@Purple:
It's… interesting... but I don't really get it? I get the gameplay and it being built around tagging enemies then shocking them, but... is that it?
Wasn't MegaMan all about running and shooting?

But I mean like, so you tag them, and then you stand out of harms way and just do an electric shock attack that transmits directly to the receiver? Megaman required timed shots and figuring out enemy patterns and making use of the layout to take down an opponent, but here it seems like you just need one and you can just electrocute your opponents without too much of an effort. Like I feel I need another trailer with a bit more actual levels to get a feel of how this game's supposed to go because it feels kinda static compared to what this game seems to want to feel like, the Zero series.

Cross-buying is now implemented for at least one game. Hopefully a feature that will eventually be updated to at least the virtual console library.
So my hopes are up that there is cross-buy for SSB … Or at least a discount
I doubt they'll give one away for free, since they're two separate games, but I could see a discount happening.
Doubt it. They're different games and coming months apart. If anything, maybe they'll have a discount for the 3DS version AFTER the Wii U version comes out to make sure both keep selling.
Yeah, the SSB games are pretty different in content, and in theory they'll only offer the dual buy option for pretty much the same game at its core. At most SSB will be getting is a discount.
But still, this is definitely a good step in the right direction over all.

So I finally decide to go purchase a Wii U with the whole buying mario kart 8 and getting a game from club nintendo. I got the Zelda Wind Waker Wii U, mario kart 8, got the New super mario bros. U from club nintendo and reserve Super Smash Bros Wii U. So far I loving it, really enjoy the multiplayer in mario kart 8 and super mario bros. Is there alot of 5 player multiplayer games out for the wii u yet?
I also just recently bought a wii u. The mario kart bundle and got wind waker for free. I believe super mario 3d world has 4 player co op, but only local and not online unfortunately. There is also the new announced splatoon multiplayer shooter, but that will come out in 2015. Other then that I personally don't know what other multiplayer games there are besides smash bros. Will hyrule warriors feature multiplayer?

Musou Warriors usually have multiplayer so yeah I expect at the very least 2 player
Iirc it will feature local multiplayer in the form of one person on the tv and the other on the gamepad
Anyone else having problems with the 3DS system update?

It works now! I guess too many people were trying to update earlier

North American peeps here can now get Kid Icarus, Metal Torrent, Donkey Kong Jr. and Paper Mario for 200/250 Club Nintendo coins, until August 3. First two are on 3DS, latter on Wii U.
It's a shame that NoE doesn't join in, I have tons of codes flying around, just waiting for awesome rewards, but alas.
I'm thinking of taking Paper Mario since it's been forever since I played it and I never actually owned it on N64 (just borrowed it, but fell in love). But first I want to see what the gold/platinum rewards are…

I think I'll wait until the reward announcements as well. Of course, I've never played Paper Mario or Thousand Year Door (ducks), just Super Paper Mario, so it'll be nice to experience it for the first time "for free".
Super Paper Mario has immense charm but it's got nothing on the turn-based and badge-based system of Paper Mario (and TTYD is also amazing).
Oh man, Paper Mario takes me back…..should I get it? I mean, I've still got the N64 version just fine....plus I probably don't have a viable controller.
edit: oh wait, I see the announcement. What will my Platinum status get me~?
edit2:....wait, the status resets in July onward???
They haven't announced the gold/plat rewards yet, that's why I'm holding off. And it resets at the start of July yeah. But if you had gold/plat at the end of June, you're eligible.

oh….good, then.
Also I just registered my 3DS (why didn't I do this sooner). Got more coins than I thought!

Don't feel like the odd man out I myself have only played Paper Mario and Super Paper Mario and like the latter more.
But now I wanna play Thousand Year Door just for contunity's sake

Highly recommend it.
I remember one day at Gamestop, me and my brother had to decide between two Gamecube games…..TTYD and a Spongebob game (what? this was many years ago). The choice had to be picked with eeny-meeney-miney-moe. Guess which one got picked?
So glad Paper Mario won out. If you liked the first one, you'll like Thousand Year Door.

Was it Spongebob? It was spongebob wasn't it

Wait, how does this have an effect on the gold and platinum rewards?
From what I understand, the coins you spend aren't deducted from your status, and when the rewards come out you don't have to spend coins to get them. Also, I thought the Nintendo year had already ended, at least for me I was platinum and then starting July it went back to zero and I'm almost at Gold already xD
But still, I'm so confused about your comment.
Also, I'd jump at paper mario if I hadn't gotten it on wii virtual console years ago. Fantastic game.

Mostly want to figure out what's there, what I want, and what to do with the free $10 in store credit I got from that deluxe promo, before moving on anything. Also paranoia that they'll put the game both places.
I just hope that for once they have a reward that's truly desirable or exclusive. As it is, feels like almost all rewards are Mario or Zelda things.
They probably figure that most people probably have mario or zelda games so they don't lose much by offering them for free, some people maybe picking it up for nostalgia or maybe to introduce a few stragglers.
Sucks regardless though
I was thinking more of actual merchandise. As much as I like games, I can often get them as rewards with coins, so I love things like figurines and such.
Well I for one am hoping Link's Awakening DX will still be there because I got a real itch to play it after running through LttP. I mean, I have the original LA cart but I would not mind the DX version on my 3DS.

I'm in the same boat, I'd rather it be figurines or Soundtrack CDs as opposed to actual games, unless the games are really compelling. Still somewhat angry that I missed the Majora's Mask CD from last time.

Because no one wants to shut up around here about Link's Awakening, I recently started replaying it on 3DS (but srsly tho, I'm happy to be reminded of it). I'm working on a no death run and getting all 12 photos, minus the alternate one with Link beat up by the photographer.
Nostalgia's running it's course, it was the first handheld game I ever had (monochrome and everything!) that came with the Gameboy Pocket, plus my first entry into the Zelda series. Which is a really bizarre entry point, really, considering the amount of characters that closely resemble Mario characters, as well as enemies.
I also remember being stuck on the 2nd dungeon forever. The owl statue in the dungeon says that you need to "kill the pols voice first and stalfos last" in order to get the monster key… but how in the world was 7-year-old me suppose to know what a pols voice was, let alone a stalfos?
So I just got a $30 amazon gift card for slogging through an Mcat trial section. Should I buy the wonderful 101 or get a pro controller mostly covered or other?

101!101!
get the pro controller for smash later!
I mean I'm already planning on getting the GC adapter (I have four controllers and I'm already adapted to them so it'd be a waste not to continue using them at this point), so right now I don't really need it other than as another controller to use with Mario Kart 8.

I would say it depends on the situation. If you're at a point in which you will be having groups of people over for Mario Kart playing in the near future, and you need the extra controller, then yea, go for that.
But if that's not the case, W101 seems like the better option.
Amazing Star Fox Adventures deal on Amazon! Who's interested?
That shipping cost is a fucking killer.
Well, I know what I'm spending my $30 amazon credit on now
I think I'll take my $999,999,999,996.00 and go buy a bike instead walking to catch Pokemon can be hell on the feet.
So just like Mega Sableye Mega Diancie also gets Magic Bounce, nice to see more pokemon with the ability.
Also seems like next CoroCoro will have a Mega evolution scoop so I'm expecting 3 or 4 megas to appear, Camerupt, Sharpedo and the Latis being most likelly shown, I really hope they redesign the Latis mega form so they dont look the same after mega evolving.
Hey, guys, I was wondering, have any of you have sent your 3DS systems to Nintendo for repair before? If so, how was your data (Mii Plaza, Friends List, etc.) affected? I ask because the right hinge on my 3DS is cracked almost completely, so every time I open it and close it, I'm risking the thing snapping off entirely and once that happens, damage to the top screen is inevitable. I would love to get it fixed, since having to worry about every time I open and close my 3DS is a pain in the ass, but having to re-add my entire friends list (which would mean contacting 100 people) and redoing the Find Mii and Puzzle Swap games would also be a fucking pain.
Luckily, I'm still covered by the warranty, even though apparently Nintendo isn't all too keen on repairing hinge cracks for free. Still, this shit wasn't user error (I've never dropped my 3DS), so it's all on them. Hopefully one of you has an answer for me, but if not, then I'll call Nintendo tomorrow and ask them about it.
Best Buy is doing some Nintendo deals in the upcoming week of 7/20-7/26.
-$30 Pro Controller
-B1G1 select 3DS games (They're pretty legit games, too)
!
Damn I might finally be able to get Bravely Default after all this time:ninja:.
I'm personally setting my sights on Kirby triple deluxe and maybe Pokemon X along with a pro controller, but we'll see
Why couldn't this have been announced before I got paid and bought A Link Between Worlds? If I'd known, I would've held off and gotten Bravely Default for free! >_<
Hmm, then again, I'm not that far into A Link Between Worlds, so I could return it and then re-buy it at Best Buy…
Ugh, I've already bought 4 games this year and that offer would make 6 games in 7 months…
Incredible deal - all of those have been out only a year, half of those just a few months old
