I believe Rightstuf does split shipments every other Tuesday (remember reading that somewhere). Either way, in the future if you don't want them splitting the shipment you can leave a note when you are placing the order and they can hold off on shipping until everything is in stock
Yes! Just got my film Z in the mail. Of to watch it now
I just got both Season 6, Voyage 1 and Film Z. I'm watching Season 6, Voyage 1 first.
lucky. I was suppose to get mine today, but UPS showed up at a time when nobody was at my house, so know I have to wait another day or two.

Whenever I order something and no one is there, they just leave it in my mailbox.
Perona, Absalom, Dr. Hogback, and Cindry sounds reallly great so far.
Blegh, really wish I could afford the DVDs right now. I really want to hear Perona's voice.
Fuck. Something happened to my package. Even though it was supposed to be here today by 8:00pm…. its not here... and the tracking list stopped at "in transit" by North Carolina (I live in Orlando Fl)...... I called Amazon but they cant figure it out. Damn.

I had the same problem. Mine apparently got lost in transit. They're sending me a new one, set to arrive tomorrow. So frustrated right now.
Ryuma and Moria are really great so far.
Perona, Absalom, Dr. Hogback, and Cindry sounds reallly great so far.
That's great to hear , I wish I had went with the UPS option instead of USPS, So I won't get receive Z & S6V1 until later in the week.
I've been meaning to ask since we will be heading to Sabaody after TB, What is the pronunciation that you think Funi will or should go with? I've seen it pronounced as it is written (Sabaody) but I've also heard it pronounced as "Shabondy". I personally prefer Sabaody, but I just don't know which pronunciation is better suited for the dub.
So I had a scare earlier. My S6V1 was on its way today and of course, on this day of all days, they decided to close off the entrances to my road(some water mane burst or something)…so I grew concerned that even though I was able to get through the barrier and road closed sign due to living here, that the UPS truck would not. Luckily, he arrived a few hours later and I'm just about to open it up now
My box was damaged. Seems like everyone hates Amazon. Oh well; back to rightstuf for the rest of the season!
Only a few episodes in; haven't heard any voices yet.
Dog Penguin, Lola, Kumacy, and Jigoro are pretty great as well.

I prefer Sabaody, too, but I don't get so caught up in these small details as some other folks here. I was happy with all the pronunciations in film z.
I've attempted to rip clean English versions of Ocean guide from the blu-ray, with mixed results.
Kuzan's version: (This version is pretty much clean in the actual film, with Z's footsteps being the only sound effect. Conveniently, the song was on the front channels and the footsteps on the center channel.)
[FLAC](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89913256/Ocean Guide Kuzan.flac) [MP3](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89913256/Ocean Guide Kuzan.mp3)
Z's version: (Z's grunting and some sfx were on the center and rear channels and could be removed, but a lot of the effects and some voices were on all channels. The song only appeared on the front channels.)
[FLAC](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89913256/Oceans Guide Zed.flac) [MP3](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89913256/Ocean Guide Zed.mp3)
Final marine version: (The lyrics only appeared on the front channels alongside the sound effects. The instrumental version and some sfx were on the rear channels, which was used remove a few sfx during the instrumental section. oddly, the children's echoing voices at the end only appear in the English track, so the last instrumental section is taken from the Japanese track. I've also tried to make the volume a but more consistent.)

They keep switching between "Cindry" and "Chindry". It willing to bet McFarland didn't direct this.
Though I love the laughs.
My copy of Film Z should be at my house Friday.
After rent is paid, I'm gonna order S6V1 from Amazon.
The first commentary was hilarious. And I was right in assuming someone else directed. Jewel again; I hate his deadpan ironic voice in the commentaries. Anyone know when Mike will return? Hopefully for Sabaody.
I think mike is also directing Thriller Bark, he just switches between jewel and him. I mean, you see Mike direct Thriller Bark episodes in the "in the booth" Feature.
So I haven't really kept up with the thread much but what are people expecting as far as seasons go? So 6 will be what? Thriller Bark and Sabaody? And what about 7?

Season 6 ends with Episode 384, right before the Sabaody Arc.

Ah, alright. Thanks!
So think we'll be seeing through Impel Down for season 7?

Probably just Sabaody and Amazon Lily.
That's about 35 episodes.
Season 8 will probably be Impel down, The Little East Blue Arc, and Straw Hat's Separation Serial which is 35 episodes as well.
They could just combine all that into season 7. Who really knows.
I've watched up to the episode where Hogback makes his first appearance thus far. Really good casting choice for him, and Ian is doing just as good as Brook as I'd imagine he would. Finally being able to watch the scenes where he first interacts with the crew in my native tongue has been a delight.
Hildon has been my favorite voice so far; I'd forgotten about his character (it's been too long since I read this arc), but his voice is super cool. Hogback's is good, but nothing too original. Cindry seems more or less how she should be. Absolum sounds perfect, but I haven't made up my mind on Perona.
Did anyone notice the switching between "Cindry" and "Chindry"?
I'm assuming we'll get a renewal notification at the beginning of the new year. I'm really hoping there isn't a break, because the Sabaody arc is one of my favorites. Impel Down, too.
Going to start voyage 1 tonight or tomorrow. Really excited for all the new characters. I'll try and keep an ear open for the Cindry/Chindry, Zephray.
Maybe it's just because I haven't watched extremely far into it but I've only heard the name pronounced like "Shin-dree" thus far.
I'm looking forward to future releases too. Impel Down in particular. Watching that for the first time was really awesome; I probably got more of an initial enjoyment from that than Marineford because I had no idea how they were going to get out of Impel Down or what the jail was actually like, while with Marineford the actual outcome of the war was spoiled for me long before I actually got to that point. I'd figure that Season 7 will most likely be announced sometime in the first half of next year, seeing how the final voyage of Season 6 will probably be released sometime in February.

No. To me it sounds like they pronounced it "Shin-dree" for the whole set (except for maybe one instant where it sounded kind of like "Sin-dree").
Anyway, I find Hogback to be a vast improvement. Although the Japanese voice was OK when he spoke in a lower tone his higher pitched tone was always incredibly frustrating on the ears for me. Absalom is alright, and I have such a "love-hate" relationship with both Moria and Perona's original voices that I'm not sure if I prefer the dub voices for them or not.

I just watched the first disc, I think they've been pretty consistent in how they pronounce Cindry's name. But I'll keep an ear out when I watch disc 2 this weekend. I'm also really loving Absalom, Perona, Hogback and Moria as well. I'll be saving Film Z for saturday, but I did pop in the disc to hear Kizaru and I have to say I really like what I heard. I think he dragged his sentences out enough for what very little screen time he got. I don't think this will be a problem once he's introduced in season 7.
Speaking of season 7, I believe the first set will introduce the 11 Supernova's right? and finally Law? I'm pulling for Scott Freeman to play Law .
I finished the first disc just now and will probably save the next disc for some time in the next few days. My thoughts on how the Mysterious Four sound are pretty positive so far. My favorite, surprisingly, is Absalom, whom I thought was always the least interesting of the four, so the fact that he has such a good voice is making his scenes a lot more interesting than they were when I watched them subbed. Perona also sounds very good; not as nasally and whiny as the Japanese voice when doing her spoiled pouts, which was an aspect that really defined her character for me, but it still works well regardless. And Moria is very, very good; maybe it's because the rest of his lines are in English now but I don't find his "kiishiishii's" nearly as annoying this time around even though he managed to mimic the laugh pretty much flawlessly.
I thought I'd bring this to the attention of you folks.
I was browsing through the comments of Funi's FB page, and I noticed a comment showing concern about One Piece's future and such. One of the replies caught my eye…

I'm highly skeptical that anyone that worked at Funimation or was involved in the anime industry would reveal such information like that so casually. But the date and the amount sold has me questioning whether this is true or false.
Your thoughts?
Just starting voyage 1! Never bought the strong world dub so this is my first time really hearing Brook in english. And he's pretty perfect.
BTW I love that Thriller Bark is starting in October. Gets me in the Halloween mood
so nobody wants to share the love and post season 6 clips? Thats kinda harsh.
Season 6, Voyage 1 is 4 on Amazon anime dvds.
Film Z will be here TODAY.
Loving some of the script so far!
Luffy: So, hey, do skeletons poop?
Brook: Oh yes. I poop.
Sanji: DONT YOU KNOW WHAT T.M.I MEANS!?

I don't know the significance of this comment, is it a good thing or bad thing? Excuse my ignorance :ninja:
I finished watching S6 Voyage 1 yesterday, and I have to agree with most of the comments here that it was very well done and enjoyable. Honestly, I think Brook's English voice is my favorite of all the Straw Hats, such that it's pretty much the only voice I like equally in English and Japanese. (I'll always prefer the originals, but the English version is still very good.)
I'll also chime in on the script, and there was one joke that caught me off-guard that had me in stitches, so I have to gush a little about it. I checked, and it was definitely an English script addition/change, but it was hilarious to me. It's the last bit of Episode 347, when Brook is falling from the sky shortly after Franky's bridge shattering move. In the original Japanese, Brook says, "Hone dake ni… BON!!", the last BON!! coming from him impacting the ground. The joke of course comes from equating the English "bone" with the Japanese "don" onomatopoeia for heavy impacts (or booms, gusto, etc.), and Brook saying that a BON! is expected when one who's just bones hits the ground. In the English version, Brook says, "What do you call a flying skeleton? 'Air-BONE'!!", again with the BONE occuring from the impact. While the joke about the onomatopoeia is lost in translation, I think it makes for a funnier skull joke overall. I'd never heard it before, and thought it was quite clever. Props to whoever added it to the script.
Also, Film Z was fantastic.
Of course, I'm already anxiously awaiting for Voyage 2 to come out.

Other companies (such as Sentai Filmworks) have said that 3-5K units sold generally covers costs to dub/license and turn a profit. Funimation themselves haven't outright said how many copies of a given show they need to sell to break even, but it shouldn't be too far off. So, (if true) it is a good thing!

I don't think that person even works at Funimation, so I'm not sure where he would have gotten that information.
So I just kind of marathon watched all of voyage 1 this afternoon/evening and regret it. Not because it was bad. It was awesome! I just want the next set…
i know i sound like a broken record and ask this every month but when the solicitations for Janaury release hoping for the final voyage of Season 6 in January.

Let me answer this once and for all: there is never a set date; they always come in the middle of the month (13th-18th).
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm not one to care too much about pronunciations, but I always read her name as Cindry. I wonder why they decided to diverge from the manga that they usually follow (regards naming). I mean, I know the Japanese character is "chi", but still.

I read it that way too, but if the Japanese are going to make it a sh sound… I'm fine with that because names could be spelled exactly the same but pronounced differently... Take my little sisters name. It's "Alysia". Now, by just reading that... how would you pronounce that? My sister pronounces it as, "Uh-lee-shuh".. She works with a girl that has the same exact name spelled "Alysia". That girl, however, pronounces it differently. She pronounces it as, "Uh-lee-see-uh"
So, although I also always read it as Cindry... I don't think it's that big of a deal that they decided to change it ever so slightly. And who's to say they diverged from the manga... the manga doesn't have a voice so we don't know how it's pronounced. As shown with my sisters name, how it is spelled could mean nothing as to how it's pronounced.

They didn’t really diverge from the manga. Regardless of how its spelled "Shin-dree" is, more or less, how its pronounced in the original version. Then again, a name like “Cindy” appears to also be pronounced with a “shi” sound in Japanese, but that doesn’t necessarily make the “shin-dree” pronunciation wrong.

I don't know how accurate they are, but FUNi does post the numbers in the monthly solicitations. However, they don't update the figures too often.
Dec solicitations mentioned 220K (up to 11th July, 2014, according to Nielsen Videoscan)
Got my copy of Film Z, watched it last night. I liked it a lot. Never saw this movie in Japanese, so this is a first for me. I saw a One Piece product in English before seeing it in Japanese.
The voices and the script were top notch, usually FUNimation level of quality in there definitely.
If I had one gripe, it'd be Borsalino's voice. More accurately, his acting. His voice itself is fine, but…. he doesn't sound quite... Lazy enough... and I think I caught maybe ONE elongated syllable... that's it... doesn't feel right to me... I'm hoping it was lipflap issues with the speed of his lines in the movie, and in the actual series they're able to write in elongated syllables, then his voice would be perfect.
Otherwise, flawless. Loved the film too. Was nice to see the Post Time Skip Strawhats in an actual bind. Feels like they've been depicted as too OP since the Time Skip in the manga.

In Japanese, her name is written "Shindori" and Japanese being a phonic language, you'd pronounce that "Sheen-doh-ree"
I haven't seen S6V1 myself yet (Gonna order that with my next paycheck) but from the sound of things, FUNi decided to pronounce it the Japanese way for some reason.
The real question is, was Oda spelling it "Shindori" because he intends it to be pronounced that exact way, or because Japanese doesn't have a normally used character for "Si"?
It's odd because, the character set for Japanese has every "consonant" (except n) is always accompanied by a vowel. You have A I U E O, then Ka Ki Ku Ke Ko, Na Ni Mu Me Mo, Ha Hi Hu He Ho, etc. The odd thing is, S and T re these odd exceptions. Where you'd expect to see "Si" and "Ti" you get "Shi" and "Chi" and instead of "Tu" You get "Tsu".
Now, for some reason, in Katakana they DO have characters that exist in order to pronounce stuff that would normally necessitate "Ti" or "Tu", mostly for Foreign words. Those character sets are ティ (Ti) and トゥ (Tu) and you make them by taking the characters for "Te" and "To" and adding a small stand-alone "i" and "u" character respectively after each. For a practical usage of one of those characters? マーシャル・D・ティーチ (Maasharu D. Tiichi)
The reason I bring all of this up is… a curious question... would it be possible to make a character for "Si"?.... I've never been formally taught such a thing nor have I ever seen it used, but... if the goal here is to try to write non-Japanese words in Japanese... and there are a LOT of words that should just be pronounced "Si"... I mean, they keep adding new characters... there didn't used to be a character for "V", which is why "B" gets used a lot in its place, but semi-recently one was created by taking the character for "U" and modifying it, it's ヴ.
Wonder if "Si" will ever become a thing.
