Hahaha I love that face in the last panel.
Food Wars - It's In the Trash

I like that Erina is no longer in Maximum Bitch mode when talking to Soma now. There interactions are quite fun.
-
I wonder if he'll think of making a mapo tofu, but that probably won't end up being the game
-
Lol @ Hisako beating Alice by a single vote on the popularity poll.
Fun chapter - looking forward to all of this festival business, it's pretty interesting so far. Really enjoyed all of the interactions between Soma and Erina in this chapter also.
@Purple:
I wonder if he'll think of making a mapo tofu, but that probably won't end up being the game
Yes, I'm very curious as to what he'll wind up doing. To go along with the festival motif and the fact that he was shown picking up the techniques a couple chapters ago - maybe something involving skewers… deconstructed mapo tofu kebabs possibly? Not really sure how that would act as an eye-catcher to peel Kuga's customers away though, as he was able to with Erina's with his performance during the 200 egg dish challenge.
-
Obviously it's going to be Chinese Tofu egg Risotto :ninja:
-
Tofu with dried squid and peanut butter sound better.:ninja:
To be fair to Erina, she is finally able to have a relatively decent conversation with Soma! Though it took nearly 121 chapters for that to happen…On an unrelated note, I'm quite interested to see what the other elite ten's lackeys (if any) are capable of.
Erina got Hisako who skilled enough to made it to the top 8.
Eizan got Subaru who was skilled enough to made it to the top 4.
Kuga's men are capable of replicating his dish. -
Bitchy mcbitch pants seems to have calmed down.
Souma will get himself out of this, as he is the main character, but maybe he'll actually have some pressure for once, not "aw shucks" himself through the story like he has for the last 121 chapters.
Italian Yamcha is dumb, tan Neji is cool, and Titty Tsundere did nothing this chapter.
-
Italian Yamcha is dumb, tan Neji is cool,
I forgot they were in this chapter :p
But at least Aldini got a little comedy in. Hayama was just there.
and Titty Tsundere did nothing this chapter.
Wait, you mean Nikumi?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Although, to be honest, I do wish they'd stop using 'expulsion' as a threat-factor in all these arcs. We've already been seeing that so many times, and it makes it too obvious (well, more than usual) that Soma's not going to lose this. Plus, Soma's already one-upped that by waging never to be a chef again, so there's not much you do to make the stakes even more over the top.
So unless there's somehow a loophole Soma can exploit, I'd like to see scenarios where Soma could afford to lose. I know he never loses anyway, but there's always a chance right? -

-
Yeah, he only needs to make profit to not be in trouble this time.
The stakes are quite low for this fight, to be honest. -
That's the face of someone that knows he screwed it up.
-
Yeah, he only needs to make profit to not be in trouble this time.
The stakes are quite low for this fight, to be honest.I mean I'd say the stakes are decently high. Because we know the Chinese Society always sells a ton of food, in order for Soma to buy enough food to even possibly beat Kuga he is going to have to spend a ton of money. And since he's positioned right next to them if he isn't able to keep up with all the orders or people don't like his food as much there's no way he'll be able to sell enough to pay for all the food he bought beforehand.
Of course there's no way Soma's gets kicked out right now, so it's really the plotarmor that makes him safe.

Just watch a bit of the anime, and they didn't make Doujima as scary looking as the manga :(
It's too bright, they should have emphasized the shadows a bit more, especially on his face. Also they added more stuff to the Soma Erina scene which kinda breaks the 4th wall about their added "boings". But Soma seems more of a airhead in the anime, with his crazy humming.

! So they're gonna team up after all?
! My Korean let me understand … nothing. But I like there is much interaction between the main protagonists, which is atypical so far (even... is Erina blushing because of Soma?) . It seems we left behind the 'introductory phase' and now the elite ten appears to be kind of a collective antagonist of the first generation to which Soma belongs.
-
The chapter is out over at RMT and of course Megumi joined Soma, but it seems the other Autumn Election finalists will also be competing.
-
I'm starting to think Soma will focus on chinese food that will help relieve spicyness. This will help him differentiate himself from Kuga and use Kuga's booth to his advantage
-
Also, it's using Megumi's specialty, being nurturing and stuff.
-
Also, it's using Megumi's specialty, being nurturing and stuff.
Oh yeah, didn't even think of that
-
With the topic "if you don't get a profit, you're expelled", maybe the tension will focus not on how Soma beats Kuga or Kuga betas Soma, but on how Soma gets barely the costumers to just win a half yen. A severe beat for Soma!
A Carolina Reaper is required.
-
Really liking Kuga, seems it's been a while since we have a strong villain present.
-
I am NOT even going to attempt to make the rainbow terrine btw, the amount of time it would take to make seven separate layers of terrine would be completely insane.

Weren't they limited to three hours? Go on Blue, you know you can do it!

That'd be too much of a cop-out. He'll need to learn Chinese cuisine as some point and that includes Kuga's speciality. Remember that right now Soma is all about assimilating techniques.

I feel like part of the point of this chapter was that Kuha was focusing entirely on ONE type of chinese cuisine, so Soma will win by showing that there's more to chinese cuisine than just spicyness. Seems totally in line with how Soma operates

Chapter 121 Digital Colored Raw. (Forgot to post this one last week).
Chapter 122 Digital Colored Raw. -
Oh man that power trio of Hayama, Kurokiba and Alice. Didn't see that coming!
Based Megoomy coming in with the save for Soma
-
Lol at Hisako "forcing" Erina to try Soma's food.
And this kinds of puts it more plainly, why Erina both is non-puzzled by soma's cooking and has mellowed out, she has both dissmissed him as a threat (note the lack of stripping angels) and aknoledged him as a cheff (his place in the tournament, and progress with the beef stew). She's denying his potential, but it's creeping up on her.

The "I don't give a fuck" chapter
I really hope Souma get wrecked on the first day of the festival. Seriously, he put way more thought in the karaage situation than in this. I kinda feel like the author is trying too hard to make him look like underdog that it makes Souma look like an idiot. Also, I'm kinda disappointed that the author didn't show more of the other characters preparation for the festival. I guess we'll see what the other characters are selling on that day. -
An english translation is out (although it isn't that good, but seems servicable) http://bato.to/read/_/327367/shokugeki-no-soma_ch123_by_no-group
! Yep, really looking like my prediction about Soma going for something that will ease up spices will come true
-
Yukihira milk stand. Easiest customers of his life.
-
Wow, how did readmanga do the subliminal watermarking?
Is this even allowed on batoto?
-
Dude, if you're gonna make a low translation of a chapter, make a low translation of the previous chapter.
-
! So it seems like Soma will be making some kind of chinese dumplings judging by the equipment on the cart…
@Purple:

From what I gather it seems like it was by the chinese scan team mad about readmanga using their scans every week lol.
-
The translation sucks.
-
Just read 123 and it's an incredibly disappointing chapter. Soma spent the whole chapter obsessing about spicy. It's so out of character for Soma. He's never been that rigid before and he's never been so slow to learn before. Especially given that his father has given him the basic techniques of all cuisine around the world.
-
It's the fourth update of readmanga, and now the translation is better.
I didn't feel Soma is out of his character in searching the spiciness. Soma vs kuga kind of duel doesn't make much sense to me, and the whole set up points to the fact that Soma will lose by far, but the tension point will focuse on getting some profit to not be expelled. I'm more interested in seeing the dishes and the foodgasms (I want to see Megumi's lips now) and something else of the other elites 10. I wonder when will see Ishiki shinning for his cooking; and whit all the ruckus around Erina, it'd nice if we see some of her cooking too.
-
Casanova scans released chapter 122 & 123 scans.
http://casanovascans.com/series/shokugeki_no_soma/
I can't link to individual chapter for some reasons. While I still find Soma's action to be idiotic, I can't help but find it amusing that his cart is so small compared to Kuga's booth.lol
The Elite Ten are really serious about their booth.
Erina replaces the furnitures in the building she is using.
Kuga build an overly elaborate pavilion. Seriously, how are they going to dismantle it after the festival?!
Isshiki plans to "build" a river apparently. Is he really going to do that!? XD -
It's probably realistic, asking your classmates for advice on schoolwork, but it kinda feels weird how he can now just pop in and ask Erina for advice whenever he feels like it. I guess that a progression in strength.
-
If Erina is first in the 1st year rankings, then soma is tied at 3rd, besides, everyone else has aknowledged him, including her cousing and her secretary, and managed to interact with Megumi in a positive way, it would be unrealistic for her to still be as petty as before the whole beef stew thing.
-
Erina's probably still plenty petty, but I'm guessing she's just becoming more accustomed to Yukihara's antics. She probably would have tried to refuse him if Hisoko didn't say it was okay for him to try the dishes out.
If Soma's station is mobile, I'd think it'd be funny if he walked along the line of the people waiting to get served by the 8th Seat and sell his product (assuming the lines are long enough for people to be waiting utside that huge building).
Personally think Kuga's sincere about not wanting Yukihara to be expelled. It'll be interesting to see how the challenge goes.
And I'm doubtful that we'll see much of the rest of the event, but I'm hoping we keep periodically checking up on Alice. We've barely had focus on her lately and it's nice to see she's fired up about the event too, but her antics in general are charming. She's a fun character to follow.
-

Are you saying Kuga's … ... tsundere to Yukihira?

Kuga's mouth was watering inside with the thought of Souma being expelled.

Now that I read the good scanlation, I didn't find Erina petty at all. She could refuse to help Soma anytime, but she didn't, and sure Hisoko's say is not the explanation. Rather it's part of the general set up introduced with the arrival to the Elite ten. All the tension in the relationships between the first generation has dissipated since now the tension between the 1st generation and the elite ten is much more important and it's in the center of the plot. That's something refreshing. For instance, now we can have a chapter like this in which the traditional 'rival' characters are working together instead of dueling or being unpleasant with each other.

He's definitely not.

I hope we could see at least a couple of secondary pages about some other elite ten. But definitely we'll see Alice since she's taking Ryo and Hayama to help her to do something.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
A funny cooking manga: Dungeon Meal.
-
Erina did say that the Elite Ten's booth are the highlights of the festival. It would be really disappointing if only Souma and his friends booth are shown.
-
Kuga's mouth was watering inside with the thought of Souma being expelled.
He's definitely not.
Just think that unlike say Eizan or Erina, Soma hasn't really done anything that directly upsets his business or philosophy. Or he's been doing is trying to make Kuga accept him as a rival. Nor does he really seem like a person that would want the strong to be out for petty reasons. The fact that he wants the Chinese girl to still join his club kinda shows that.
If he gets surpassed, then maybe I could understand a vendetta, but for now? Why would he want Soma gone? Tsundere is probably a fair scenario given how he acted towards his underlings.

I used the term petty because Erina's whole deal against Soma is petty to begin with, so her not wanting to help out or not accept him is done for kinda petty reasons. At least Eizan's business was affected by Soma's actions. Erina's just upset that Soma keeps succeeding after wanting him to fail time and again.
But like it's been said, her relationship with Soma is evolving. She's getting more used to his presence, especially since he keeps popping up in her life.
-
Kuga not being sincere about him not wanting Soma to get expelled doesn't necessarily mean that he wants Soma expelled.
Him not being sincere about it I think refers more to him probably not caring either way. He doesn't see Soma as a threat, he's more like an interesting side distraction to him. So there's no real feeling behind any of his words. -

I think that's just a thing he does, to act cute or whatever. I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually feel anything to his underlings, and they simply follow him to learn how to cook from a master.

Kuga doesn't want to attack Soma. He simply doesn't care, and since he's talkative his little number in saying he doesn't want him to be expelled simply shows in a funny way he doesn't mind if Soma is expelled.
