I think those numbers are only based on 2 days or so though. I don't know how many days the numbers for Bayo 1 are though. Both of them are for the opening week but Bayo 2 released more than halfway through the week so out of the 7 days being looked at the game was only out 2 days or so. At least that's what I saw when looking at them.
Edit: The game came out on the 20th so it's only been out for 4 days. Not 7.
It also once again shows that the majority of nintendo fans don't buy titles other than nintendo exclusives like mario and co. when it comes to home consoles.

Still, sadly I see no chance for the numbers climbing that much higher in the next weeks. Usually a game sells big upfront and then drops in sales. Look at hyrule warriors which sold less than 100k and then dropped. Bayonetta could in the worst case scenario have even less next week.
It doesn't necessarily prove anything about Nintendo sellers. For one thing, Smash 3DS came out only a few weeks beforehand, and although they may be on separate systems, it does imply some sort of competition as to what consumers will buy.

I like it as well, though I still believe we'll only get them for special circumstances and not for big title releases.
For instance Bayonetta 2 got one because not many people know it and the game really needs it. Sure Smash got a demo but I feel that was only because it was released in Japan earlier. Had they released simultaneously I doubt we would've gotten one.
This is just my opinion however, and despite it I am grateful for these demos and hope that we'll continue to get more.

I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

By "not many people know it" I meant as in understanding how the game plays/feels. Not of it's existence.
Heck I've known about it for two years and, while I was excited for it, this demo was what really conveyed the game for me. Unlike simply knowing what it is and watching various videos.

edit: got it and im loving it. i've gotten used to the touch screen controls. but its a little hard to do the evade cause im not used to the fast frame rate, that and i have no big tv to see everything with. (i was using the Wii U controller screen)
Im a big fan of bayonetta i bought a wii u just to play bayonetta 2 anyways i downloaded the demo and i love it its even better than the first game.
I've yet to play the demo myself, but I watched my brother play through it and looks like a lot of fun. I'll play it for myself later today.

I played a little bit of the demo…...certainly fast paced and chaotic! Took me a while to get used to the controls, but using Witch Time feels so cinematic and breathtaking.

Is this game all about score and combos or is there any challenge to just getting through the levels? Because I was playing the demo at it really felt like the dodge thing was overpowered. You press R2 and get like 5 seconds invincibility to literally everything.

If it's anything like the first one, it gets harder as it goes on.
The first Bayonetta was a challenging game by modern standards. So it probably gets pretty hard, especially if you do the higher difficulties.
Cool cool. I enjoyed w101 and Metal Gear Rising so I'll pick this up.
Hopefully it won't have a shit camera this time around
Reviewer embargo is up and the game is getting rave reviewers. Perfect scores almost across the board. So far the only negative review I've seen is from Polygon who took issue with the games sexualization to the point they say it ruins the game, further cementing that Polygon is terrible and their reviewers shouldn't be bothered with. But hell, they still gave it a 7.

Sure the nintendo exclusives are good and I will gladly play and enjoy them, but without bayonetta and maybe some other awesome exclusive japanese game down the line, I don't know if I would have gotten a wii u.

Honestly the demo was just an instant seller for me even when I was already intent on buying the game. I mean that in the sense that, as someone who's never played the original or Devil May Cry, it really laid it out pretty easy as to how to get into the system and do glorious witch time shenanigans along with the combo system.

Yeah, it'd be weird to start with the sequel (even if Tomorrow is Mine is beautiful). Besides, that's the whole point of including Bayonetta 1 with the game - newbies with a Wii U don't have seek out the 360 or PS3 versions.
As far as I can tell, there isn't going to be much connection in story. But the simple fact is Bayonetta 2 appears to be a superior sequel so it's always best to play the lesser game first. It's going to be really awkward to play Bayonetta 1 for the first time after Bayonetta 2.

It's every copy so far. But I wouldn't doubt that it'll be phased out in future printings. But that probably wouldn't happen for a bit.

My brother bought the game earlier today and I watched him play Bayonetta for a bit with the Samus and Link costumes. Good stuff. I'll save both of them for later, though, since I currently have other games that need beating.
Got my copy with both games yesterday, but only played through the first chapter of bayo 1 so far.^^ Tried Peachs costume and the cutscene in the graveyard was sure funny with it.

well in my experience, its best to take them one at a time. Dodge often, cause their both fast.
Before I even play the game (later), how do you get the Nintendo costumes? Just registered it with Club Nintendo.
