What kind of Matter-Eater Lad tier jaw strength does Hakuryuu have that allows him to bite her whole shoulder off?

The amount of weird faces Arba makes in this fight approach Tommyrod level lol. Why the hell was she naked in one of those two page spreads? I thought summoned a djinn like Paimon or something.
-
That has nothing to do with what I said. You said it's funny that she lose despite being the best swordsman,I merely point out that she wasn't using a sword.
-

I doubt she spent all her skill points on sword expertise and sucked at everything else. She made a laughing stock of 2 most experienced generals in the empire then got fucked up by a one handed teenager (even though his prosthetic hand kept going on and off).
The execution was just bad to me, there's no argument that can convince me it actually made sense.
-
That part was a little hard to swallow.
Would have been better if two generals at least gave her a wound or two before Hakuryuu got his turn.
Btw, what's up with Haku's prosthetic arm? I thought he can only use it because of Zagan.
It's not like she lost to him in swordsmanship. First she lost her weapon, then unfortunately the new weapon she used to block his attack broke which allowed him to get that major blow on her. She stabbed him in the gut, and then he caught her off guard by lunging in to bite her throat out. Being a godly swordswoman doesn't make you invincible.
-
Ffs, we're not talking about couple of years of difference in experience here.
-

Still funny even through she loses with a bisento. You just don't loose with a blade against Haku.

It should still make you better than the recently one-handed spear user(was he even mention as a excellent in it?). Especially when you are that psyched.
-
It is goddamn annoying when you said one thing and people reply you there other because they don't want to admit they're wrong. Whatever,I'm outta here.

Are you calling me out on what I found funny? Because everyone has there sense of humor.

Bye .

I like to think that Hakuryuu's hate won against Gyokuen's… uh, fanaticism. So yea, that makes sense in a shonen manga.

I'm not saying she lost to him because he happened to be better though, I think she just got caught off guard, partly do to him getting a blow in because of her weapon breaking. He wasn't able to do anything to her until her weapon happened to break when she was blocking him, and even then she instantly recovered and stabbed him through the gut.

Yeah this…And I actually liked how brutally the fight ended lol. Tearing out someone's throat with your teeth as a human takes a lot of rage and or primal fear to do. Hakuryuu was shown already as being crazy pants obsessed with having this fight. Willfully powering his way through even with Phenex actively hindering him. I'm not surprised he managed to do it.
But also thinking on it. He shouldn't probably have been able to best someone who trained for hundreds of years lol. But Shonen's law dictates that someone can have the luck and drive to win even with overwhelming odds. Well I guess not even shonen law. It happens in most stories.
-
Berserk's Guts did the teeth thing far better than little Hakuryuu :p
-
The bitting was fun.

Yeah I'm going with this. This fight is not about who is the better fighter or who has the better moves. Gyokuen's fanaticism is why she's still standing. It's why she gets colored all black in that crazy pose while fighting. The same can be said of hakuryuu's hatred keeping him in the fight. This was clearly about the emotions not fighting prowess.
I'm disappointed at the amount of contention this seemed to generate but this is AP.
-
That sounds nice in theory, but the execution sucked.
If only those 2 generals crippled Arba a little, instead of being beaten without giving her a scratch, it would have been a lot more believable.
Even Ohtaka wasn't sure how she wants to go about this, seeing how Hakuryuu's arm was switching from being unusable to being usable.
Sometimes the author just makes a mess. Don't see why there's a need to defend every decision they go with. But yeah, even in Bleach fandom, there are people who will rationalize every fucked up plot decision Kubo mashes into his work.

! @Zaipher:
! > Chapter starts off with Gyokuen attempting to retreat saying that though this wasnt part of the plan, it shall do for now but Judar stands in front of her escape. Gyokuen madly charges at but Judar smile and back turn revealing Hakuryuu now standing in front of her. She tried to act out a pitiful face but Hakuryuu reply that such action no longer holds any meaning and chop off her head. When the head fell to the floor, Gyokuen unleash an insane laughter and self destructed. a week later, turns out that Hakuryuu survive with Judar saving them both with borg and since Gyokuen destructed along with her rukh, no intel can be gathered from her. Hakuryuu is suspicious of her death but Judar replied that she was not a doll but a real living person. Some time flew by and Hakuryuu work tirelessly trying to clean up everything and finally states his claim to go after KouenJudar ask why to which he reply that the world that Kouen is trying to build is one that rips people right to anger, to create a one world whereby the peoples very pride is being strip off of so to set it right, he must be killed
Judar said that his righteous cause is super messed up, you cant forgive Kouen for taking the people's right to anger yet you yourself are the one using Belial power to create it in the first place but whatever. Since you are the king, it is natural that you need a cause for people to follow you. (there is a part after this dialogue but i couldnt make sense what it was talking about)
Looks like our battle with the world that rejects us must continue on tilll no one left but that is who we are in the first place, rejects. If my king is someone who isnt willing to move forward just because of some overwhelming odds, we will never be able to destroy the world's cruel fate!!
To fight to the end and till death! What say you Hakuryuu! Hakuryuu replied, thats should be my exact words to you, if you dont follow, i am gonna leave you behind. After the end of the dialogue, Hakuryuu ascend to the emperor
Next chapter, Hakuryuu and Kouen plans for war
I have to say that this translation is tough is it is very much dialogue and some i was not able to understand, i apologise for any mistakes
-
! Seems rushed? Gyoken did not take that much damage did she? Although it seems to be doubt surrounding her death and i guess that should've been expected.
-
! It's easy to doubt her death, since they haven't taken down Al-thamen as a whole. Besides, if they don't take her down as a whole team, it doesn't seem like a true defeat.
! Also, her body explodes? Seems like a way to cover up getting away, head chopped off or no. Either way, I think it's far from over. -
Chapter 250 Chinese scanlation.
-
! Like the chainsaw guy said in Soul eater, people don't explode[when they die . I agree with Haku skepticism. [/SPOILER]

Translation is out:http://bubblesymphony.tumblr.com/post/104741118273/magi-250-translations
! -Gyokuen tries to leave the isolation barrier in order to regain her magic, but is stopped by Judar and killed by Hakuryuu
-Gyokuen self-destructs her body, and HakuJu survives because of Judar's borg
-Judar doesn't remember what Gyokuen did to him/what his life could've been like if they didn't kidnap him (either Belial or Gyokuen is hypnotizing him)
-7 days pass until the present
-Hakuryuu says he wants to kill Kouen because Kouen's path is wrong. It has led to the black spot and it strips people of their honour. Hakuryuu wants to kill him and become king of Koue, and then the world
-Judar notes hatred is the right path for them
-Seiryu announces Hakuryuu as the new king and the army readies itself
-"Side text: Onwards to Kouen! Hakuryuu instigated a war on the world! Next chapter, a new arc!"No chapter next week btw. This week's was a double issue.
-
Gyokuen's end felt reeeally anticlimactic to me. Truthfully, a bunch of chapters were dedicated to her 'death' (assuming she really died; or, rather, disappeared from that world) but overall it lacked a real impact in my eyes. Similar to a lot of things that happened in the flashback.
What I did like though were those two double spreads at the end, portraying Haku and Judar's twisted minds. Ohtaka perfectly captured their fucked up sense of justice there and made me feel that nostalgic feeling of awe I once felt for this manga.
The last page might be the trigger for one huge battle royale, both physically and politically, that will span over a number of chapters and tell every party's story while simultaneously assembling one big picture displaying the state of the world. Too optimistic on my part? Probably. Could the next mini arc be about Alibaba and Aladdin or Sin and co instead? Maybe. But a man likes to dream. -
So they just reiterated that Hakuryuu is fueled by hate.
-
Hakryuu is still such a big baby.
-
Its me or it feel Hakuryuu is being carried by Judal(not only in battles but also in the entertainment aspect). I feel Judal is the one that makes Hakuryuu an entertaining character.
This flashback was miles better than the Alma Toran one.
-
Eh, it's only a flashback in the mildest sense. Only going back 7 days.
Yes, a reiteration that Hakuryuu is fueled by hate, but a nice way of rounding it out. If he has nobody to hate, he's empty.
-
Well looks like the dangerous duo is in full swing and going to be a dick just because. I dislike that type of motivation, it's not much better than Gyoken's fanatisicism. Also is she really even dead? I'm not sure.
That was a great chapter. It continues to be interesting to watch this Sinbad become closer and closer to the sinbad we know. Hell I would follow him if I had the chance.
-
So he is a mad dog that needs to be put down, I wonder how long the, "We need to save you from yourself", phase will last.
-
Sinbad is awesome, and Baal's full-djinn equip really looks great. I think at this point he'll remain unchallenged until he meets Judar. I guess this is the problem if you have a perfect protagonist, but it is still exciting. I hope for more curbstomping.
-
Yeah, Gyokuen's end felt kinda anti-climatic. Well, so did the fact that she was killed by Hakuryuu in the first place considering how much she was built up (then again, I thought her development felt weak, too, like most of the Alma Toran flashback). Is she really dead? Dunno. If she is, I know it's done to make a point through Hakuryuu and I really do like the Hakuryuu and Judal duo, but it still feels off. Since the flashback my interest in the series just dwindled so much….
-
Hakuryuu and Judal is the best manga duo after Johnny and Gyro(And maybe Gin and Pariston as well).
-

She's not dead. This last chapter took place before Judar attacked the conference. Hakuryuu and Judar readied their army, with the 2 generals by his side, to kill both Gyokuen and Kouen before the flashbacks began.
Somewhere in between they realized Gyokuen isn't dead yet, or perhaps that became apparent when Judar heard Aladdin's story and realized Arba would still be alive somewhere. Either way, her rukh wouldn't disappear just because her body self-destructed.
-
I don't think she's dead either. I also think there's something in that scene before the explosion that we didn't reallyy see, and perhaps there's something Hakryuu isn't telling Judal or anyone. Just as assumption tho based on somereally vauge looking imagry tho.
-
Or just that they did kill this body, but arba is still alive in alma toran.
-
Ren Gyokuen is not dead…
…Because I will never forget her.
-
The last part of the chapter was so deliciously ominous.
Alibaba better step up his game.
-
Sigh, Hakuryuu become like Sasuke.
-
People talking like emosuke invented the concept of revenge and comparing two opposite character with diferent goals and way of thinking (one that makes sense, the other that doesn't). Shame on you.

Hakuryuu don't make any sense now. his logic is complete BS like sasuke.
Shame on you. -
well, to me it helps that I can understand why Hakuryuu makes his decisions, he feels human. Whereas with Sasuke just has genetic love cancer also known as shitty writing.

Magi 251 Spoilers: http://eleore.tumblr.com/post/105872051333/magi-251-spoilers
! * 8 days after the summit, Kouen, Koumei and Kouha are having a rather somber meeting. Koumei remarks that everything we had seen in previous chapters (the rebellion and Gyokuen’s demise) is true.
- Kouha says that he heard Judar learnt some very powerful magic (it’s interesting to note that he first calls him “Judar-kun” but later corrects himself to say “priest”). Koumei mentions that while they don’t know the source of such power, it indeed exists, and Phenex’s power was also removed.
- Apparently Hakuryuu issued an edict stating that Kouen is an usurper, and everyone who sides with him will meet the same fate - death. Still, Kouha mentions 80% of the empire is on Kouen’s side, while the later remarks that if you take into account his lineage, Hakuryuu is indeed the true successor. Koumei says that such a thing as lineage does not matter.
- "Everyone, listen. I have driven Hakuryuu into a corner. I was looking down on him even more than Gyokuen. If I was not going to support making him king, I should have killed him(*)… I am to blame for that. However, I have no intention of surrendering to Hakuryuu”.
- Kouha and Koumei both apologize, and the later says that they "will follow [him], wherever he goes". (Yes, the same thing Ja’far said to Sinbad :).
- Meanwhile, while they wonder why Alibaba and Aladdin have not arrived yet, Alibaba’s household is hoping they succeed on a little sneaky mission: to go see Hakuryuu and tell him the story of Alma Torran - behind Kouen’s back, of course xD. Mor: "They will [succeed]. If it’s those two, they will definitely succeed".
- To be honest, I think Alibaba’s hopes on Hakuryuu are a bit to high. He mentions that they have a common enemy, and unless they are defeated, everyone will die. Hakuryuu just doesn’t know that, so if they tell him, the war might be avoided.
- "Even if our ways of thinking aren’t the same… he is a comrade who fought by our side in the past."
- Alibaba thinks it might be difficult to talk to him, but he will still try, while images of Solomon, Arba and Cassim are shown. He knows he will otherwise regret it, so he won’t give up no matter what - especially after looking at what happened in Alma Torran. Aladdin is thankful that Alibaba is thinking of his homeland.
- Aladdin also mentions that Kouen will be angry when he realizes what they are doing, but Alibaba just says that it’s ok, given the current confusion everyone is in. Aladdin is rather impressed.
- Upon arriving to the capital, Aladdin notices the Insulation Barrier at once, and Judar praises him for it. He wonders if they have come to see Hakuryuu, and lets them in.
- "Yo! It’s been a while, Hakuryuu!" "Long time no see, Alibaba-dono".

Awesome Sinbad double chapter this time by sensescans! And it looks like each of the current eight generals had lost love one/s by accompanying Sinbad.
-
He got a nosebleed, I couldn't stop laughing!
-
There is also Magi, chapter 251:

That Enshou guy is kinda cool.
-
That Enshou guy is kinda cool.
It's funny he's the only one who actually cared that Hakuryuu is the legitimate heir, considering Ri Seishuu and Shuu Kokuton are members of Hakuryuu's generals' clans (Ri Seiryuu and Shuu Kokuhyou respectively).
-
So Kouen isn't surrounded with obedient brutes. This guy at least shows that he's pretty realistic.
I like small details like that.
-
For a moment I thought the title of the chapter was "Hakuryuu's Imperial Edition"XD.
