This mistake on physics was mentioned on tvtropes too.
It's a different universe so hopefully Shima will corrects it by saying most of the mass is at the center of the planet or something.
Even if all the mass was at the center, just 20 kilometers wouldn't make any difference… unless the radius of that planet was super small. For example if the planet was 40km radius it would make it 4x the gravity.
For reference, the earth is over 6k kilometers of radius...
If a planet was only 40km of radius the surface would be just over 20000km2... for reference, the US has almost 10million km2 of surface -
Arguing science and logic about an over-the-top, fictional, shonen manga series, where people can stop the planets rotation with a punch and summon swarms upon swarms of insects from inside their body, is silly.

And granted the gravity does not work this way, "earth" pulls you from all it's mass once you're inside till you're weightless at the core. But Shima exaggerates facts so 20 Km multiplies your weight by 10 million billion times because fuck it.

I'll give anybody brownies if they can provide posts from the beginning of the arc that they knew the 0th Isptope would be fighting the Bishokukai during the cooking festival. During a bit of rereading over the break I can see it making sense, given they only sent 2 people to protect the Festival. I just wanna see who called it early on.
! And I still stand by point two weeks ago cause my points two weeks ago that the execution seems off given the way it was written. And it's a shame there isn't some kind of breather given the last 30-40+ chapters were fighting chapters. I'd be much more thrilled to see all the confrontations set up this chapter, but that's a personal thing and have a feeling a lot of people in the thread won't have that issue.

This is beyond awesome! The 0th Biotope members against the coolest (well, not everyone) Bishokukai members! How brutally awesome are Megarodras and Goblin Ramon? Damn! But we already know (for real?) how Ichiryuu vs.Midora fight went! But I want to see some great fights now! Well, I think sooner or later NEO will interfere though.

Can we impart from this that Midora has now left the Gourmet World? and if so, Why? Just for Komatsu!! Seems a bit far fetched that Midora and Joa both want him so much unless he's the key to GOD!

And about Midora's situation, I think he's still in Gourmet World, far away from Cooking Island, and he sent his attack (Meteor Spice) from Gourmet World. Don't forget the range of Jirou's Grand Knocking.

I don't think the higher ranking characters shown now fighting 0th Biotope guys are ACTUALLY weaker than Starjun, even if it's quite obvious they are not all at the same level (for example, in my opinion both Starjun and Grinpatch were stronger than Tommyrod).
