And one more thing, can u please add "v2" to your every new episode's name, it getting confusing for me, or is it only me.

We have a habit of making people confused.
Crunchyroll just announced that they will start backlogging their releases with 20-30 episodes per week. This means that in a few months they will have caught up to Thriller Bark, and a while after that, Fishman Island. We have way too many releases all over the place at the moment and we have decided to hold our releases on both Thriller Bark and Fishman Island at the moment and wait for this consistent source to edit with. Otherwise we would just have to make v2s (v4s by this point?) once Crunchyroll do catch up to Fishman Island.
Instead, we are going to start with Punk Hazard. However, these will be final, as we use the blu-ray sources which Crunchyroll cannot beat in quality. We are first going to catch up the blu-rays up to this point (595 at the moment, and Punk Hazard starts at 579) and then start releasing those once a day. Toei will probably finish Punk Hazard blu-rays before Crunchyroll catches up to Fishman Island however, so we'll see what happens after that.
-
Sounds like a good idea. The only question I have is if the BS-Fuji sourced episodes like Thriller Bark (up to 374) will have to be redone.
Now after Punk Hazard is finished or caught up with the latest Japanese blu-ray releases, I assume you'll work on the pre-timeskip episodes if the Fishman Island eps aren't on Crunchyroll, then start Fishman Island once those are up sometime later in the year?

Yes, we'll replace all the BS-Fuji episodes with the Crunchyroll episodes, mainly because SOFCJ's encodes had ghost effects and choppy panning.
We'll keep working on Thriller Bark until Crunchyroll catches up to Fishman Island, which will probably be like a month after they've finished Thriller Bark.
-
Man, everything's gonna have to get redone! But this most certainly will be with the absolute best video quality out there with 1080p Cruchyroll + the bu-rays so it's definitely worth it.
-
I guess everything that will be released now up to the end of Punk Hazard will be the final version with CR as the source and the Blu-rays for PH? And the current Arc episodes will only be replaced once the blu-rays are available (if there are no big mistakes that need a v2)? Just to clarify :D keep on the great work!
-
I look forward to this.

So, uh… are you guys gonna release Dressrosa 2?

So, uh… are you guys gonna release Dressrosa 2?
Still waiting for Yibis. There's kind of a gap in our releases now since there was a break in anime as well.
-
Yibis has been taking quite a while getting 633 out though there is some progress. Hopefully it gets released during the weekend.
-
I must say, I'm a real fan of this project, it really feels good to watch One Piece properly, especially when they seem to improve on the important parts of the manga lately, with a good pacing.
And I have to ask, when can we expect Dressrosa 02? And the rest of Fishman Island arc?
-
Dressrosa 2 is pretty much finished. The holdup was because of Yibis being on a long hiatus. As a result of this, we've decided to switch to Tsuki for the Dressrosa episodes. It'll likely be released later today or tomorrow.
Fishman Island is on hold, because the raws we have don't really have the best FPS. We're gonna wait to see if Crunchyroll releases the episodes without hardsubs (if not, we'll just use the raws we have).

So we can't expect the rest of FI anytime soon I suppose?

Yep. We'll wait for Crunchyroll since there's no point in doing the releases just to then re-do them with Crunchyroll.
-
Did you guys get to use Yibis for 633? Coincidentally they released 633 today.

nope, we used tsuki
-
No big deal personally, as long as they aren't the Crunchyroll subs which are pretty bad.
-
I'm happy you guys are using tsuki's fansubs now. They release them pretty quickly unlike yibis lol
-

Yes, we are. Although it isn't the best script with many grammatical flaws and off translations like "ossan" and "mugiwara no luffy" (which we of course fix), Yibis might quit soon, so there's no going back to them either.
-
-
where did they say that?
http://www.yibis.com/index.php/topic,24.0/message,373589.html
though it appears they're still working on 636/637, but it seems like he wasn't sure how long they would continue on. -

quick question, why is thrillerbark called whitebeard war? Its a long time before they get to the war.
then theres a release called new world saga thats completed, and another one called fishman island that only has a few done.
Its kind of confusing.

We named it that way because of the fan-made belief that Thriller Bark is part of the overall "Whitebeard War Saga", but we've since then abandoned the saga naming, and plan on rereleasing the episodes with the "Thriller Bark" label instead. This will happen when Crunchyroll releases the Thriller Bark Arc though.
The "New World" releases are Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island and Punk Hazard (Anything before New World 34 is bad compared to the stuff that follows it). Return to Sabaody (Originally New World 1-2) has already been redone to fit our new naming (and better overall quality), and Fishman Island (New World 3-24) was being redone as well, until Crunchyroll announced that they were going to begin releasing the backlog of episodes prior to 619. We do plan on resuming Fishman Island as soon as Crunchyroll gets to it (that's if they softsub it of course, though).
And Punk Hazard (New World 25-46) is going to be renamed and rereleased using blu-rays.

what do you mean by bad? (like your own editing or the show in general lol?)
Also why wait and use crunchyroll? Aren't there raws available?

we want to use cr since we get them unencoded and with smooth fps, unlike opc-raws which we originally used for fishman island. one consistent source is much better than several different ones

Dressrosa Episode 4 Released

http://theonepace.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/icon_vidbux_720p.pngThe missing pages are the Block C and Block D pages, because Toei never adapted them. We'll be making original Block C and D introductions, and placing them before each block, like we did with B (and then putting them all together in the final v2).
Are you planning to do a v2 for Dressrosa too? What will the differences be?

Just minor things (like the thing mentioned above.)

Ok, thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work, watching One Piece is funnier with your release.

Could you guy's upload to MEGA and add a link to that for direct downloads because it's way better then most of the sites you use currently.
If you don't know the site go all just link it https://mega.co.nz/.

That would require us to put another icon solely for mega, which isn't really that good. The site is very glitchy and sometimes the download stops completely. Not to mention the strict copyright policies on the site. The majority of the DDL links on animetosho work fine anyway so I don't see the problem. And if by some chance they don't, you can always download/watch the stream and if that doesn't work the torrents are always seeded.

now out of 5 dressrosa episodes which one will be re released (v2) so that I skip them for now.

The v2s won't be released until next year at the earliest (Dressrosa has to end in the anime, and all the blu-rays have to come out).
Out of the 5 so far though, Dressrosa 4 is the only one that will have potential scene additions (Block C and D pages).
-
love what you guys are doing.
it seems that you guys haven't been working on whitebeard war arc for 2 months now, when will you release the next episode of it?
please excuse me if you already answered this question and just direct me to your answer. -
The latest batch of CR episodes uses hardsubs. Does this mean that you'll continue to work on the Thriller Bark episodes (and beyond) soon, or will you wait until those episodes come, just to make sure if they're also hardsubbed or not?

please excuse me if you already answered this question and just direct me to your answer. We'll likely wait, just in case. We really don't want to have to release v2s or v3s.
Before we finish, we're going to compile the episodes with our new naming system, along with fixing things that were not seen in the original version. The remaining 3 episodes will be released with all of them in a batch, in order to avoid massive confusion, which would likely happen if we released a lot of different files separately.

I really love the project, I think I said that before already, however, I have a suggestion or a question, depending on the interpretation of yours.
Cutting out the shit animation and leaving out basically only the decent and story-wise scene really improves the viewing experience, but I can't help but be disturbed that you stick maybe even too faithful to the manga.
The first example from the top of my head is Violet (the very first one, dancing) introduction. I know that the manga only portrayed like the last scene of the introduction, but the dancing scene was so well done it's almost a shame that you cut out like 70% of the animation that was actually pretty damn decent. And it feels rushed in the process.
The Bellamy fight in the Colosseum got the same treatment.
Think about leaving the well-done expanded scenes from the canon material in the future, some of those fill in great.

We discussed this at the beginning of the project, and basically decided that "good filler" and "bad filler" is totally subjective, and based on the viewer, so it's best to just keep the consistent mind-set of cutting it all, to be fair.

Looking back the Thriller Bark arc. The pacing is awesome.
The only part I thought which should be fixed a little is where Cindy staggers in the beginning of WWep 19.
Cutting out the shot of her foot holding the ground made her look like time suddenly flied before she has completely regained her balance.
Also I felt, "When did her tear stopped?"If there's a plan re-editing Punk Hazard Arc one of these days, please reconsider these part;
*A sudden explosion on the ship by Slime
*Mocha eating all the candies by herself for her friendsThe explosion scene problem is the end of music kept running during the explosion.
I think I said this before but would you give it a try again? I think the scene will be more astonishing if the music is cut out like…
for example, WW ep17 11:22.About Mocha's scene, it looks just like manga's flow, but I couldn't feel the same emotion I received reading it in this version.
On the other hand, anime can be tedious but that scene unedited had reached the same level.
Maybe the scene lacks Chopper's reaction "!!?" to something going wrong in the next page,
which was filled in slow-mo scene in the anime.
Even if a scene looks the same, doesn't always mean you'll have the same feeling from them.
I wish if you would give that scene another chance.P.S. VERY personal disappointment is the deletion of Nami's close-up shot in the shower room right before Usopp quickly thanks her.
I know, I know those weren't in the original comic. but… um... if you know what I mean... -

I always learn more and more while editing though so it's not like I can go back on every single episode ever done just to fix "that thing", but major problems that catches the viewer off-guard will be fixed when re-releasing the final ones (The ones with the correct name on them).

Just noticed, Dressrossa Episode 5 has a problem, I don't know if the original version has it, but from minute 3:55 to 4:20, Chinjao actions are disordered. First it appears him starting Jumping, than him walking and then him falling from the jump. It should be Walking, Starting Jumping and then Falling from the Jump.

Wow. That's actually an editing error. I can't believe that went unnoticed in the fixing process. I guess in the action we forgot to apply logic to the cuts :P.
The original is the order you mentioned, but the manga has the order in the One Pace episode, without the thing where you can see him walking, though, so we'll probably change it back.
It will be fixed in the Dressrosa batch, thanks for noticing it!
-
What was wrong with the original Chapter 0? What did you change? And will there be a 720p possible?
-
What was wrong with the original Chapter 0? What did you change? And will there be a 720p possible?
It was released exclusively on DVD so no 720p available. We removed the Strong World advertisement, some non-canon lines, and shortened some padding. It's more of a bonus release with d07.

Suggestions of parts to put back in:
13:17 of WW episode 23:
(Close-up of Moria's mouth right after his shadow catched Usopp's huge bag of salt)
Just keep his KI~SHISHISHISHI laugh and cut out "That was pretty close" line.
The shot itself is not in the manga, but it would make the screen transition to kneeling Usopp less too-rapid.11:20 of WW episode 24:
(Entire process of Collapsing Ohz and Lola crew's reaction to it)
It's not actually shown in the manga, but seeing all those great amounts of ellipsis in the frame where Lola crews pop their eyes out and jawdrop, Oda dared to
put two bubbles of those long ellipsis, so I guess quite some time is passing during that frame alone before Ohz fall flat.
Also, first "W" of "W-We did it!!!" is heard during that reacting scene you edited out, so I'd be glad if you take another look.
I think this is a good example of anime's scene which is faithful to the original flow but also doing what the comic media can't do.*From here's just ranting, so please don't take it too seriously;
P.S. Speaking of which, I watched the latest version of Return to Sabaody,. I'm afraid to say, however, I wasn't really impressed.
I am impressed by how the entire time is greatly shortened and there are cool edits here and there (especially how you shortened the scene Luffy easily dodging three bullets), but… for instance I wondered "did they really have to edit out Sanji's awesome spin move?" or some stuffs like that, but maybe the biggest personal con is the butchering of full-size We Go(I know most people on this thread wouldn't really mind, and I do respect how you treated it as natural as possible). Maybe because I'm a Japanese native speaker, but whatever. I've got both versions, so might as well keep 'em both like precious treasure. Best wishes to you guys, as always.
