LOL @ that hype for a subpar figurine
One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2 (PS3 and PSVita)

First off, thanks Robby and fenberry for your posts.
Now I've been debating whether or not to get it right away and simply import the game. Including the Japanese PSN card and proxy fees I'd pay twice the price I normally would have but the game's got so much going for it that I'm really really tempted. Before doing so, I've a few questions regarding KM2's game mechanics:
1. what's up with the coin system? Judging by videos you now can allocate significantly more coins than in the first one
2. Is it possible to fully enjoy (in that context: understand) the game without sufficient knowledge of the language? I've played the demo and I'm sure that even a monkey could play it. Actually, my question concerns only the berry shop and the coin abilities. Do I need to translate them or are both blatantly obvious in their functions? And that's basically it. I'd appreciate it if someone could answer those.
-
Btw. Was the Magellan with Hannybal's face picture on in the first one? Or is it just Magellan? Nice little thing there.
Pretty sure it was in the first one as well, i distinctly remember seeing it in impel down.
-
I know the campaign's a what if story, but is the
plot in any way a continuation to the first Pirate Warrior's game? I noticed Ace's still alive in this one -
I've just unlocked Akainu and Blackbeard, but they're both blacked out on the selection screen and a message in red text shows up on the right hand side when I hover over them, so I can't select them. Anyone know why? Loving this game by the way, much better than the first one.

I'm not 100% sure myself but some characters can't be played in the main log but instead only in the other one. Have you tried using them in the second log? Or in one of the challenges?

Its a complete different story, thats why its called "Dream Story". Its not only Ace, Whitebeard is alive too and Garp is still a Vice-Admiral.

It's basically a What If scenario. There is no relation to canon or anything in the game. Just the characters we know in new scenarios.

Yeah I've just realised I was trying to play as them on the final level, the one you unlock them in, and I just hadn't noticed haha Thanks!
Another thing I can't understand, if someone can clear this up for me, is that on the main menu of the game, the two top selections seem to be the same when you select them. One of them has the Straw Hat jolly roger and the other one has an icon of the Sunny, they both have different text beside them but when I select them they both just seem to go to the story mode? What's the difference between them?

one is dream mode and the other is free mode. the only difference is that in free mode you can play as any character you want

So it seems like the game is winding down on DLC. This week we only got Ace's Strong World outfit. No new challenge maps or anything.
Just. Ace.
But hey, its free so I'm not complaining.

Hopefully that hasn't been all so far. There's still a ton of possibilities like version 0 Garp, the other movie Z costumes, pre-TS designs for characters like Law etc etc.
On a similar note- is it possible to import save data from a European KM1 and still unlock the bonus on the Japanese KM2? I figured it's unlikely but maybe I'm lucky and somebody tried it already.

Fishman Island and Loguetown DLC is next.

@Yung:

Pure guess, right? They wouldn't include something like that as DLC, no way

They would never do that unless this game was a RPG game, expansion DLC since most of them tend to do that. Going with the companies history costume DLC is the only thing we would get from this game but this game is not worth the money and lacking in content.

No, they're different games.
-
The "bonus" is pretty miniscule, though. The money bonus you get is barely as much as you get for playing the very first level of the game, and the coin it gives you isn't very useful at all. I wouldn't worry about being able to take advantage of the save data thing.
It's not at all like some big games where pre-order bonuses give you an exclusive weapon that's better than most of the other weapons in the game, for example.
-
I don't mind the money but I thought the coin would be exclusive to that transfer thing. Glad to hear that it's not the case.
-
These videos do not belong to me.
-
Can some one tell me what "Corner Zoro" means? I don't exactly get what im supposed to do to corner someone. Thanks!
-
It makes me laugh how in both games we've seen more playable characters via hacks. Guess we know who will be playable in next years game
-
I was actually hoping magellan, bon clay, jozu could be playable by using this glitch. The video even show those guys with 2 musou moves so I guess they could have added them in if they just thought of a few more combos for them…
But I guess they didn't because this game was only in development for one year so they wanted to take priority on the more popular characters.
They also focused on making characters that are more relevant to the dream story. Still upsets me that Magellan. Bon Clay and Diamond Jozu are not playable, they could have spend more time in developing the game, I could have waited. -
^that means that these characters you named will be playable in the next game most likely. Magellan, Jozu (who could be mistaken for one of those fodder area bosses), Bon-chan and new chars like Monet, Vergo and CC. I imagine it's difficult to choose from such a broad variety of characters and sometimes you have to prioritize certain chars to ensure the game's success.
-
They can make Diamond Jozu like Garp… His style would make him into fully diamond and his 2nd musou will be him throwing an iceberg (since Garp can throw a giant cannonball out of nowhere). His combos will be just free-style brawler with punches and shoulder knocks with diamond form of course
-
Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt the possibility of making Jozu playable. I'm referring to the current game and the appearances I saw him make. Wielding that club of his, he looks like the random area bosses which really doesn't live up to his true power. Even if he's only a boss in this game, they could've given him a little more dignity is all I'm saying.
-
Again this video does not belong to me

Yeah I'm sure it was very difficult for Namco Bandai to implement these "NPCs" playable in this game.
-
Still more to come i reckon

The only new DLC this week is kimono Robin. At least it's for free…

)nyone knows how to do that glitch from the above posts? Cause it looks more like HACKS to me than glitches, he probably replaced the models and has a Jailbroken PS3 or something. -

I think they did something similar with characters back with the first game too, if i'm not mistaken. I'm sure when those characters do become playable they'll have much better movesets as well. Speaking of which, I hope Lucci when he gets in doesn't just stay transformed all the time like Jyabura.
-
Wonder if there's a hack video for Magellan.
-
Ivankov is now the best
-
Yeah, the thing about those hacks is that while the character model is clearly there and doing a variety of things, really they're pretty much doing one generic move, one dash move, and maybe two specials over and over. Enough to look cool as an NPC, maybe as many as six or seven moves… but nowhere near a complete moveset for a playable character which calls for about 20 attacks per character, and more than that depending on their square/triangle combo system.
(7+ square attacks, 5+ triangle attacks, 2 supers, dash move, R1 moves, 2 jump attacks, block, alt mode if they have one...)
-
but is it possible to use this hacks in anyway?? .-.
-
Actually, it could be glitches too.
I mean it's a different game but it was possible to play as support with Naruto Generations and it was limited just like this is limited.
-
Robin DLC
-
Hi all -
Just wanted to let you know I've unlocked all the characters and Partner's in KM2 and will be continuing to upload each mission to give a full walkthrough.
-
Ok guys here it is Magellan.
I am really interested in how he does this… I wouldn't mind playing these npcs cuz their cool. Loving Magellan but not really a fan of how this person plays though.

What, you mean with only the 4 moves the hacked character has rather than an actual moveset?
-

Again just a recycled DLC costume.
-
Got an email saying this is down to $44.50 for the Japanese version at Play-Asia.

Ahahahaha oh wow

And this week's DLC (#10) is SW Nami. Looks like it should be over now or next week. Maybe they're going with something interesting next week?

The next game better make this a reality, well with a fully fleshed out moveset that is. But man id kill for a chance to play as magellan, ive been denied for far too long.
-
Have Namco Bandai announced the release date in America yet?
-
As of now, I don't believe so.

You just gonna forget about Hannyabal? Don't be surprised the character development he will get.
