@Harvady:
As it has been stated previously, going for a gotcha will bring about consequences for the rest of town. Those who do not attempt a gotcha will reveal themselves as power roles or scum-hunters. Those who do go for gotcha reveal themselves as the opposite. In respects to my claim, it is not about claiming the truth, but rather claiming one's intentions. So I pose a question to all: Is fake-claiming your gotcha a criminal act if you truly have no intention to become a fool?
In that case, I don't think it's inherently criminal, but itis incredibly detrimental to the town nonetheless. The only way I can see the town using fake-claiming as a benefit is for a power role to bluff achieving a Gotcha to avoid being lynched. I don't know how viable that strategy is since it is very risky, but I think it could be pulled off.
@Harvady:
To that end, not claiming at this point isn't a viable option. Cooperation from the other players is paramount, and refusal only draws suspicion upon oneself. So a potential fool's only option is to lie. Second question to all: How many among us are actively trying to be fools?
I don't see much worth in asking this question. Nobody will outright state they will try to be a Fool. They act against both the town and the mafia. It'd stir up some trouble for sure, but only someone who likes to play risky will even attempt it. It's a good question to keep in mind, though.
@Harvady:
As you've stated, mafia would strongly discourage any attemps to go fool. Power-roles can't use their abilities if they become night-fools, mafia is no exception. By making a list you force the honest to disregard their gotcha and the deceptive to make a fake claim.
If mafia won't go for fool, then they won't lie. Ability users aren't any differnt. The only liars are going to be vanilla townies. That means that catching liars is just another way to reveal villagers without power-roles. Process of elimination also means that mafia will figure out who has abilities.
That means that this list serves mafia only.
It's very true. The claim list appears to serve mafia more than it does the town. The pattern of Gotchas could be false for all we know. If some townies have lied about theirs and are too afraid to retract their Gotchas, or are planning to achieve theirs. The mafia could have falsified all of their claims as well to cause some chaos. I know this contradicts what I've said before but, putting more thought into it, the Gotcha claim list isn't as helpful as I would like it to be.
@Kaitouu:
First of all, he was already part of my sus list and I was holding off my vote until the near end of the phase.
Why wait till the end? The longer you wait to vote, the more likely it is to appear as bandwagoning. Were you waiting for someone else to start it instead of you?
You're slowly rising on my suspect list with every new post you make.
@Foolio:
Based on behavior I think it's a reasonable lynch, but I'm actually a little nervous that he's achieved his Gotcha. It does NOT help that when people point out repetition such as the sideways smileys, he just goes and posts more of them mockingly. It's really not funny and sounds like he's not interested in being serious.
Don't worry, I have my reasons. I'll quit with the sideways smiley, though. It's probably going to cause me more harm than good at this point.
@Foolio:
It's a pretty spoken consensus. Have you not been paying attention to the conversations?
Let's just say I'm very specific on my semantics. Need to rework my mindset for a game like this. (If it has been outright stated by multiple people to not instead of people saying it's anti-town, my bad.)
@Foolio:
Well, Sky and Mastello are kind of in the same general position. Neither has really pursued anything. Sky's posts seem more or less reasonable to me though, at least for early Day 1 posts. The problem is she went silent, and keeps claiming hunches and suspicions that she won't talk about. The day is coming closer to an end and that's not really acceptable anymore. Mastello, on the other hand, has continued to be active but continues to be useless and not change his behavior at all in the face of criticism. It's actually starting to annoy me a lot and I'm starting to feel OK with his lynch.
(going to use your post for a segue) I understand the case for Mastello more than Sky at this point. Not to the point of voting for him just yet, but still. He doesn't seem to be too defensive about his vote, which is strange. He's being as passive as ever with his responses. I can't get a good read on him; makes me feel uneasy. I might pull a vote on him, but I'm still reluctant in general to vote for anyone today. Never really been in my character to lynch Day 1. My argument is the same as Kitsune's essentially. I just wish I was the one who made it first instead of him.
@Foolio:
Another one that raises eyebrows in that respect is Sky. 7 different votes? That's a huge number. 7 times? And you're going to have an instant target for flip-flopping onto half the player list. I don't buy it.
I'm thinking that can also include unvoting? If it isn't, then it does seem way too unreasonable like you said. However, that attribute of her claim makes it seem like, to me, that it's more real. I don't think anyone would make a fake Gotcha that obviously absurd if it didn't have some truth in it. Sky, would you care to explain further your Gotcha?
