…

The link to imgur is broken, does anyone knows another site to read OPM? D:

Pretty sure most aggregate sites in general have the chapters (like mangahere, kissmanga, etc…). They got taken off Batoto, though.
-
This episode was a bit of a letdown, at least Sonic part was. Murata set bar stupidly high though with his extremely detailed sonic fight panels but some moments of this episode were rather awesomely animated like Saitama vs Hammerhead.
-
Question: In the volume release, did they remove the "GIF" panels?
All the GIF panels seem to have been replaced with this:
[hide][/hide] -
Seems so.
And it makes sense, the "gifs" don't translate to to the volume format in an optimal fashion it seems.
-
Was it Wataru Takagi as Hammerhead ? I hope not. I will be very disappointed if he doesn't voice Metal Bat.
-
That was definitely Wataru Takagi, he's very recognizable when voicing thuggish characters. Looking at ANN's cast list, the character you're talking about's voiced by Wataru Hatano (who incidentally happens to be one of my favorite seiyuu, so that's cool).
Forget all the monster's Saitama's gibbed so far, that rippling scrotum was absolutely cringeworthy lol I still find it funny how the monsters can get splattered in all their gory glory, yet Sonic dicing the Paradisers up can't (the cartoony lack of blood totally fits the tone of the show though).
-
I'm rereading the volumes in english and i just realized that king appears in chapter 11 of the manga and even speaks. His first line ever is "The Poop Exploded".
Charako is there as well for some reason
-
So about that massive budget… apparently, there is no massive budget.
This series has an average budget, it's just that the talent involved is generally on another level and really passionate.
I also heard that the next episode is partly outsourced so it's possible it'll have some lows.
If its on the Snake guy dude, I wont mind, he sucks, the budget of next episode will probably go on the Sparring match.
As for the latest episode, I only disliked the lack of blood when Sonic decapitated Hammerhead group. The nutsack punch was more brutal than in the manga.
-
Seems like even this anime can't escape from the 4th episode animation quality curse, still it was good quality.
I also really liked Sonic and Licenseless Rider's VAs.

Thanks, gotta check those Metal-bat chaps.

What is this? Is the artbook or something? And I want a translation for these panels on the side, please
-
Something about cherry blossom viewing is all I can make of it. Is there a higher resolution?

Looks like its a special manga cover for those who ordered the manga through Seven Eleven Japan.

Thank you matamune and if it's possible a rough translation please.

I've heard that the sparring scene won't be animated like the gif scene either because they following the volumes, so you can brace yourselves for a dissappointment on that front.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
^UUUUUUUUUGH NEVERMIND. Apparently it was just someone's guess and the dumb ok me took it as a confirmation Ignore it!
By the way, is it safe to say that Metal Bat is what Saitama wishes he could be? Strong enough to win his battles handily, but weak enough to be challenged by his foes.

Wow, the first half of episode 5 was considerably lower quality than usual, then I had to take that all back with the amazing battle in the second half.
Good GOD. That was amazing. Also wow, Anime original end with Sweet Mask encounter. Very interesting.
-
Good lord that fight gave me chills. Also now that it was pointed out the cube destruction no matter the terrain is fairly funny but still cool.
Genos' I have made a huge mistake face is great after asking Saitama to take it seriously. Hahaha.
-
LoL I totally forgot that they created the Hero Association because of Saitama.
-
I'm really liking those originals moments in the anime, gives some depth to the story without seeming blatant filler.
-
Holy shit that Genos vs Saitama spar had friggin amazing animation… excellent episode.
-
I know I'm super picky but the death punch doesn't make sense. It spares Genos while destroying the mountain behind him. In the manga it just creates a cloud of dust.
But yeah, once again the episode is pretty much perfect. -

According to the official TV anime tweet, the original scenes added were result of the staff discussing with ONE and Murata to fill in "what may have happened".
So yeah, they feel natural for a good reason. -
As always it was funny and action-packed. As everyone else have said, Saitama vs. Genos absolutely amazing. The rest of the animation of the episode looked modest compared to everything else, but it didn't really need to look great and it didn't really look bad, either.
I love Genos' design, I think he might end up my favorite cyborg character in anime. All of his attacks looked great.
-

Good GOD. That was amazing.I heard they outsourced this episode, so I assumed that was the reason. But like you said, they totally delivered with the fight.
I'm expecting the rest of the season to look fantastic as well. Can't even imagine Saitama vs Boros -
I don't see anything wrong with the first part's animation.
-
So they didn't do the gif… and it didn't matter because what they cooked up was just as awesome.
Good God I'm loving it!

Volume 10 cover:
-
At slight risk of starting shit I'll say it:
I kinda wish Murata would tone it down with Tatsumaki's sexualization.
I like the idea of OPM being something anyone can get into and the presence of someone who's a borderline loli kinda makes me worry whether it's susceptible to getting dismissed as creepy stuff based on her visage.
I kinda prefer ONE's rendition. She even has some Saitama qualities in that.

You cant deny that underage sexualized characters are very popular in Japan. If anything its that there is demand for that crap what's cuestionable.
At least Murata's Tatsumaki is kinda cute on her own way and has not reached the dangerous creepy levels of Elaine on Seven Deadly Sins (as a recent example)

Yeah, I remember
"oh this would be a sweet love story…
except she looks like an eleven year old...
which makes this awkward as hell..."
With Tatsumaki you can at least sorta sell yourself on "she's just a short woman".
Which reminds me - I even kinda hope the anime plays up her adult features a tiny miny bit. Who's her voice actress again?
