Arceus is a pain in the ass to get in Rumble World with its healing …
Pokémon ORAS and Spinoffs: We Go!
-
-
by some miracle of god I was able to beat Regirock on Shuffle and catch it lol
-
Yeah me too. That Snorlax level helped a lot though.
Also got all Pokemon in Rumble World. But I can't beat that last mission. That's a really hard one
-
I just quit on it, haven't tried it in ages, it will eventually come back.
-
Any tips on catching bosses in Rumble World? When they "wobble", my attacks just seem to miss, right when I'm about to beat them.

I believe a few pages back there was a 100% method video to catching them. Also not sure of how much help this is, but i noticed whenever you came across one that sparkles you're guaranteed to catch them.

They're not truly wobbling if they don't have little stars coming out of their heads, FYI. When they're in that position, they're completely defenseless and all of your attacks will connect, it's just a matter of making sure to completely wipe out their HP before they regain their senses, and that's where completely clearing the field of the flunkies comes in handy.
When you have the field clear and the Pokemon starts to wobble, you can switch to a stronger Pokemon, especially one with a type advantage, and wipe the boss out relatively quickly. As the video said, if you want a guaranteed boss drop (and somewhat guaranteed on regular Pokemon), you need a Pokemon with the Gutsy trait that can learn Endeavor. Then you just whittle the boss's health down to about half or a quarter when you have it alone, use your Gutsy Pokemon to keep hitting it with Endeavor until it wobbles, quickly switch to your finisher and GETTO DAZE!
Also, thanks for showing up in my plaza and offering me a trip to the Arceus island, Hekti! It might've cost a gem, but it was worth it for three new Pokemon, Arceus included, especially since I've completed all of my current balloons (up to Black and White) and still need to amass 15 more gems to buy a new one.
-
How do you get Toxic Spikes on Weezing? With which Pokemon do I need to breed it?
-
New Mystery Dungeon game coming nice, my favourite spin off is coming back, only in 2016 for Europe though :(, I hope its not F2P but I'm expecting it to be.
-

Trubbish to Yamask to Koofing.

No problem xD
I like your Mii a lot Mugen, he always gives me a jewel ^^
Edit: so the big announcement was the new Mystery Dungeon game?
-
-
Apparently there was noi announcement, the guy that translates stuff for Serebii says that scan from the French website was fake.
This announcement came from a press release on the 21st but it had nothing to do with the scan that said a game would be revealed in their magazine.
Plus like I told you guys if it was a big announcement Nintendo would have made a direct about it probably or atleast get something out there, some hype, not just a tiny fake square in a magazine, plus main games when revealed in magazines it happens in CoroCoro.
I still believe we are getting Z or wtv they announce soon they said they were prepairing a new game and talked about yearly release which I assume is to mimic level 5 with their old Inazuma Eleven current Youkai Watch structure, so yeah expect something next month maybe, like I've said before they are making a big deal out of Arceus being in the movie not just Hoopa, so Arceus might be getting an upgrade which would be tied to the new game.
-
Mystery Dungeon could be fun. I haven't played one since Red back on the GBA.
To be honest, I'm kinda burnt out with the main Pokemon series. The series has over 700 pokemon, having to retrain a brand new team every ~year….plus catching them all seems like a heavy chore now than when I did it for Heart Gold and White 2.
Maybe I should take up competitive battling? shrug Either way, I'm fine with a cooloff period. Spinoffs like Rumble World will do fine to give me my Pokemon fix this year.

While I agree, and I still haven't picked up the Sapphire remake because of it… doing a fresh run with new and different mons is fun. There's nothing forcing you to catch them all. (especially not with the bank around)
And there's always Nuzlocke runs. Next time I do one I might do a modified run. Keep the "only use the first thing you catch in an area" rule, but leave out the death rule since that just leads to excessive grinding and brick walls if you lose members. Or do an all electric team or something.

I'm doing competitive battling since X/Y and I'm having a blast with it. I still need to learn a lot though but it's fun trying different strategies and mons out.
I'm playing and liking the games for themselves of course but the meta is great. I have over 700 hours of gaming on my Y copy and on my OR over 300 hours. Breeding and trying the teams out online is just so much fun.
And I shoujd mention that there are a lot of mons you wouldn't play in story mode but have a great value in meta gaming. That's a great experience for itself. I think you should give it a try.
And playing Nuzlocke or something like that is also great. I agree with Robby on that.
-
Meh whats the big deal with training a new team? specially if you aren't EV training and just doing a normal run, training will only consist of beating the story trainers, I'm started doing a new run just two days ago on Sapphire but well we aren't all the same but if you think its a shore to just catch 6 random pokemon and level them up, I doubt competitive battling will work for you even though it doesn't take much time either nowdays.
As for Mystery Dungeon yeah its my favourite Spin off so I'm happy a new game is coming out.
-
A new mystery dungeon?! Those are the best. If it's even half as good as the second generation, it'll be game of the year for me.

Problem is I'm feeling the F2P coming and I really hope it isn't.

don't see why not. Shuffle and Rumble World are pretty fun.

I havent played any of the f2p spinoffs, but mystery dungeon seems like it would be way too much work to even consider that.

I've always wanted to Nuzlocke, since it technically makes the games harder and lets you experience pokemon you normally would not have chosen. I was ready to go in this one playthrough for Ruby, as I nicknamed my pokemon (Masuda was Torchic, Seedot had a name too)
buuut I wussed out, since I was scared of the idea of releasing a pokemon I would grow attached to. Which sounds extremely lame I know, since the rules of a Nuzlocke aren't iron clad.
So maybe I'll play through another version with some kind of challenge in mind, but maybe I could be ready for a pure Nuzlocke run. It's times like this that make you wish each game had multiple save files.
Meh whats the big deal with training a new team?
Pondering this question has led me to remember why competitive battling isn't for me. But..
in a casual sense, nothing, I've done it plenty of times. It's only recently where the games have gotten bigger and bigger in scope where each adventure has me exploring every corner, getting the badges, and striving to complete the pokemon, where "repeating" the adventure just turns me off.
Atm I haven't restarted Heart Gold or White 2. Why not, since I've moved all the pokemon to Y? I guess it's because I've sunk so much time that part of me is attached to those memories. The point of one save file is that you really appreciate what you do in each run. Again, I know, it sounds really lame, especially since Heart Gold and White 2 were actually a lot more fun for me than Y or Omega Ruby.
But there's no reason why it can't be like my Ruby, or Fire Red, where I've done multiple adventures. Now they're older games, so the the novelty of an adventure remembered is…well, gone.
in the competitive sense, good god does it take forever. I know Gen VI made some training a lot easier, but I see all of you breeding 100 times just to get a number to a certain value with the right nature. I can respect the craft, but to me, Pokemon is the adventure. Moving back and forth between the daycare 1000+ times would just drive me insane.
Hell maybe I'll play through Yellow for the 10th time. It was my first Pokemon game ever, I know it by heart, and I love the partner Pikachu mechanic.
-
don't see why not. Shuffle and Rumble World are pretty fun.
Mystery Dungeon usually has a fun story and I dont want my gameplay halted because I've run out of energy or I can't buy a new dungeon, if I have to pay I prefer to pay for the whole game, I just dont want it to happen but I'm fully prepared for the possibility.
I havent played any of the f2p spinoffs, but mystery dungeon seems like it would be way too much work to even consider that.
The two currently out are fine, specially Shuffle because they really dont make you buy stuff, Rumble I got stuck waiting a month or so to get a ballon so I kinda quit/haven't played much for a while but yeah Mystery Dungeon please no :(.
Also this made me remember the ranger games weren't that bad but they seem to really have dropped it since 4gen, I wouldn't mind a new one coming out on the 7gen, its nice to see a diferent type of trainer, it kinda clashes with the notion of a ranger from the main games because they do have captured pokemon but still those games were enjoyable.

Well, looking at Rumble World, the game only really blocks you if you don't want to pay. So technically, they could make it a F2P game and still let you just pay for the whole game to play it without blocks or paywalls. Then it's essentially the same as buying a game on the eShop and playing it, which is what you're asking for.
As a whole, this approach of F2P games is one I'm ok with, since it allows people who don't want to pay for these games the chance to still experience them first. Which is really the point, to get people hooked first instead of expecting them to commit their money to the game before playing it.

The FP thing affects other aspects of the game on Rumble, like the roulete, want to get the map you want? pay for it, want some new buildings? pay for it, I don't that to affect the game, its not a big deal but I prefer it keeps being a normal game.
Sure and that works for Trozei and Rumble specially Rumble since I was probably one of the few people who gave a fuck and bought all the games from the people I know before the free to play came out and then I noticed how many people were surprised that the game was fun it really did work.
But yeah while I didnt pay for anything in Rumble not just because of it being F2P but also because of my financial situation, I would make an effort to pay for Mystery dungeon because I actually love the series.

My experience with a Nuzlocke is, it does genuinely make you feel closer to the mons early on, you DO worry about them more, are more mindful of switching them out and dragging along healing items…. so try that for a little while to see if it does anything for you. But for me after awhile I gave myself a "one faint" leeway rule to account for unfair crits and whatnot... but ultimately it just ended up frustrating me by being pure grind.
Go with "just the first thing you find", it makes it fresh enough without the fainting rule. That just pisses you off later. (Though if you do things that have Regenerator and U-turn become fast favorites)
-
I think they added some new things to shuffle. there is 2 heart counters now (I assume one is for the automatic regen ones and the other is for purchased extra ones. And there is a super catching power now (not entirely sure how it is triggered) I also don't think it showed the Pokemon you captured stats on the top screen right after you catch it
That's some things I have noticed so far.
-
Apparently there'll be a Victini stage for extra XP on Saturday and a Giratina stage is coming as well.
Also I noticed rare candies (?) next to the Pokemon with mega stones.

Yeah probably going to be some kind of reward or pay thing it will boost the mega pokemon abilities.
-
So you actually can catch Victini. Thought it was exactly like the Meowth stage just for XP
-
Mystery dungeon looks great :D, it has every pokemon till Hoopa it seems(basicly only Volcanion not ingame because it wasn't revealed yet) and it seems its not f2p good.
-
Only Pikachu and Riolu as extra starters though :( looks like Mystery Dungeon, so Game of the Year in my opinion. Cant waut for September.

Yeah they usually include Eevee in the group but seems its not this time, freaking Lucario is so popular lol, well unless you get the japanese version in the US it will only come out Winter 2015 so probably December as for us in Europe its first quarter of 2016, hopefully it comes out in January but yeah love Mystery Dungeon :), the city looks great from the pictures I saw.
Damn no Gen6 promotion there, just old stuff mostly Hoenn, I'm assuming they will reveal it later and show us probably how megas evos work in this game, etc.
-
Well, the free puzzle game and exploring game have been scratching the itch, but its been long enough and with still no announcement of Z apparently coming anytime soon, I finally picked up Alpha Sapphire so I'll have something to do at a con next weekend. I'd been casually breeding up a super all stars team of old favorites of mine for porting over (Sandshrew, Emolga, Poochyena, Absol, Tyrunt) Not necessarily a greatly balanced team, but stuff that I like a lot. Gave them great moves, bred them to have perfect IVs, and figured I'd be good to go. Tossed on a couple legendaries that I thought, hey, why not. Shaymin, Keldeo, and the (obviously hacked) Volcanion, because I love the hell out of Shaymin and the other two have great typings I wanted to play with.
I immediately ran into a couple problems.
1-Group is overpowered like crazy in the early game. Everything has four really good moves, so even if the stats weren't stellar, they'd still be out of the box ass kickers. Tyrunt in particular with its dragon typing feels unfair. (also double exp… I dont mind less grinding, but they're going too fast, at least at this point. ANd I think the group exp share means the rejiggered how the exp gains work back to the old formula... so its not based on relative level anymore and is a static ammount again) ) Even with a casual attitude towards this outing, I have to think I'd feel really cheap tossing in the legends... like I always do. Sigh.
2-Zigzagoon is in the first area and I hadn't really payed attention to its XY model and animations before... and it suuuper cute. And... Lotad. I did not realize Lotad would be in the very first freaking area. (Well, that invalidates 2 of the starters...) Also a favorite and with it RIGHT THERE.... ARGH. And... Poochyena? But I specially bred one for the game! And then I find one shuffling in the grass that has a really nice move mine didn't? ARGH! (and Shroomish like two areas later?!?)So. Usual curse of too many options. But how to balance the overpowered traded mons I want to play with, and the typical casual "use whatever looks interesting and balances the team" method? Hrm.
-
Man, nostalgia is hititng me hard on this one. Its been a looong time since I last played any version of Sapphire, and while I had definite standout faves from gen 3 (Absol and Mightyena in particular) I keep running into things like Skitty, where I find myself going "Oh man, I loved you! Sure you're useless, but you're so damn cute with your new cg sprite! Sure, I'll use you for a bit!" Or Whimsur. "Man, your later forms are sure ugly but…" or Nincada "oh hey yeah, I'd love to try a shedinja!"
Meanwhile my specially bred pre-made team is sitting on the sidelines a bit. I think I'll mostly keep them off till around level 30-40 or so, or maybe finding the move tutor. Around then I might feel a little better about having them.
As is one of my pre-breeds was a poochyena, and I feel bad using him... especially since I got a nvelty wild one with thunderfang. Sigh.
A team and B team it is. Will change up when I get to the water half of the game anyway I'm sure.
-
Finally unlocked Mewtwo in Shuffle but damn it is hard to beat.
What's a good team to beat it? -
Wow sees they really are going to release Pokken in the summer apparently in July, dang the game is really going to have a small roster, I assume they will add 2 or 3 more maybe till July but not that much more, hopefully its succesful and the eventual Wii U/DX version is bigger and better.

They are probably taking the same approach as Square Enix did with Arcade Dissidia released with a small roster and then add characters over time
-
Damn I guess I won't get the Venusaurite in Shuffle.
I'm placed between 18k and 19k and I don't know if it's worth to spend coins on items to place better.
-
DAmn I forgot about doing Venusaur again…I did it on the first day and never again,w ell thats te first mega stone I'm missing...
-
I hope there'll be another chance to get it like the Lucarionite.
Could catch Giratina though at lv7 and finally got Mewtwo. -
I was able to get a Venusaurite at rank #18800 (rounding down)
-
Using my free Complexity -1 and a Disruption Delay, I managed to place at approximately #13400
-
-
I finally got my Hitmonlee Collector title in Rumble World earlier today, which is nice. I also have all of my current balloons completed, and only need about 10 more gems to be able to afford a new one, which will mean starting the obsessive collecting/RNG-induced rage anew. Oh, boy…
-
Finally a new Pokemon spinoff I can get into.
-
Got Dialga in Shuffle but it was hard to beat.
Interestingly enough I spent so many hearts just to beat it but caught it with 2 turns left (which is 12%). -
So 2016 is Pokemon 20th Anniversary
What do you think guys gonna have next year as the games that have announced are Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon (2015 and 2016 for Europe), Pokken Tournament (2015, maybe 2016 for consoles? naah) and Detective Pikachu (TBA)
-
For the 20th I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did yet another remake of Red/Blue. Sure, Red/Blue's had a remake before… but by 2016 that will have been 12 years and three consoles ago. The same ammount of time between the Ruby/Sapphire remakes, and longer than the time between the original remake, or the Silver/Gold remake. .
It'll have only been 10 years since Diamond/Pearl comparatively... and that still runs on the current system.
I expect them to have Z for 2015 though, (though its getting late for that announcement, they usually announce in March or May for a November release, and we just had e3... so maybe spring of 2016) since they have consistently done the third games of a gen 2 years after the initial release.
Of course, by the 20th they'll be 3 years into the current gen and about due for a new one (3-4 years has been the norm, and last gen was small for new monsters, though once you add the ~50 Megas it wasn't too bad) , so... maybe they'll go that route instead.
