Like, at least let Shikimaru's kid have some bangs or a stray wisp of hair or something.

If this is really going to be a new series, you can tell straight away it'll be a hit. Make the offspring of the previous generation basically their clones. Adult women are only good for childbirth and childrearing. No hint of reality between relationships, just a sick one-sided view of what life is like as an adult, while watching their idiot children run around dealing with psychological problems their parents are most likely at fault for.
It's gonna be great!
-
Was this house destroying played off as a joke? Didn't really feel like one. And in that case gifted ninja at chakra control cannot control chakra limiting her super strength output.
I don't even know why I've read this.

@TLC:
The shameful thing about it is Sakura's constant chasing after Sasuke and constantly being unrewarded for it and she can't get a fucking clue.
She was rejected so many times by him, almost killed so many times by him, genjutsued to death so many times by him, she still never had the self respect and dignity to say to herself "You know what? This guy is a douchebag, fuck him". That after finally managing to get him, she's saddled with an unhappy marriage where she's been pretty much abandoned and the fact that the kid she has might not even be her own is the cherry on the cake.
It's pathetic because she has never once been rewarded for her feelings, we never for a second buy her dedication to Sasuke as something noble or endearing, she's just swallowing his shit because she has no respect for herself. So as far as I'm concerned, this whole situation is poetic justice because she didn't have the two brain cells to put together that maybe she shouldn't put up with this anymore.

Oh and lol at once again, Sakura the supreme medical ninja not given a chance to show off being anything more than a house wife.
You're assuming Sakura is unhappy raising Sarada or something because that's what this whole thing is about and I'm pretty sure Sarada is an important part of her life. If she's happy raising her and if they're a "family" and they love each other Sakura has one of the greatest rewards you can receive in life, whether the kid "belongs" to her not. Whether she's married to Sasuke or not. It doesn't ultimately change the healthy and loving relationship she built with Sarada.
-
Maybe that's why Naruto is in the office all day. Trying to find a way how to break out of recession. Peace brings it's own problems. Maybe Sasuke's way was the right way after all. :ninja:
Kakashi's regime was defined by rapid unsustainable expansion, so it makes sense that Naruto's picking up the pieces from that.

Well, I'm not sure if anyone would be happy raising Sasuke's tossed Salad.

I want to change the thread title to be something about Choji's daughter, but its just too good as is right now.

HOW I MET YOUR FATHER (lets close this thread please, it's a shame this gaiden)
Are you saying you think this new 10 chapter special and the remaining anime and movies deserve a brand new thread of their own?
I guess we could remerge it with Bleach or something.
-
Kakashi's regime was defined by rapid unsustainable expansion, so it makes sense that Naruto's picking up the pieces from that.
Ending all hostilities had to bring out a set of issues. Village system worked because of mistrust between them. Villages income depended largely on ninjas performing missions. If that system is abolished, there's not much purpose in training kids to be ninjas, aside of preserving tradition.
If Kishi is trying to introduce some more serious themes, he should at least do it thouroughly. But I won't judge before I've even seen if he has.
-

I guess we could remerge it with Bleach or something.
Or create a new series called BLECHUTO: a 16 years old ninja girl who wants to become a Shinigami, she travels around the world with her dog KishiKubo fighting Hokage Spirits. Oh, and the enemy is called VoldeMadar, a vampire magician with a scar in his mouth.
I THINK I WILL BECOME RICH WITH THAT!
-
This is by Kishimoto or someone else?
Kishimoto himself.
Wasn't the whole chapter evidence enough? -

Not really feeling the love given Sakura destroyed the house over Salad questioning her precious Sasuke's integrity.
Let's just assume though, it's a warm, loving mother and daughter relationship. It doesn't change the fact that assuming she's Karin's, Sakura was just saddled with a baby of her husband's mistress to raise all by herself from Sasuke who just went k bye and left her all by herself again. There's just no reward to Sakura in this relationship but she STILL stays with him because SASUKE-SAMA IS SO HOT!!!

To be fair, I think the intent is Sakura sees deeper and more keenly into his heart than anyone else, including the readers, and sees the depths and sorrows that are there and knows if she can ease it a little its worthwhile, and carries the burdens of that, regardless of how nonsensical and stalkerish it may look to anyone else.
Or at least, I think that's what we're supposed to get out of it and it hasn't been the "he's hot!" thing since the chunin exams. Except we never actually get that depth and insight so… it just comes off badly like she can't take a hint and is a stalker... rather than a forlorn soul mate or whatever.

Firstly, it was a little kid meddling into her parents' relationship. I am pretty sure any parent would have gotten angry at that.
Secondly, the house being destroyed by her punch was a gag. Kinda like hitting an extremely injured person in the nuts for an aerial launch.@TLC:

Reward? Raising a kid is wrong for her because of no REWARD??????
Sasuke might be a douche. Does that mean she is wrong in taking care of his child who has no fault in her father being a douche?
Especially when she has seen with her own eyes how kids without parents turn out? -

Especially when she has seen with her own eyes how kids without parents turn out?Huh…. apparently every parent throws an anger tantrum(but do not worry it's all just a joke) when confronted with a logical line of questioning coming from a little kid with justified abandonment/father issues. Always learning something new.
Also it's hilarious… so haha obligatory laughter haha amazing gags. -

Oh I know what the intent is but sadly, as you say, it's not executed well.
Firstly, it was a little kid meddling into her parents' relationship. I am pretty sure any parent would have gotten angry at that.
Secondly, the house being destroyed by her punch was a gag. Kinda like hitting an extremely injured person in the nuts for an aerial launch. The house falling apart was a gag, the emotions behind Sakura punching the ground were not. Seems to be Sakura got mad at Salad because her words hit too close to the truth.
Reward? Raising a kid is wrong for her because of no REWARD??????
Sasuke might be a douche. Does that mean she is wrong in taking care of his child who has no fault in her father being a douche?
Especially when she has seen with her own eyes how kids without parents turn out?Being in this relationship has no reward, no love, no appreciation and nothing but burdens, child care included. You can talk ethics, but raising a child by yourself is a HUGE burden. And having to take care of a child, of the man you love and fight so dearly to get love back constantly, who made this child with another woman, a former enemy, behind your back, is a spit in the eye.
If Salad is Karin's child, Sakura had no obligation to take care of her and had every right to go fuck you, you cheating douche and just not put up with the shit anymore ESPECIALLY since she was saddled to take care of her by herself while her douche of a husband went gallivanting around probably banging his mistress some more.
Raising a child you just found a la Bellmere is admirable. Raising a child with your husband from another mistress is admirable. Raising a child without your husband from another mistress is questionable but admirable with the right writing. Raising a child of SASUKE from another mistress is stupid and awful and shows how far gone Sakura is as a character and how she's lost every ounce of self-respect at this point.
Sasuke is terrible but so is Sakura for putting up with his shit. They're both terrible and deserve each other.
-
-
The fact that she had no obligation is exactly what makes the act so honorable. The problem is not taking care of Sarada, but sticking with Sasuke despite everything he did. The problem is not the mother Sakura, but the wife.
I believe if she took Sarada in and then kicked Sasuke out and divorced him, no one would have a problem with it.But this is all based on assumption, we don't know if Sarada is really Karin's daughter, if she is we don't know if she was conceived AFTER Sasuke and Sakura started dating, we don't know if Sasuke really left his home because he is irresponsible or exactly because there is some responsibility that demands him to be away from Konoha… there is a lot we don't know and people are already taking as fact just based on the possibility of Sakura not being Sarada's biological mother.
-

Also it's hilarious… so haha obligatory laughter haha amazing gags.I am not sure where you live, but If a kid has asked such a question anywhere near the place I live, it would have resulted in a good lecture from the parent, possibly combined with some form of punishment, if not a tight slap right then and there.
Of course, As you said, Sarada is asking a reasonable question, which is why Sakura regrets her unthoughtout actions the very next moment.
-
You seriously think Sarada is Karin's child..?!:wassat:
mixing uzumaki-uchiha bloodline is something that sasuke probably would do, if that thing is possible

I guess it's pointless to say anything more when you are convinced she is terrible when there is literally no information on why is raising Sarada, whose daughter she actually is, and why Sasuke left in the first place.
-
Hmm. Pretty meh.
I mean, it's pretty hilarious, the kids designs are still stupid and it wasn't very entertaining or engaging in any way (and the cliffhanger was uber stupid), but, at least, seeing the old protagonists passing the torch in a somewhat, slightly, vaguely natural form is ok. Salada is showing hints of a character and that's more that can be said about a good chunk of the main cast. Sakura is still awful though.
Finaly, Sakura only having THAT photo of Sasuke? That's histerical.
-
Oh sure, this is all based on a what if. I made that clear in my post. Hell, if it's revealed Sakura took Salad, punched Sasuke in the face and told him I don't want to do anything with you any more, I'll take back every word I said. Doubt that's the case given their dialogue though.

Germany of Asian descent. That said I don't see how that would relate to anything.
Believing in adults being judged by a higher standard vs kids is very much about my own values.
I think you're a shitty adult(or rather not one at all) and person if that's your way of dealing with a kid that has every right to ask these questions. She doesn't ask them to a stranger but her friggin mother, her only contact with her dad is a photo and when your own mom can't even tell you about your dad you have every right to think "whats up with that" that's not some crazy meddling that's fucking having a brain to think.
Like you're a fucking adult how hard is it to empathize with a kid of that age without father.
Jeez I find this actually disgusting if you would reprimand a kid for this, where is the wrong doing that would justify that???Also regret does not equal repentance. Sometimes it's within reason to accept something as excusable if you see the person reflecting on it, I don't think this is one of those times. She had literally no reason to do what she did.
-
Come on guys. There's no way Salad could have found the picture of Karin if Sakura hadn't destroyed the house first.
-
Someone take that kid away from this adult who displayed irritation against the ground and then said she was sorry, this person is a danger for herself and others… and the ground. Losing composure makes you that bad of a person.
I wonder how many times we saw parents slaping kids when they are confronted with harsh truths in fiction and nobody ever condemned those people to hell for that. I mean, damn, Sakura didn't even directed her anger at Sarada.

Losing composure for no fucking reason(besides being a kid yourself) indeed does. You call those people crazy or at the very least choleric not 2 attributes I would describe as positive.
I'm still waiting for the explanation that justifies the outburst. Like I literally read it and thought wait why did she have that outburst? Was this just some weird gag that's kind of not really funny?I find Razh's comment probably the most understandable. This just being a super weird way to have plot stuff happen seems the most agreeable to me.
-
She's holding it inside for the sake of Salad. Can't be too healthy. Well, either that, or she's alcoholic.
Wonder what they watch on that TV. Well, watched.
-
She is Satan's spawn, that's obviously the only reason.
-
@.access:
She is Satan's spawn, that's obviously the only reason.
Do you mean Sakura or Sarada?
-
So basically you're problem with Sakura in this situation is that she doesn't have pictures of Sasuke and Sasuke might have just dumped a kid on Sakura that doesn't belong to her and left. The first one is moot because who cares? And the second one is Sasuke looking pathetic. Not Sakura. Why do people see it as the other way around? Sakura took on a responsibility she didn't have to and did a wonderful job at it. It's Sasuke who is the problem not Sakura. Even if it is Sakura's child and she raised Sarada by herself it's still Sasuke who is the problem. Not the other way around. Being an adoptive mom or a "single" mom is not as pathetic as you all are making it out to be. I'm sure she's perfectly happy raising Sarada despite who the parents are.
Being a single parent (don't give a damn about the gender) is beyond pathetic when it is not your child, it is not your decision and the only reason why you accepted it is from the bastard you cannot move emotionally away from since you have such a small amount of love for yourself and such lack of ambition that you can go and accept taking care of the kid from the guy that dropped you like a bad habit with another woman. If it was her own daughter, then yeah, Sasuke is an asshole period and Sakura has little ambition, but she at least got some sort of intimacy with lord dick and is taking care of the product of the "love" for his obsession, with the adopted daughter of Sasuke and Karin scenario, it's just beyond pathetic. This isn't taking care of some abandoned baby.
-
Wait, if Sarada was really the child of Sasuke and Karin, wouldn't that mean she could awaken the Rinnegan as she has both Uchiha and Senju (via Uzumaki) blood?
-
In the worst situation, she is Suigetsu's and Karin's child and Sasuke and Sakura adopted her.
-
Reconsidering, the issue is that setting up this conflict made Sasuke's desire to "redeem" himself look horrible because he abadoned his family instead and made Sakura look creepy by covering that photo like that and not explaing anything.
It's a very artificial way of creating drama. I'm sure there will be an explanation for these, but I'm not sure how natural any would be.
Maybe Sakura is protecting her or something or Sasuke was forced to be away for some reason. This chapter on it's own just felt like really unnaturally created drama. Kind of like when Law happened upon Vergo, generated drama circumstance, except I actually cared about all the characters, so forgive that writing hiccup.
-

I don't doubt that she loves her daughter, she is still the acting mother, but the circumstances of becoming a mother are beyond sad. Again, how little self worth do you have to just go with raising the kid from a guy that tried to kill you a few times and maybe hasn't even given you a pity fuck? She had no dreams? nor projects? no aspirations? just take care of Sasuke's unloved brat and be a housewife? I mean, Naruto was basically "taken care of by the village" and came out fine, hell,Naruto would have adopted her without batting an eye and since Naruto and Sasuke actually have a BOND, it wouldn't have felt so forced.

When the only reason she is raising said kid is because Sasuke said so, yes, it is pretty bloody wrong, specially with how horribly abusive the relationship between Sakura and Sasuke has been. That she seems to legitly love her Salad is a bloody miracle since in real life that sort of story would be a seeding ground of abuse.

and people are already taking as fact just based on the possibility of Sakura not being Sarada's biological mother.
No, we're talking based on the 700 chapters of the previous manga.
We have zero reason to believe any good possibilities that would redeem any of this nonsense or put it in a more positive light.
Especially when she has seen with her own eyes how kids without parents turn out?
Cheerful with lots of friends, respected by the entire village with a devoted loved one by your side,, and eventually the strength of an ungodly powerful hokage by age 15?
I mean, Gaara had parents and they tried to kill him! As a character building excercise!

hell,Naruto would have adopted her without batting an eye and since Naruto and Sasuke actually have a BOND, it wouldn't have felt so forced.
Except Hinata, being at least mildly sensible, put her foot down and said "No, we're not raising an Uchiha so they can go nuts from love cancer and make it their first priority to murder their siblings."
In fact, maybe thats the trick. Maybe Sasuke has like, 8 children. Maybe other girl is raising Sakura's daughter and this is a big swap to avoid crazy swirly eye madness.
-

That's Naruto. I was pointing towards Sasuke who lost his parents and turned into… well Sasuke.

I'm not sure how much she knows about Gaara's past. Or even if experiments on a rare bio-weapon makes parents any less of a necessity for a child.
-

You said "Especially when she has seen with her own eyes how kids without parents turn out"
and generally in this series, they've often been better off without parents than with. Living parents just try to get you killed or push horrible vendetta grudges or massive disappointment on you.
-
When the only reason she is raising said kid is because Sasuke said so, yes, it is pretty bloody wrong,
I don't remember reading anywhere that Sakura's reason for raising Sarada is because Sasuke said so. Maybe I'm forgetting something. Could you give me a link?
-
That's Naruto. I was pointing towards Sasuke who lost his parents and turned into… well Sasuke.
Well, yeah, but the issue there is that Sasuke had parents and lost them, whereas Naruto never had parents, and he turned out better. So wouldn't it be better if Salad had no parents since she'll go crazy evil if Sakura and/or Sasuke die?
Well, there's your lesson, folks: Never love anybody.
-
Neji losing his father made him a horrible bitter person as well. And Hinata was a family dissapointment. And Gaara went psycho when his died! And Shikamaru's "development" arc was losing his mentor in a stupid heavy handed way. And most of the villains in the series have some sort of flashback about disappointing their elders or losing their dog Tiny or a 13 year old girl or something.
Consistently everyone is better off with adopted parents and never loving at all. Naruto was better with surrogates, and Lee absolutely adores Gai.
Actually, does Sakura even have parents that were ever mentioned ever? I'm pretty sure we saw parents to most of the Rookie 9 eventually, but… Sakura's? No?
-

There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking care of a child who's not yours.
It's the relation to Sasuke that bothers me. -

Let me get this straight. You do agree that adopted parents are better. And yet, Sakura adopting Sasuke's daughter is not good?

Let me get this straight. You do agree that adopted parents are better. And yet, Sakura adopting Sasuke's daughter is not good?
Most of the adopted parents are doing it because if the kid.
Sakura is doing it because of the father.
Her taking care of a kid is fine, noble even. Her doing it over an obsession with Sasuke (down to rigging a photo and claiming to be a real mother) is… not so good.
Naruto never thought Iruka or Jiraiya was his father, for instance.

I see. We are in agreement then.
Only I am hoping for some kind of reasonable explanation for her behavior instead of "Because Sasuke". Maybe I have my hopes too high.
