Yeah, the event was really fun, but really bugged. I say it was bugged, but for me it wound up bugged in a semi-good way, in that it was rare when I'd go up against a full team (and they were usually from my own side). The rest of the time, it was a full team against 1-2 Cats (sometimes Dogs), and we would just slaughter them. I think I only had five matches where the opposing team had 3-4 players, and I only lost one or two of them, since it seems like the rest of my team just wasn't that good when it came to a fair fight. Those victories felt a bit empty, honestly, since I was well aware that there was absolutely no way the opposition had a chance, when they were either one or two against a full team, who could easily nullify their efforts, even if they managed to cover ground.
Still, I managed to get to Dog Queen and end on a +35.5 streak (which I fully acknowledge was cheap), even though I started pretty late in the day, so I'm satisfied. Hopefully the next Splatfest, whenever the fuck it happens, will work out better in terms of matchmaking/lag, but I won't hold my breath. Also, yes, the ambiance was fantastic, and the Squid Sisters' dancing was really cute.
