@LUFFYSMC:
Hasn't it been like about a month, or a month and a half? Not to long ago
The last break was between March 2nd and March 16th.
There's usually a break near the end of July/beginning of August, so that'll probably be the next one.

What an awesome episode, loved every bit of it. Hawk Rifle, Thor…. What else could you ask for.
Damn I can't wait anymore
! How long until the Sabo reveal?
At the current pace, it should be in September.
Why did no one tell me Chinjao had eaten a duplicate gum gum fruit and had all of Luffy's powers? Cause holy shit - this blew my mind.
Everything pre-commercial break was absolute donkey dung. Cheap animation, god awful art, pointless filler, bland attacks, etc etc.
The second half was slightly better, although the flashback was neither comical, nor dramatic, nor engaging.. and the pay off at the end was hampered by, again, cheap animation. So you tell me what's left.
@Miss:
This screen capture just reminded me that these haki effects are already starting to get overused. We have entered the age of flashy one piece, there is no turning back, buggy must be in control of creative design now.
The beginning parts where Chinjao was copying every move Luffy throws at him was hilarious
It's ridiculous how they keep using the same 4 audience shots one episode after another. I'm so sick of that.

Yeah, that was not depicted very well. The clash radius should have been closer to Chinjao since it's really hard to believe he has that kind of kicking range. Instead it looked like he suddenly turned into Blue Gilly or Sanji.
Ok this hasn't been brought up yet, this isn’t splitting a ice continent, this is putting a hole in ice, the only reprieve is that the crack extends off frame, but this minor comfort is easily destroyed once you peep the original creation and notice it's a canyon NOT a lackluster connected crack(check here: http://img.batoto.net/comics/2013/08/28/o/read521e82e8f4208/img000007.png)
This is a major issue, I personally consider things like this morally wrong, this is not artistic interpretation(which is fine) this is defamation of a body of work directly changing the characterization of the characters and the scenes. This serverly underpowers Chin which in turn underpowers young Garp, which again in turn, underpowers EVERYONE any of them has ever fought(including Lucy and my APforum namesake.) This is especially peeving after that "haki clash hurricane" in eps646, but what pushes this eps. over the edge is the fact that this toning down of Chinjao and the other characters through him, is 100% pointless, it's all so Chin and co. can be at the bottom of the screen instead of the side, say one line, then laugh. What is so wrong about standing on the side of a big crack?
Look I will say this if you have an anime where important scenes containing the main caracters are overly "epic" and scenes containing minor characters are overtly seen to be under "epic" it DOES NOT give an acurate portrayal of what the main characters overcome, which changes the original feeling and tone the author intended. It has the opposite effect of making the main characters seem "cool/strong" and makes the entire series(not just the characters) seem weaker including the mains, until its epic moment time then it's "see, look how crazy strong the mains are, isnt this cool?!"
Seriously ask yourself, which is more of an accomplishment: A) beating a guy that could split an ice continent. B) beating a guy that could put a hole in an ice continent, oh but by the way you two made a human hurricane from a punch during the fight.
Even the 8 mountains Garp did away with are weaker because of this. Rant over, i've been holding this one back since Sanji was shooting baby meteors on FI.
P.S. No rant not over, I'll quickly mention an even more important reason why things like this are real life morally wrong. It reduces the options of the original creator. Maybe Oda was saving hords of flying people and fireballs from kicks, he was saving dragons for PH and my was it nice, but it just wasn't as big of a deal after that "old dumb dragon/little dumb girl" arc. Anime canon is stealing potential powerups, derivatives shouldnt steal, or downgrade anything only respectful embellish.
Would you say the Chinjao ice split was only the tiiiip of the icebeeerg?~
! I don't get it either; I just saw an ice-related pun opportunity and fuckin' took it, man

They really did overdo it with the Conqueror's Haki feedback,I think they should have omitted the smoke like effect, the rings are Hasshoken so that is ok. As for the second part, I have to disagree, Chinjao jumping into the air to finish the job looked pretty nice.along with the clash itself. I think its not too far fetched to think that he can counter Jet Gatling,Hasshoken is like some Shaolin Monk tier fighting style in the OP World, and he is a vet anyways lol.
I should re-watch these Colosseum episodes in a marathon, I feel like it would be more enjoyable in that kind of format instead of waiting week after week.

This inspired me to make a crappy joke.
How does Gold Roger laugh?
! Har D. Har

i did that on sunday it is much much better like that.
Oh maybe Gol D rogers laugh is the one piece that is why you need a D in your name to understand it. I also had to take this opportunity.

Just like the manga then. And it's hard to call such a ridiculous conclusion a "pay off", anyway…
I watched it on Tv. I have to say art and animation were good. But the direction was so childish.
Punch confrontation
Gatling confrontation
Stamp gatling confrontation
2 Punch/headbutt confrontations
The filler only made the cannon redundant. Oda gave them room for tons of filler fight, they only came up with a spinning top.
Welll maybe the want to start a beyblade series next.. maybe the next filler would be about a guy that ate the spin spin fruit (beyblade beyblade fruit.):wassat:
I finally saw the episode in a marathon, and I must admit, I didn't like it at all. This is one of the examples of them not adding filler in the right places, i.e the flashback. Instead, to save money, they waste their time on cheap looking fight animation. I do not believe this episode was impossible to do properly with one chapter, because there was just enough hints for a solid idea of what to do. I blame it on terrible staff if anything.
