What ?
When luffy drop kick him it was called rhino schneider .
Yea I am aware of that, but getting to Doflamingo isn't a Rhino Schneider. It's called moving really fast and then using Rhino Schneider.

im still waiting for Elephant Red Hawk Gatling

Yeah but he meant to close the gap and get behind him so fast wasn't Rhino Schneider, as in flying through the air towards Doffy and then appearing out of nowhere besides him wasn't the move, but yes the dropkick itself is the move.

I wonder if Luffy can even transform to Gear 4 again. I think Luffy is just reaching a state in which he can use Haki. Gear 4 is going all out with Haki, so i really doubt Luffy is back up to full.

You're going to have wait until he faces Kaido then, so let's see…4-5 years time?

Oh okay .
Yeah he just move really fast to get there.
Oh okay .
Yeah he just move really fast to get there.
I wonder if that scene hints to Doffy CoO.
On this page Doflamingo is mesmerised by Luffy flying and notices Luffy dissapear, then Luffy has his attacked charged up.
Then on this page Doflamingo has Haki on his face trying to nullify as much damage possible. Not only did he know where the attack was coming from, but where it was going to hit.
@DHL:
Well in Doflamingos defence he was a bit shocked to see Luffy flying, the dude didn't even know where he was after he flew across the country.
Also the the move wasn't the Rhino Schneider, Luffy just soru'd through the air and then attacked. You mean to say Luffy was fast to get behind Doflamingo?Leo Bazooka is probably one of his most powerful moves. Elephant gattling is the most powerful destructive move.
(That we've seen)
is jet bazooka one of his most powerful g2 moves? literally just a g4 bazooka. Id say he has a real finisher like g4 cannon or storm or something. And the fact that he was surprised by luffy's speed isn't an excuse. He was watching him fly, then watched him disappear and re appear on his face. I just don't see any evidence that mingo is stronger then g4 luffy. He supposedly awakened his fruit against him too and puffy dodged those attacks easy. very one sided fight so far. G2 Luffy was getting toyed with g4 luffy was destroying Mingo

I can let it past and agree that G4 > Dofla, probably not by such an enormous gap if at full strength, but still being on top. But an overall fight against Luffy, Doflamingo would come out on top, simply because Luffy can't keep up gear 4 for that long.
I believe Luffy in future won't be holding g4 like that. I think in this situation Luffy had to go all out so he reached his limit in using it. I see quick switches between, 2/3/4 happening just like he has been with 2 & 3.
What is Luffys most current powerful seen Gear 2 move?
Luffys grizzly magnum sent ceaser halfway across the island.
Gear 4 Kong Gun which is the pistol version of his gear 4 sent Doflamingo flying into the central district. There is a massive difference between g2 and 4.
So look at Kong guns recoil and Grizzly magnums.

G2 Luffy was landing some hits that made him spurt out blood at some points in the fight, I wouldn't say he was getting toyed with, toyed with is what he did with Law as he helplessly watched Mingo sever his arm. Luffy stopped Doffy's imminent stamp on Law with one foot, he definitely has the strength in his default form.
@Don:
In my opinion in chapter 791 the fight with Doffy will end.
789 will be Luffy saving Viola and re-entering the fight.
Both show their last power in 790(maybe Luffy breaking parasite/spider net).
791 finishing move(maybe using CoC), Doffys eyeglasses fall.
And maybe more backstory for Doffy .It would be really damn awesome if Oda went that way . Really really hoping for this .

You mean Luffys normal punches?
I mean at that point did you see where Doflamingo was 20 seconds ago?
Luffy stopping Doflamingos stomp wasn't a feat. It was meant to be a powerful scene of Luffy stepping in.

It wasn't a feat, it was a foot that stopped a seemingly pissed off Doffy from crushing Law's skull (he even claimed that was his intention right after he was stopped) so there was definitely a lot of force behind that would-be stamp to the face, so stepping in and stopping it so casually requires strength. Yeah the scene was powerful but what if he didn't have the strength to stop that stamp, would it be powerful or a big fail on Luffy's part?
Also I don't think it's easy to tell when Luffy is using G2 anymore, he doesn't exactly say gear second and he seems to switch in and out of it with ease.

Of course Luffy is strong. He has to be. We're talking a 400m bounty powerhouse lol.
Just an e.g. If we are to compare that scene with a previous stomp Doflamingo did on this page , with what Luffy blocked, then Luffy must be super strong to stop that.
But then you have Luffy right after in gear 2 fail to stop Doflamingos kick and was smashed around here. Not to mention in here and also here and this one riiiiiight here .

Yea, it will be interesting. I personally feel there should have been more. A lot of the time it was. The fight starts now, no now. NOW this is it, NOW THIS IS IT here we go.

i agree. I used "toyed with" more as a pun then a description. Luffy was definitely losing in g2 form though and he knew that.

And yeah, this arc was so fucking long. Gonna have to go back and reread it all at once
Birdcage is one of the first things in One Piece that I have complete disdain for, at this point, at least. It's way too overpowerd. I know this conversation has been had, but eh.

Buggy would easily beat the Bird Cage by just walking right through it.

So this means that Buggy is stronger than Doflamingo, then that means Buggy is legions ahead of Sanji.

I don't think the lenght of G4 is that much of a problem, in itself. The fact Luffy can't switch it off and practically knocks himself out after using it is what makes it risky. It's more of a desperation attack than anything else, as it is now.
But it's a given Luffy will learn how to switch it off or keep it shorter to avoid being completely drained. I think he won't be switching it on and off so soon. Maybe he'll develop a middle ground. G4 but a form that doesn't make him as big, so he doesn't use that much Haki.

Hmm maybe. It might be a challenge for Luffy in the new world to master it. I believe he could have just been pushing himself to keep it sactivated. I don't know if Luffy would last well against the beasts if he'd be lying down for that long unguarded.
I can't see why he couldn't deactivate haki now. But you've mentioned a good point.
I think G4 Needs to be massive. It's got defence to blunt blows which doesn't make Luffy get smashed everywhere (see my here here post earlier )
I personally think Luffy has other modes but this was the best for the current situation.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Not gear 4 modes. But other modes/gears outside this class.
Ifo luffy activates gear 4 and maintain his normal size it would mean he can compress more meaning he is deadlier. Imagine him one day reaching a level where he can compress so hard making him a mini luffy.
The strongest gear 4th would be dwarf luffy. I want dwarf luffy to fight blackbeard.

There's no evidence he can't turn it off before he's exhausted. He just can't switch in and out of Gear 4 rapidly yet, and that makes sense. Gear 4, more than either of the Gears before it, is a drastic full body transformation. Luffy recognizes its drawbacks, but at this point it's supposed to be a full body thing since that's how he gets both offense and defense out of it. Keep in mind that Luffy never showed that sort of localized mastery of either G2 or G3, or without their repetitive drawbacks, until after the timeskip. It should be expected that it will be a long, long time before Luffy starts showing real mastery. I think we'll see localized use a little bit before he's able to quickly switch in and out of it.

You're including where he still stores air, right? Because that's where a good portion of his spring tension comes from. Right now he uses the air stored in his torso as a reserve to pump into his arms as necessary; compressing it down even further might not work as well.
I definitely hope that Gear 5 is more Luffy-shaped though.

Gear 4 Chapter 783. Gear 2 chapter 387.
Gear 3 chapter 421. The next gear goes from 4 to 1. 4-2-1.

The difference would be how strong the characters are and there defense .
CC took that attack and was physically weak .
Don has one of the highest physically defense we have seen so far and was blocking with haki .

Also, CC is made of gas. Naturally he'd float farther when knocked away!

For me. It was a lot easier to kick a soccer ball than a balloon for distance.

Both filled with air.
I'm aware drag versus momentum plays the biggest role and it's clearly not as simple as I made it. But that might really be the Oda-physics explanation for it.

Really nice point on both filled with air btw
They should create two new categories in Physics textbooks.
Oda physics.
High school of the dead breast physics.

All i'm saying is that gear 4th is luffy storing air (in muscles?) so it boatshim up. But he holds it together by using ambition. So he could compress it more if he wants. Would probably mean a higher dose of ambition is needed.. Why would luffy loose tension if he increases the air compression? He would probably loose a bit of his bouncing but the attacks woul be much more stronger than now. Plus he could ease the compression of his body getting the bouncing back to repel attacks.

Ambition is only related to CoC Haki. Armament, which he's using in G4, has nothing to do with it.
Tightly compressed air would be harder to redirect out of his limbs and into a highly pressurized torso. There's also the possibility that a more compressed body would lose a lot of its useful defensive attributes. I'd think that a certain point the elasticity of the collision would decrease and he'd be taking more force/damage from the impact.
Being able to control the tensile strength of his body at will is an ability I've been wanting Luffy to learn for quite a while now. Theoretically, full mastery wouldn't require him to change shape at all.
You see i always thought the english translation for haki was ambition. So the 3 forms of Haki CoC CoO and CoA were all manifestations of ambition to me.
I also agree that controlling the tension of his body will lead to different shapes. So he would deliver the deadlier attacks in his normal shape whereas the bigger bound man would protect him more.

Don't forget Looney Tunes physics, which acts as a deranged corollary to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle: for the laws of physics to be obeyed, they must first be observed. In other words, by observing the laws themselves we enforce them. Your head can explode and leave a comically sizzling stump now.
So, since last chapter was called "My Fight" will tomorrow's chapter be called "Our Fight" sort of a united front from everyone in Dressrosa v Doffy? Or it might just be named after the character that has the spotlight, so related to Viola's redemption or Cavendish in some way or form, and yeah I 100% see Cavendish swooping in, as half Hakuba half himself, because he'll need the speed.
You see i always thought the english translation for haki was ambition. So the 3 forms of Haki CoC CoO and CoA were all manifestations of ambition to me.
I guess that is the literal translation. Seems like we've had several Haki-using characters to whom the idea of ambition doesn't really apply. Like what's-her-face and the priests back from Skypeia, or the majority of the Kuja warriors.

There was a panel that might indicate he can turn it off at his own volition. When he uses Leo Bazooka on Dofla, one of the people asks him why he's still bouncing and can't he stop himself, to which Luffy says "Nope.".
I agree it's nothing definitive, but Luffy not being able to deactivate G4 might be one of the answers.
My prediction is that luffy will use one more attack on DD and he is on the ground. Flashback starts "Years ago, rookies Doflamingo enters the New world. He starts to extend his underworld business in the New world. One day, a person Jack contacts him…" Break next week.
