My favorite legendaries are all the Gen 2 ones (except Celebi. He looks awful IMO), but there are plenty of good designs after those. Darkrai, Arceus, The Kami trio in their Therian Forms, Zekrom, White Kyurem (I hate Reshiram's design, but fused with Kyurem he looks much better)…etc.
Pokemon X & Y

I keep forgetting Arcreus is a legendary. It's one of the few I actually use. Mianly because I there's this sense of amusement whenever someone online thinks it's a dragon.
-
I guess I'm the only one who liked Palkia, then? Giratina also had a cool look, as well as Heatran; I liked most of Gen IV's monsters, really. I'm probably biased, though, since I skipped all the generations after Yellow (I did play Ruby on an emulator a few years ago, though) and got back into Pokemon with Pearl. Also, I've yet to play any of the Gen V games, but I do like the look of the monsters…
-
The king of the land Groudon.
So is there a Kyogre fan to pick a fight with it.:ninja: -
I always felt Shaymin was out of place as a Legendary. I mean….you always have your "cute" Legend (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, etc.) but......didn't Manaphy/Phione take that spot for Gen IV?(also probably the only Legendaries I REALLY like are Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza, and Deoxys)
Given how Shaymin was featured in a movie and Manaphy nor Phione wasn't I'd think not.

Given the prevalence of Dragons as legendaries can you blame anybody for the misassumption?
-

Yes, they were.
Its the one where Ash went Super Saiyan.
-
i must say first gen, since i really like zapdos and mewtwo
-

I think only ho-oh and groudon(fake one doesn't count) didn't appear in a movie.

"Temple of The Sea" the one Pokemon movie I forget exists.
-
I LOVE Ho-oh but I can't stand Groudon. It's bad enough that I have to pair them up together if I play Ubers. I just hate Groudon's design. It could have been epic but they just ruined it.

what he did in that arc?
-
Ho-Oh has OG status among the legendary 'mon…
-
Phione appeared in the anime not in the movies though, there was an episode about a lot of Phione, well the episode is about one I believe but there is a whole school of Phione swiming at the end I believe.
Ho Oh story apparently got dropped…they didn't show him in Sinnoh and Isshu, hoenn was his last sighting and yeah I wish there was an arc or a movie about it, my favourite legendary :( sniff, they made a little video with it fighting Lugia when HGSS came out but then they weren't used in any movie.
-
-
Absolutely nothing. He just appeared, again.
wow the anime realy makes the legendaries like a joke isn't it?
Which legendaries got the worst treatment in the anime/movies? -
Lapras is my favorite legendary.
But I also like Latias, Ho-oh, Mewtwo, The Fighting Bull from the trio of gen 5, and Air Shaymin because she looks like my dog.
-
@RobbyBevard:

While it's cool that we finally did get a name for the Pokemon that Ash saw, I wonder, what if they had never given it a name? Like, what if it had always just remained this mysterious unknown Pokemon that served as a permanent indicator of how vast the Pokemon world is?
-
Ho-Oh was created before the first game came out (they created something like 200 pokemon but only released 151), and they always planned to release him one day, so it was never going to happen in the first place.
That was just an adverstisement for the next game. Like the whole anime is. -

Lapras isn't a legendary Oo.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the anime started close to when GS was released in Japan I think so Ho Oh was known right away for those who played the games, I've seen people saying that atleast.
-
She is the most legendary of all legendaries :[

Yeah, sure. But I'm just saying, what if…?

Wooper is a proven legendary.:ninja:

I guess Cyndaquill is a legendary also :D.
Yeah, sure. But I'm just saying, what if…?
Sure, I was just mentioning that apparently people in Japan knew the current Ho oh to be Ho Oh at the time but yeah its a nice idea.

is this really happening? is this real life? am I going to be the first to get the chance to break new Pokemon news to this thread?
and by that I mean repost something that someone else found. Orotto is its name, it's that Grass/Ghost we heard about earlier.
-
Cool, it looks less generic than the drawings (except that last drawing which completely nailed it)
-
Wow, Dusknoir lost weight.
-
Video with Orotto yeah looks cool.
Apparently Mewtwo uses a new attack that shows a DNA.
People going crazy with Fennekin new Glow Punch move being super effective on Litleo and thinking amagad its gun be fighting type, when the thing is said to be a psichic type and actually has the psichic move also.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also it seems like Flabébé and Clauncher are fighting underwater, I guess underwater battling is back, we haven't had it since Hoenn.

Cool, although I do wish it had more foliage.
A Grass/Ghost can be a very good thing. I would hope it would lower the Grass type's weakness to Poison and Bug types.

We all know this'll happen

Oh ffs. This game is going to bankrupt me. I can't decide if i should buy NDS XL or just hte normal one…being the normal 1 is cheaper...but oi hate small screen

the regular 3ds is still like 180, and the 3ds is only 200 (if you get it on the rigght day, 210 otherwise) It's worth the one time extra investment of like, 30 more dollars to get the bigger better version. In addition to the bigger screens, the weight, feel and controller positions are more comfortable for adult hands. (Also the special release poke edition will no doubt be XL if you're into that.)
If it was a 50-100 dollar difference it'd be more of a debate, but… at 20... its really no decision at all.

I'm having a hard time enjoying Pokemon Black, the critical attack rate is ridiculous. Something like 1/3 times I get hit with a critical that atleast takes my guy down to 1/4 health. The amount of Pokemon that use status affecting attacks is ridiculous aswell, I'm spending more time running back and forth from the Pokecenter then I am doing anything else.
I'm enjoying the new design, how they make the environment look more 3D. Its a great looking game.
The majority of the Pokemon in this gen are stupid/lame looking though. :ninja:
Enjoyed Diamond 5x better so far.
-

It's 6%. Basically 1 in 20. Like its always been. Anything more common than that is your imagination or a particular skill of the monster you're facing, or you're doing something very very wrong. Are you sending out types weak to the things they're fighting? Mosters DO have more versatility in general so STAB or super effectives are more likely , but the critical percentage hasn't changed.
The amount of Pokemon that use status affecting attacks is ridiculous aswell,
They've poisoned and confused and done whatever else since gen 1. Its why zubats and tentacruels are so hated. Its NOT anything new.
Learn which enemies have status effects and counter them appropriately.
I'm spending more time running back and forth from the Pokecenter then I am doing anything else.
Buy some heals. Level up so you can kill things faster. Make it to the doctors in the middle of the caves.
Black and white is the easiest pokemon game there's ever been. The path is very direct, there's frequent heal spots, you don't need an HM slave for more than a single instance in the whole game, rivals surprise jump you far less, they tweaked the leveling so that any new monster can catch up to the rest of the party in a matter of minutes, they made juicy audino exp drops, gave out experience shares and lucky eggs like they're common, and they were incredibly kind about loading areas up with whatever would be good against the gym beforehand.
Easiest game in the franchise's history for a lot of reasons.
The majority of the Pokemon in this gen are stupid/lame looking though. :ninja:
Now you're just trolling. Most of them are pretty awesome, though yes, there's a couple duds in there.
-
Every generation has had its duds. B&W had many less than the previous two generations combined.
-
Black and white i think was the one that give us the best looking bugs.
-
Not to mention that the grass pokemon in Black and White are godly compared to the bullshit grass pokemon from Gen 4.
Seriously, all that cherubi, wormadam, carnivine crap is seriously awful compared to the likes of Lilligant, Whimsicott and Ferrothorn.
-
The majority of the Pokemon in this gen are stupid/lame looking though.
-
And don't forget the absolute awesome that is Sawsbuck. The critter is one beast of a powerhouse and is actually useful as a hard-hitting glass cannon. You can't say that about many grass types, really.
The design is so cool too. So solid in every single respect, geez.
-
Gen 5 made me play with a grass type for the first time since… Bulbasaur?
Whimsicott was just too cute resist. That, and he's madly good.My favorite thing about BW really had to be the variety of distributed Pokemon that were actualy useful. I lost count how many times I rotated my party throughout the mian game because it felt like I knew that there was nothing wrong with trying out a Pokemon I thought looked cool.... Compare that to a situation where I added Dunsparce to my mian team in Silver, only to realise that it was a useless piece of --
-
You know i found it funny that only generation with no bug catchers in it was the one that had the best bugs was like gamefreak didn't want them to be real threats.:ninja:
-
While I do think Gen wunners are dumb, I do still think the gen 1 starters were the best set. They all looked really good at each stage. That said, my favorite starter is still Torterra. Actually, not including Gen 6, I'd rank the starter sets in each gen from best to worst as
1. Gen I
2. Gen III (Really liked all the starters in this one as well)
3. Gen IV
4. Gen II
5. Gen V -
I like ranking things. For starters:
Gen II
Gen I
Gen IV
Gen V
Gen IIII absolutely loved each form of each starter in Gen 2. Especially Bayleef.
Gen IV would be second but I just really don't like Turtwig's evolutions.
Grovyle is my favorite form of all the starters (no mystery dungeon influence at all :ninja: ), but I can't stand Mudkip and Torchci's lines. -
2>5>1>4>3 in terms of designs, I'm talking about everything not the starters only, its hard for me to score starters because I'm a huge starters fan and Serperion/Samurott really let me down but Dewott is probably my favourite middle stage starter ever.
I think I've said it before but from start to end of the line my favourites are Cyndaquil, Totodile and then Chimchar.
As for the game itself I would probably go with 5>4>2>1>3, yeah sorry little biased with Gen 3 it was traumatic for me haha, I guess if I'm not biased it should be 5>4>3>2>1 since all the generations were an improvement, I made the rank basicly on my general enjoyment of te games.

Nothing has changed, people even saw BW gyms, etc were easier I don't want to sound rude but you just seem like an awful player if you are having trouble with the game AI.
I'll say the same I said to the new that said he didn't like any legendary after Rayquaza, I don't believe that unless you went in with a biased opinion from the start its impossible you don't like any pokemon or even find the majority to be lame/stupid, I don't even know what a stupid/lame pokemon is supposed to be like.
Even the ones I dislike I don't take that approach(they aren't many), just because they don't fit me doesn't mean its lame or doesnt fit someone else taste.
-
You guys need to relax, I'm in the forest after you beat the 2nd gym Ive only seen 20-25 or so Pokemon. I honestly find half of those to be of lame appearance but hey its my opinion. I mean Munna, a floating blob with a flower pattern on it. I haven't encountered one yet that I'd say is awesome.
How do I go in biased when I didn't even know the game existed until recently since Ive payed no attention to Pokemon in any form for years.
I don't care what you say, I'm getting hit with a higher then average amount of criticals. I'm basing that off my Diamond play through that I did only a week ago.
All my opinions are based off what I experienced in Diamond.
Ive still got alot of game to play, we shall see how it goes.
-
It's weird that Gen 3 brought a lot of my favorite Pokemon (Metagross line, Spheal line, Bagpn line, Treeko Line all have two pokemon in my top 15ish) but I have always felt it to be the weakest overall in terms of Pokemon I liked. After those Ientioned, the only other ones I really care for are like Seviper and Ralts. But then Emerald is my second favorite gameplay-wise after Crystal. Just my two cents.
