Great seeing Neo again. Not sure what's so dangerous about a giant crow to make it a King. With all the crazy stuff in Toriko, it's a monster crow that takes me out the series. Weird.

Yeah, this chapter came out of nowhere but I liked it. Maybe this is a volume ending chapter. Could've had a better transition, give us one page of Death Cooking downtime then go into it. It'll reserve full judgement until I see where next chapter takes place.

Maybe Shima or an editor was afraid of going several chapters without seeing the main cast and freaked out.

If this chapter was considered out of place, then any chapter that switches from 1 area to another area is automatically out of place too. Happens all the time. Nothing wrong with it.

Also, the downtime was after Yuda won his cooking match. Dont see why that wasnt an acceptable way of showing this. It also lets us see what everyone else is doing during this time.

And most importantly, it was during this time that the monstrous Acacia thing woke up or w/e it did.

Dont see how Kaido being introduced from OP wasnt out of place, yet this chapter was. Who cares if this chapter didnt say something along the lines of "After the cooking match finished, during this time elsewhere" It would be a waste of words and panels when its so obviously implied.

Like the other guys said, it's a bad omen. Something randomly breaking for no discernible reason is seen as a bad omen in japanese media. It might even be a legit cultural thing with some kind of mythological story using it.

To clarify, we are seeing now a lot of the final villans and their powers are not being explained; I mean for example: I never really considered that JoeJoe would have an appetite demon/monster inside; that feels very much like something that was going to be revealed as a surprise later on in the series. What I am trying to say is that it feels as though Mitsutoshi is being rushed to finish the series in the same way the Hitman Reborn was rushed to its end: A final villan briefly introduced and then defeated by some poorly fleshed-out flaw (an issue I have been having with Blech (not a typo) lately).

! And why should their powers be explained when plenty are not till much later? Toriko's usual ranking is 7th place the lowest and has steady sales.

Right, I am not saying that all characters and their powers should be given 3 chapters+, I am just concerned that relatively (in that they were able to move about the GW freely and had very high level titles) important characters (much like Boneless, the bubblegum guy, and Shigematsu) will not be detailed. I mean, the sudden animal characteristics of a member of the Oth, the top ranked Human world chef, a Human World National Treasure, and the former Bishokaki's top scientist just feels like end of series information/battles. I get that Toriko is not at One Piece levels of sales or popularity, but Bleach's current arc has been rambling on for almost two years without much sign of slowing (even in the midst of horrible sales, likely worse). I just don't want Toriko to end prematurely like other good shonen: yu yu hakusho, hitman reborn, etc.
