I dont care enough about naruto's story to go to the manga like I did with One Piece
I don't care enough about Naruto's story to waste time downloading episodes. But since you've already been spoiled,
! Gaara is revived from death.

PseudoKirby, I understand you're mad, but that was totally uncalled for. Please do not overreact like that again.
I don't know if there are actually rules about spoilers for other series on the forum. :P
Isnt't that entire thread filled with One Piece spoilers anyway?
Theoretically, anything not introduced yet could be a spoiler to anyone who hasn't read a series yet, like Goku sacrificing himself by moving Cell away from Earth and blowing up North Kaio's planet. Or is it that I need to look up a new definition of spoiler?

oh ok I guess,
! then revive the hokage!!

I met someone on DA that refused to belive that One Piece isnt as popular as the other big mangas/anime out there now
FMA, InuYasha, Naruto, BLEACH…

One Piece is more popular than Naruto and all those other ones in Japan.
There's a whole thread dedicated to that question, actually…http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=7939
This is getting off-topic enough as it is.
I FUCKING HATE YOU, YOU JUST FUCKING SPOILED THAT FOR ME!!!
USE SPOILER FILTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
DAMNIT I WAS PLANING ON WATCHING THE REST OF NARUTO WHEN THEY STOPPED THE FILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, holy shit. Golden.
Didn't you just say you didn't care about the plot anyway?

I said not enough to bother to read the manga, I would rather watch the anime
One Piece I was dying to know what would happen next..
@yokaiforte:
You know, there's nothing different between the anime and manga besides one being colored and the other not. In the end, the story sucks in both of them.
Oh god that was so funny to read that statment. lol I'll go to bed happy now, tonight.
I said not enough to bother to read the manga, I would rather watch the anime
Okay, yes, this is going off-topic, but if you didn't care much about the story, wouldn't it be easier to read the manga than downloading and watching the anime? O.o

in most/all cases I perfer the anime
if oda went to toei and wrote the story for one piece and they animated it without having a manga I would love it
Well, you know, manga is much more popular in japan than anime is. Except for certain exceptions, they don't get really popular unless they're manga based or exceptionally good
back on topic, i never put my two cents in here so here it goes.
I think Usopp is definitely comic relief, but i don't see anything wrong with that seeing as One Piece, while having a lot of serious things that happen, is pretty comedy based. So, i don't hate usopp for it. Also, i like how even though Usopp is comic relief, he is his own character with his own personal demons and issues he has to go through, and he's not just a bumbling storyteller solely used for comedy, he's a strong willed and essential member of the mugiwara crew.
Plus, it helps that Usopp was my favorite character up until Franky was introduced, so yay

That's exactly how I felt when I first read that. But I decided I didn't care enough about what happens in Naruto to rant about it anymore,anyways. Also looks like they did the dbz thing and just revived him anyways…BIG SUPRISE. I officially hate you Kishimoto.
Alright so like Usoop is obviously the weakest member in the crew and to me the most useless. I mean sure he helps Nami fight by making her inventions and yeah he could be considerd an " inventor " of the crew but like when it comes to a battle hes the first to run. He never gets any tough enemies at all and if he does what would he do hit them with his slingshot of DOOM?
So my question is do you think Usoop will ever start to use guns ^^? I know hes using the dials now and stuff and thats pretty powerfull but like he calls himself " King of the snipers " so youd think he would at least use a gun…
Anyway SPEAK ^^

Ugh… Not another topic like this.
Anyways, Usopp has proven to me that him having guns is useless. Plus... it's generic and would be boring. I mean... His slingshot throws EXPLOSIONS and freak'n SHURIKENS a'plenty. He doesn't need a gun.
And he's also not the most useless crew member. He may not be one of the monster fighters, but he's far from being the most useless crew member. I'd say Zoro is the most useless crew member outside of battle... Since all he does then is train and sleep.
EDIT: Oh, and it's "Usopp".
Yeah, if you look at each arc you'll see that the crew couldn't get by without Usopp. For example, Usopp destroyed Mr.3's candle set in Little Garden, saving Zoro, Vivi, and Nami.
And no, Usopp doesn't need a gun, his slingshot is more creative. Unless in get a mini-bazooka gun or something. For now, he'll use dials and his slingshot to cause damage. He can already cause a huge explosion with a breath dial.
….why is this in ADC discussion?
Ussop is far from worthless, topics like this on the other hand…
I smell someone new. And it's not because I looked at her join date.
:sad::sad: I already tried this arguement :sad::sad:

why do threads like this even exist…..
please be gentle guys. Lets try to understand her. ^^ Lets be rational.
Um, yeah, please go and read PseudoKirby's thread that he linked to, it's basically the same thread.

..ah, yes, thank you. I don't see why you can't merge it then.
I actually perfer that he's comic relief. Otherwise, I don't think I would be the Usopp fan I am today. I mean, I would hate it if he was comic relief like Daffy Duck, but that's not the case to me. Well, I don't see it that way anyway…

Now hush up.
We're all forgeting one thing, if you look back, pretty much all the SHs are comic relief when they aren't fighting or being dramatic. Usopp just hasn't fought in awhile, so he's doing more comic relief. Luffy, Sanji, and Chopper are pretty goofy in their freetime as well.
I mean, look at the latest chapter, most of the crew was part of comic relief in the last page.
Also, Zephos nailed it. He's the everyman. I mean, with every members of the crew enduring inhuman damage and doing inhuman acts of destruction (and hell, Usopp still does that too sometimes), we'd all lose perspective of damage in One Piece.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everyman
Now hush up.
"Particularly, in adventure type stories, the hero or main character is often an idealistic personality who possesses charm, charisma, exceptional intelligence, sex appeal, and a multitude of talents"
I agree, this is the best description of Usopp ever. XD
I agree with Zephos. People criticise Usopp's willingness to leave the Strawhats over the Going Merry as outrageous, but it's more natural for people to get so worked up over something they take rash actions they normally would not have bothered with (and regret them later); Usopp's lament following that fight justified his humanity.
…
He's still an incredible damage soaker, though.
I literally peed myself with laughter at Usopp and his smashed skull and how he should probably be dying a horrible death after getting his skull smashed by a freaking four-tonne bat. Mmyes.
**Usopp doesn't really strike me as much of a everyman. I mean hos many of us could say we'd still be alive after what he's been through? He rubns faster than a lot of people. He is a genius. He has perfect aim in his field of vision. His physical strengh is nothing to laughf at for normal human standards.
Though in a lot of other cases he is the everyman. I just think he's less of a everyman than everyone says. Nami seems to fit the role better.**
You need some sort of super human trait in a manga, even if you are an everyman. It's how the everyman interacts with the environment around them.
@Everyman:
Particularly, in adventure type stories, the hero or main character is often an idealistic personality who possesses charm, charisma, exceptional intelligence, sex appeal, and a multitude of talents (for example James Bond) that help them through their adventures.
If Nami doesn't have all of the above, especially sex appeal, I'll be damned.
A person will surely have a talent at something. Usopp is inventive. And a good shooter. Nami is an exceptional Navigator, and can tell the weather merely by feeling it coming whether it be her internal barometer or something like that.
Mr. Satan is an everyman character.
I don't see how guns would make Usopp any more "useful" then his Slingshot of Doom, and i give the slingshot that title out of respect for the term "Doom".
well at least this time the insaneness isn't being shoved down my neck. I'm too tired of argueing this point. Anyone new, go back and read my posts from before. "DO IT!" "NOW"
@yokaiforte:

True, but Usopp has more than one trait that makes him super. More like 4 or 5.

Having all of that doesn't mean you aren't an everyman. Besides super-navigation skills, what does she have a normal person doesn't?

Never said Usopp wasn't an everyman. Just said I don't think he is a much of an everyman as everyone makes him out to be.
@Octogon:

**He really doesn't have that much strength. He gave up at… I think it was 5 kg. And that's not too much weight.
The running away is used for comic relief, admittedly, but so is Luffy's overconsumption of meat, Sanji oggling over Nami, etc.
So he can shoot with precise accuracy on every shot. Like I said, you'll need super something in order to make it in this world.**
Remember, Mr. Satan is an Everyday Man. And he's probably stronger than most regular humans in DBZ.
> Having all of that doesn't mean you aren't an everyman. Besides super-navigation skills, what does she have a normal person doesn't? She clearly makes her way through the world through said traits. That's what separates an Everyday man from the ideal man. An everyday man is the average guy/gal. In any case, Besides super navigation, her body is a living weather center And her exceptional intelligence that held the crew down this far (Even though Robin is clearly smarter). And her increasing-every-arc bust.
> Never said Usopp wasn't an everyman. Just said I don't think he is a much of an everyman as everyone makes him out to be. If he's not as much an everyman as everyone makes him to be, then he's just comic relief left in the story.
Just to interject something; Usopp's sniping skill isn't a natural "superpower" like with his contemporaries, but a skill he personally developed. Additionally, his nose acts as a crosshair, which is one of the reasons he can shoot straight even from far away; he has an easier time estimating distance.
Even then, his bullets are not that powerful against the monsters the Strawhats have been facing; I mean, even Spandam survived one of Sogeking's flaming stars.
His gunpowder isn't that good. What can I say.
You have to admit though, 100% accuracy shooting from a tower down to a bridge that's probably over a mile away is a bit far fetched, but all in all, it's not that superhuman.
@yokaiforte:

Having any weapon that can shoot from such a distance is the far fetched bit; even then, Usopp/Sogeking has goggles to help him aim, not to mention his nose.

There's also the wind interference at the time of sniping down Spandam and co. In any case, aiming from said distance isn't something really superhuman. Just a special talent that Usopp has.
@yokaiforte:

I'm saying that's not something special about Usopp, but of the weapon he created. The Marines are using Muskets, not Rifles, so the accuracy of their guns is really bad regardless of their aiming techniques. Sogeking has not only the skill, but a weapon that can act as an extension of his skill, negating all the mechanical difficulties of sniping.
Ah, I see. I got it now.
**I'll just agree to disagree with you, yokaiforte.
though about usopp's physical strengh. He DID knock out Mr.4 with the hammer (though this could be because of hiis slowness) and he did litteraly did beat chu (at least 10x a normal human) to death with a hammer.**
@Octogon:
**He DID knock out Mr.4 with the hammer (though this could be because of hiis slowness) Yeah… I'm gonna go with his extremely slow reaction to things...
and he did litteraly did beat chu (at least 10x a normal human) to death with a hammer.
I guess there is a reason we saw all those hammer swings on him. They have the strength more than a normal human, but that does not mean that Chu's skull is particularly 10x as hard. He'll still get knocked out. if there's enough whacks to the head. And There are quite a few whacks to his head.
but to death? bah.**
