Pewdiepie has gotten an early copy of the game (because he's Pewdiepie) and he's started a playthrough!
The game looks more and more awesome. And it looks like they did the opening movie in the style of Ralph Bakshi.

I got exited thinking that PewDiePie was parodied in the game.
Did you seriously just link to Pewdiepie, Satsuki? Have you no class? XD

Have you no sense of decency? Get off your high horse! Just enjoy it!

But my high horse is just too tall, I risk breaking my ankles to dismount.
I just got home from watching my friend play the game and without spoiling anything, this game is great! I never thought I would be excited for a turn-based RPG before but this game changes my mind. Its like you're in an actual south park episode. Though one question seems to elude me: Can you play a female douchebag?
Yes, it has been stated by the creators/studio that you can play both genders.
I actually don't think you can since it wasn't an option in Pewdiepie's first video.
Those screens that play in the censored versions of the game are pretty funny.
So haven't seen the scores yet(not that I really care) but I read the rps review http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/03/04/wot-i-think-south-park-the-stick-of-truth/
I think the one important factual thing is the game doesn't seem to break the tradition of buggy obsidian releases.
So buy in at your own discretion.
I'll keep the title on my to go to list for a few months down when gamebreakers have been fixed. As amusing as the hat break was in New Vegas I'm not sure I want to experience a repeat of that.
If you can tolerate the bugs it should be a fun experience as most obsidian games.
Played for about an hour, got to recruiting tweek. The world is awesome, and you can wander around into other people's houses and explore too. You're able to hit pretty much anyone and some objects has cool effects when you hit them. Like whacking the antiono blow up doll "twangs" his penis.
Dialogue is hilarious, and you really do feel like you're in a south park episode.
Got the preorder pack, wearing the samurai armor atm. Looks sick.
haven't encountered any bugs really, gameplay is pretty smooth.
I think Butters may be my favorite character from the game… Reminds me of Minsk from Baldurs gate so much. seriously, they made him very likable in this game
This game is incredible. Alabama Man / Antonio Banderas Love Doll / Chinpokomon!
I'm at the Alien part cause I got fed up with button mashing. Apparently it lets you past it eventually? Can anyone confirm this?
Also, it might have been stated prior, but Ike saying "I'm gonna be the Pirate King". I don't wanna spoil anything, so you'll just have to find Ike if you have no clue what I'm saying.

Just started but noticed that yeah haha. And Kenny's dedication to his role is so funny.

! Are you talking about the button mashing event where you get the anal probe or where you have to free Randy? If its the latter it is purposely hard for the first couple of times just to fuck with you (and fuck with Randy, sadly.)
I have to say all the Randy parts are fantastic, especially when you walk into Stan's house and there is Randy in his underwear offering you a beer and to watch Sportscenter with him.

I have had the game lag once for me but other than that I have had no problems with it
Just finished the game, with all the sidequests as well. Not sure how many other tidbits I have left, but from my perspective this game is a done deal for me. I LOVED it. Usually when I play a game I suffer from getting too anxious when I'm far into the game and want to know how it ends. So I rush through it on instinct and I miss a lot of things. The combat is superb, the humor is on point and the racey stuff is on full display. Unfortunately (for me):
! In the end, you can't play as a girl… "kinda". You're locked in being a boy due to the characterization of the show: where the boys are the centerpiece and you interact mostly with them, while the girls are treated like a whole different race/faction and you have to get them on your side. You can however cross dress as there are female clothes, wigs and make up and much more can be accessed when you do the girls' mission. If you just ignore the "hes" "hims" and other third person phrases you can play as a girl if you have the right look. The game for the most part leaves player ambiguous.
What is the game length if you do everything? I really haven't done anything but watch a short video of the gameplay and it does look epic.
Goddammit I can't get the wireless internet on my PS3 to connect at my mom's house (where I'm staying for the next 10 days) so I can't redeem my code. Grrr.
In the meantime though, I have been playing and it's fantastic as predicted. I just played the sidequest for the City Wok and I nearly DIED laughing. "Oh herro, Mongorians!"
incoherent garbling
Why . . . .WHY is Al Gore such a freaking hard goddamn boss!? FUCK YOU AL GORE!!!!!!!!
I had issues with him too, but Jimmy's sleep song makes the fight pretty easy.
This game absolutely destroyed my week last week. So good.

Tell me about it. And you can't just leave him for later until you level up because he keeps fucking spamming your facebook. Spamming gross and burn attacks and stocking up on health potions worked pretty well for me.
I swear to God he's one of the most annoying things (next to Canada) about the game and intentionally so I would bet.

You thought Canada was annoying? … what?!
Oh it was fun, in an ironic way, which was completely intentional on the game's part. The game basically turned into a shitty rpg which involved a lot of busy work of doing this then this then this instead of exploring with side quests and have the quests not be so linear and go to point A to B-ish. Which is fine because I think the game was trying to make the point that this is why everybody thinks Canada sucks. Even the Canadian patrol guard says as much when you leave Canada.
I BEAT AL GORE. Dear God it was so annoying. But with the help of Jimmy (and a lot of burning and backstabbing) I was FINALLY able to take those bastards down. Jesus.
I also went and fought the battle of the school, where I chose the side of the elves and battled Cartman. Another case of Good God so funny where several times I had to face off with him and his giant blazing fart by button mashing to keep my fart going to blow his away. I almost made it except I was laughing too hard to succeed. Damn it.
Never have I witnessed a franchise so perfectly transit into another medium and represented precisely.
Holy shit.
It's like literally playing the show.
Awesome game indeed, my favourite buddy was obviously Butters with his Professor Chaos ability, but Jimmy and Cartman (his ultimate is mass cursing, it's funny as hell) were also good. If I had to nitpick at something, it would be the RPG elements, where at later levels, healths and damages seem to be skyrocketing, and you can easily exploit burn+bleed stacking on almost everything, aside from that, it's a very well made game, eagerly waiting for the DLC-s.
8.5 for me (on an IMDB scale, not on video game reviewer scale, where even a 8 is shit)
I really liked the game. It's a testament to it's brilliance that during the epic raid of the Final Boss's fortress, you have to climb up a gay man's ass.
I think my biggest complaint is the game doesn't have a lot of replay value. Like is it worth it to play as another class when it's just going to be the same side-quests and story. The only deviation I saw from my first playthrough was whether you sided with Cartman or Kyle which probably leads to the same ending anyway.

Yeah, it leads to the same outcome. I liked the game enough to want to play a second time to pick up trophies I missed (most had to do with wearing certain equipment or such during boss battles). Also tried a different class and I do think the classes play differently enough due to their abilities but at the same time you are right not much else changes so not really worth replaying immediately. That said, I can see myself picking it up again later on when the jokes aren't as fresh just as I would do any south park episode.
Really love the game though, excellent atmosphere that replicates the show in looks, feel, and all. Plus amazing music. I still enjoy seeing conversations about the game even if I personally moved onto Dark Souls 2 now. (The short length of the game was a good thing in this case imo since it gave me time to move onto other games and never got stale).
Seeing all the references around made me feel nostalgic to rewatch some episodes even - especially chinpokomon haha. Easily the best collectibles.
Welp, fighting the giant Nazi Zombie Fetus was an interesting experience. It took me a couple tries because of its damn self-healing from it's umbilical cord, until I realized the umbilical cord itself was a separate entity. Once I realized that, it was smooth sailing.
I can see playing through this one more time, even if the classes aren't THAT different. I'm enjoying the gameplay enough, and damn if the situations aren't so weird you want to play them again just to see them again.
I liked the game, especially the immersive world. But i cant help but think that they went overboard with all the shock/gross out humor. I dont mind seeing it on the show occasionally, but in this game i feel like they neglected some of the clever elements, particularly the character based humor from the Show. Im not prude by any means, but in my opinon all the "Gross out" stuff in the show works so darn well because it often comes out of the blue and catches you completley off-guard. In this game it became Predictable pretty damn fast.
It would have been cool to if at least one chunk of the story took place in a more grounded setting with the kids temporarily going back to their "regular" daily life, putting the stick of truth aside for just a moment.
It confuses me somewhat because i know Matt and Trey always say that their "Simple" Episodes with the kids just being kids and the humor deriving from the way the characters play of each others are their best ones. (Casa Bonita etc)
This is by far the best game i've played during the last years, it felt like 10 episodes of the original tv show. I couldn't stop laughing for ten minutes when i failed the abortion with randy. There is so much detail in this game, i love it.
Having finished the girls' quest (Canada was an experience, let me tell you), and now having access to their shop, I will now be able to officially dress my PC in drag armor/outfits, plus the wigs/makeup. Playing as close to a girl PC as I can get in this game.

Matt Stone says they are "leaving the door open" on making a sequel. Although this was asked shortly before the game launched, so I wonder what their opinion is now.
This game is amazing. I'm at the school, and I need to learn how to use farts to powerup explosions? >.< Seems pretty redundant but I'll do it. This game is hilarious though, makes me want to netflix the entire show. Butters is pretty likeable in this game, but halfway through the first level I ended up pretty much repeating the same sentence "Shut the fuck up butters."
I lost my self when Butter's dad sent me a facebook message apologizing for butters.
