Dofla says monsters in plural because he was more or less in charge of the underground. Apart from supplying Kaidou with SMILE, he also supplied numerous parties with weapons.
Chapter 801: Opening Declaration
-
-
I just noticed that God is on Usopp's bounty poster. Weird.
Speaking of Throne Wars Doffy, you definitely are the king of making epic speeches, everything this guy says is golden.
In a cover story we see Crocus with someone that resembles Shiki and the alleged seventh shichibukai's hair. Not saying that's Shiki because an old player like that is best left in the history books but It does beg the question whether that was the seventh we saw in the cover page story.
That was Scopper Gaban, a member of Gold Roger's crew. I seriously doubt he's become a Warlord.
-
Sooo…could the seventh shichibukai be the one who was chillin with Crocus...which was shown in a coverpage?
-
Pre TS Sanji had 77 bounty and zoro 120, so that's almost double. Post TS zoro haS 320 AND SANJI 177, so that's also almost double.
If this goes on, then on the next bounty update, if Sanji gets 277, the next bounty of zoro would be 520. He would surpass Luffy and Law, wow. Oda doesn't joke at all about Zoro, does he?
-
Sanji's origin as a world noble, the link between the hair and the crokus backstory… I don't care what they say, this fan base is pretty smart.
-

While Sanji's origin is still open for possibility, the fan base that connects 7th Shichibukai's hair with the guy who drank sake with Crocus has probably missed Zephyr's backstory which was revealed in One Piece Volume 1000.
-
That Usopp statue was amazing.
-
That was a really great chapter. Luffy finally got his statue, and so did Usopp (which is great). Iloved Doflamingo's speech. You get where he's coming from in trying to take down the Tenryuubito in light of the flashback, but he's still such an asshole. I love the fact that Usopp and Sanji finally got proper wanted posters, especially Sanji because he's been a buttmonkey for too long. The final bit with Sanji's poster could lead into Sanji getting more character focus, too. I really hope it's not another joke.
-
Forgot to say this before but I hope next week's chapter is the world reacting to the new bounties. Though, I doubt it.
-

I don't think that's how the pattern works.
Zoro always surpasses Luffy previous bounty while Sanji always surpasses Zoro previous bounty.
All monster trio have something in common, they all were in that 100million mark then from there their bounty skyrockets up with a 200million increase. So by that logic Sanji's next bounty increase will be around 377million and Zoro 420million.
-
I can't see Jack rescuing/stealing Do Flamingo just by brute strength against an admiral+ an ex fleet admiral.
I'm quite curious to see how this plays put and hope to not be disappointed. -
Combining Luffy, Zoro and Usopp's bounties alone will generate over a 1,000,000,000B!
Luffy's bounty(final bounty?) will be most interesting when it changes from Strawhat Luffy to Pirate King Luffy -
Forgot to say this before but I hope next week's chapter is the world reacting to the new bounties. Though, I doubt it.
I hope so too but I doubt it too. I'd especially like to see Usopp's hometown react to his bounty.
-
I hope so too but I doubt it too. I'd especially like to see Usopp's hometown react to his bounty.
Yeah. Went from a little shit running through the village lying about attacks and playing silly pirate games, to a globally recognised God with a 200mil bounty who is part of the future Pirate King's crew.
-
Like someone said in some of the first pages, I would be thrilled to see Kuro's reaction.
-
Hope Oda finished the okama jokes with Sanji. He had enough hell for 2 years with it. Would kinda suck if it turns out he's the prince of Okama Kingdom or something.
Rather have him develop the invisible gag more then the okama gag. Pick on Franky and Brook the perverts too, Oda.
-
@$abZ:
Yeah. Went from a little shit running through the village lying about attacks and playing silly pirate games, to a globally recognised God with a 200mil bounty who is part of the future Pirate King's crew.
And please don't Forget: Everyone of his lies in the past become true. (I doubt he is a descendant of Norland).
A pattern I see in these bounties: Sanji is always the 4th when it Comes to the bounty-amount.
@ EL Robin was 3rd with 80mio.
Now Usoppe is 3rd with 200mio.Except for Sanji every SH who left DR earlier got a raise of 50mio (like Barto stated and Chopper's just got raised by 50B).
Sanji earned his 100mio-raise from Sentomarou by kickin the PX's ass. And the G-5 also might have reported his fighing power.
And although Franky and Robin also stayed on DR till the end their raise was also just 50mio.
You know what would be funny? If the WG found out that Usoppe is not as threatening as they have assumed and they lower his bounty to like 150mio. But I guess God Usoppe will strike again and he'll maybe surpass even Zoro the next time.
-
Has anyone noticed that now Revolutionary Army is getting and getting stronger by stealing many stuffs in Joker Black market? Those documents and those weapons to supply many war countries. It's creeping me out that from weapons supply side, RA has prepared for the big battle!
-
While Sanji's origin is still open for possibility, the fan base that connects 7th Shichibukai's hair with the guy who drank sake with Crocus has probably missed Zephyr's backstory which was revealed in One Piece Volume 1000.
is zephyr's backstory still canon though? I thought it wasn't.
-
I already like this Jack guy, fearless mofo
-
is zephyr's backstory still canon though? I thought it wasn't.
It's like with Shiki: the films themselves aren't canon, but their backstories are.
-
is zephyr's backstory still canon though? I thought it wasn't.
Think of it this way. What's the purpose of even thinking of a backstory with a pirate that has become a Shichi and not reveal him if he will never appear again. Zephyr went nuts when he saw that the same guy that slaughtered his cadets is now working WG, and he strongly opposed Shichibukai system. That is a theme that has also been introduced in the manga and will probably be an important plot point. The guy from Z's backstory fits right in.
Same thing happened with Shiki's backstory. The movie events, where he fought SH weren't canon, but his backstory was, as shown in Chapter 0.
-
I just noticed that God is on Usopp's bounty poster. Weird.
That was Scopper Gaban, a member of Gold Roger's crew. I seriously doubt he's become a Warlord.
Gaban has black hair unless it's turned white from old age?

@.access:
As someone who grew tired of OP attempts to make you HYPE, I relate a lot with this feeling. But this chapter still managed to get me excited for completely different reasons. Fuck the bounties, but I loved Franky angry about them and Usopp being afraid and excited at the same time. Fuck the big names and the WAR OF THRONES, but I loved seeing Doflamingo again and the way he and Tsuru acted near each other. And I loved the Barto Club, their ship, Barto showing no sign of respect towards Law, the good old light hearted humor! And the autographs, and the fact a group that I loved might come back anytime now, the possibility of SH being developed (or trolled, as long as it is Sanji I would love it both ways)…
I love OP world building and the overall plot, but Oda attempts to make things seem epic just pass right through me. Still, this chapter had so much everything else that this didn't bother me. So while I agree with each one of your points, the chapter worked perfectly with me for completely different reasons.
The only point I disagree with is Bellamy, though. I hate to admit, but I was SO pleased by what this chapter did to him. "Oh, he was in the party all the time, I just forgot to draw him last time... sorry. And there he goes away in just one panel without any goodbye or reaction from Luffy NOW LOOK AT THE COMMANDERS THEY SO COOL!". I was really annoyed by the whole "Bellamy is a very important character, you will see", so this was just perfection to me.
p.s.: I don't get Doflamingo, though. So the fact he was imprisoned led to the New Era he wanted to see? So why he was providing all those things then? Wasn't it like preventing the exact thing he wanted from becoming reality? Oh well, I guess it's too early to have this answers.
before he wanted to see that era because it was an era where the "great men" would have dominated the little ones…now he is just excited that he doesn't know where everything is going..just like marineford, for him we are on neutral ground
-
Oda wouldn't make an important point and the cliffhanger for the week if its a joke.
remember Duval ??
-
It's just like doffy said, he had all these scary monsters at the end of his strings. Now that he has lost control he wonders what they will do, ether way the world gets turned on its head, by his hand or by the rest of the powerful pirates/organizations. He wanted to be the one to destroy everything for his on personal revenge.
-
This chapter has to be one of the greatest things for humanity since the discovery of fire.
I first read it at 8 AM and I notice that at 8 PM I still haven't stopped analyzing it.
It was genuinely one of the best chapters of this decade. It's setting up the whole next decade of One Piece. -

Why put Dofla's coat only in there randomly? He's not even wearing it at the moment, he's dressed in prison stripes. And I don't see his leg anywhere. Also, if you check how his coat was drawn throughout this arc, you'll see it has a different texture. The endings aren't that spikey most of the time.
Here is the leg I'm talking about:
!
And the fact is Doflamingo is still a Warlord in that picture at the current moment. That and his head is being covered up by the speech bubble as well. And the "leg" is a similar pattern like what Doflamingo has. The way the picture is drawn with Law being right next to him, is to show the Four Emperors, then the Seven Warlords, then the Supernovas. With the way Law is positioned in the picture, it feels like he's more part of the Warlords then the Supernovas.
Considering that something is protruding out of that hair and that one of the admirals is shown as hair only, don't see how anyone can think it's anything else but 7th Shichibukai head.
I'm sorry, I just don't see it as hair, it feels more like a coat especially with the leg sticking out like that. The third admiral was shown in dark, but it at least shown an actual head shot instead of someone else's back. Even if you did not see how their face really looks like, its still a silhouette compared to the other picture.
And many characters throughout the series were always shown in a silhouette type of form before revealing their true form. So, it would not make sense for what I see as Doflamingo's coat to be a new Warlord. It's not even in a silhouette form like every character that was shown throughout the story. It would not make sense, especially compared to the new Revolutionary guy and the third admiral. (With their silhouettes.)

I know sanji's mystery wanted poster ending was a cliffhanger and awesome, but the thing that excites me about next chapter is if they reveal who jack is (who i hope is Axe hand morgan, just to make it unbelievable/shocking) , will he be able to extract doflamingo somehow, and will doflamingo give us super evil wicked laugh as if to announce something crazy is gonna happen(Because i think we didnt get to see his full potential).
I say these things because that jack is shit serious about attacking those escort ships. -
I'm so sad that he's called "god" ussop. I wanted him to be sogeking "King of Snipers" for his whole pirate career. "God" ussop just doesn't have a good ring to it.
also, this mean sanji will get a powerup, thank god. I NEED him to prove his awesomeness. He's been poorly used in the past couple arcs.

What you marked is Law's ear, with earrings. Dofla is talking about people who are aiming for the top. He doesn't consider himself as one, since he's in chains and wishes daily newspaper delivery to his cell in ID.

Compare it with how Oda has been drawing Dofla's coat and you'll see Dofla's coat is a lot smoother at the edges.
The upper panel shows only heads so it's different than the admiral panel in that sense. -
Gaban has black hair unless it's turned white from old age?
Well, yeah. Rayleigh went gray, too.

So what do you think , is this the end of doflamingo

So what do you think , is this the end of doflamingo
He will find a way to take him, but I think this jack is the vice captain of Kaidou pirates. And IMO he is some sort of cyborg or just likes to wear metal armor( like a knight, maybe zoro's enemy from the kaidou pirates?), like that guy who protects the favorite island of Kaidou.( Scrotch I think it was his name). His metal mask is more like something out of a classic knight armor.
And it does help that this is a sea battle, not regular battle, and fujitora and sengoku are df users, and who knows what power jack has.
But still, I don't Morgan is likely at least because this guy has to be very strong, and no way Morgan would jump in the top league in 2 years.

you know regardless of who jack is, it's exciting that this jack guy is taking up such a ridiculous challenge,, and if he finds a way to take dofla back, that would be fucking epic.

What you marked is Law's ear, with earrings. Dofla is talking about people who are aiming for the top. He doesn't consider himself as one, since he's in chains and wishes daily newspaper delivery to his cell in ID.
Oh, I gotcha. With how it was drawn it, it looked like a leg to me. I see Law's ear now xD
That's why I thought it was him because of how it drawn. I just got confused because Law's ear made it look like a leg o.o…..
Compare it with how Oda has been drawing Dofla's coat and you'll see Dofla's coat is a lot smoother at the edges.
The upper panel shows only heads so it's different than the admiral panel in that sense.I gotcha. Doflamingo's coat looks more rounder, and less spikey than compared to the photo in this image. I guess I was wrong. The main part that made me think it was a coat was because it was familiar-looking, and the fact that I confused Law's ear for a leg. Oh, well. Anyways, thanks for clearing that up for me! :3

Exactly. We need to see what his hometown thinks of that! Especially Kaya and the Usopp Pirates…I'd love them to say "SEE! Ussopp DID become a pirate!" to the village

Hey, at first I thought it was Buggy's coat, until I realized it would be taking up too much space. You could fit one more head there.
That, and I noticed that line coming out of the right side of the "head". No idea what that might be.

Well, if that is a like a cape and not hair, it looked to me like a sword( white line) but if it's hair then maybe he has horns or just has long teeth like boars.
hmm maybe he has a ''boar theme'' with that spiked hair and boar tooth. calling it, 7 warlord has a boar theme!
That or he's like one of these masks
!

Oh, I see. That line looked like a katana to me, but since this is a head shot, its very much something else. Maybe some kinda of head decoration, or horns even.

Hell, I just want to see Kuro again at all!
Kuro was one of my favorite villains. I'd be happy if he came back, but didn't he give up being a pirate?
-
Gaban has black hair unless it's turned white from old age?
Well, yeah. Rayleigh went gray, too.
Not gonna weigh in on 'who's who' but do want to say something about the hair coloring …. do we have a an official colored image of Gabon that shows its black? I mean, in the manga, Mr.4 has black hair but turns out in Oda's color spreads its blond. Also Remember Yasopp, manga makes its looks as if he has dark hair but its blond
Be funny if yasopp judged usopp for his epithet being god, like he was full of himself or something.
I doubt that, as in majority of cases its the Marines, not the pirate, that give the nickname.
But I do want to see Yasopp's reaction here's hoping it would be as funny as this comic=[hide] "Somewhere in the New World…." by Necr0w
[/hide]Exactly. We need to see what his hometown thinks of that! Especially Kaya and the Usopp Pirates…I'd love them to say "SEE! Ussopp DID become a pirate!" to the village

Yeah I want to see another 'where are they now' type of arc where we see the various people looking at the newspapers & bounties again. In the last two (after EL & then return of SHs) the villagers of Syrup Village were totally unaware, save for the 3 Usopp Pirates Boys, Kaya & Merry.
Like someone said in some of the first pages, I would be thrilled to see Kuro's reaction.
Oh yes!! I remember that fight where Luffy said that Usopp was a better Pirate (despite he hasn't gone to sea yet) than Kuro was.
And please don't Forget: Every one of his lies in the past become true. (I doubt he is a descendant of Norland).
Hmmm but as you said, (nearly) every one of his lies has came true. Yes, he was thinking he made that up, well he did the same when he was playing with the 3 boys ('encounters' the dragon, cerebus ect) or telling Kaya stories (the giant goldfish, dwarves eating it)
His being descendant of Norland would fit into a theory of mine where Usopp either wasn't born in the Gecko Islands but somewhere else OR his pirate dad returned with his pregnant wife that came from somewhere else.
I've a theory that Yasopp did join Shanks when they first met some years before Usopp was born, and that it was while they were traveling around that Yasopp met Banchina and married her, when she got pregnant. Either Before or shortly after Usopp's birth they arrive back in Yasopp's home island.AYou know what would be funny? If the WG found out that Usoppe is not as threatening as they have assumed and they lower his bounty to like 150mio. But I guess God Usoppe will strike again and he'll maybe surpass even Zoro the next time.
I doubt they would lower it as that would mean they are acknowledging they made a mistake.
-
really can't imagine what direction oda is gonna go with capt- jack…
on one hand making him fail would make the scene kinda pointless and undermine a bit his menace (but only just a bit,we are talking about fujitora, sengoku and tsuru after all)...on the otherthat part must go somewhere..maybe he just wants to show us that he is batshit insane?and even IF doflamingo gets rescued..i can't imagine his role in the story at this point...even save him just to make kaidou personally crush him would be a really strange choice for a guy like doflamingo and the importance he had in the story until now.
of course there's also the possibility that jack is successfull through some devil fruit shenanigans
-
Kuro was one of my favorite villains. I'd be happy if he came back, but didn't he give up being a pirate?
He TRIED to give up piracy … but Usopp & Luffy ended his plan. At the end of that fight, Luffy threw Kuro to the Kuro Pirates and they ran off. Don't forget part of his plan of retiring in a small out of the way place was for Jango to hypnotize the local rich girl so she would write a will to make Kuro inherit all her money and big house. Jango got left behind, then joined the marines so won't be able to help another plan. So Kuro really had no choice but to return to Piracy.
-
You read it here first! Here what's gonna happen….
They're gonna Destroy the ship from under-water and some fishmen on Jack's ship will coat him and vanish deep in the sea.
-
Yeah, I think we only know of Chopper's and Usopp's parents. The rest still has a mom, dad or both missing.
What do Chopper's parents call one another?
"Deer."
I'm sorry.
