I really like that the results for Block B and D aren't as obvious as they seemed to turn out to be at first.
There are many people rooting for Bellamy/Bartolomeo/Rebecca/Cavendish and the other way around.Plotwise I still think Bartolomeo and Cavendish will turn out as winners though.

I imagine Bellamy losing but touching Lucy's feelings with all that "I dream about being at your ship, bla bla bla". So do Rebecca. Just to create an aura for the last fight Luffy vs. DoFlamingo.
That's why I agree with King Cannon when he says that Cavendish should win D Block.

Aside from fight against Doflamingo group, I think another thing going for Rebecca is the fact she is a woman. She and Acilia are the only woman in the tournament and having 1 woman among the 4 champions sound just like shonen proportion.

Was already pumped to see the result of Block B, but this wasn't that bad as is. Can't wait for the next chapter - and I really want to know how Bellamy's adventure transpired…
Well I must say that One Piece is worse than Fairy Tail's tournament in creating 100 people out of nowhere and having them become nobodies seconds later.
I mean only 4 people advance, and we have gotten how many new names. At least fairy tail showed most everyone in a semi small battle or some game at least.
Not sure why Oda is bothering with everyones name. I really hope he doesn't try and flesh these guys out and include them much into the story or future arcs. We have way too damn many characters as is that have to yet be dealt with and expanded upon. Not to mention others pirates/bounty hunters/marines ect we have yet to meet or citizens of new world islands, ect.
Hahahaha, no. Never. At least the One Piece characters are interesting and it just makes the universe feel more alive. And who knows in which way they'll be implemented later? Don't think there's any need to worry they'll steal the spotlight from future characters.

I'm curious about Bellamy's worldview now: his eyes have basically been opened by that trip to Skypiea, but isn't Doflamingo's ideal of the New Era diametrically opposed to hope, dreams, etc? I mean how can Bellamy continue to idolize Doflamingo after that experience? Not that you have to subscribe to the same beliefs as someone to follow them, but it's weird that he still holds Doflamingo in the same high esteem as before.

Well Doflo still did not act like Bellamy did at Jaya. Didn't he scold Bellamy for laughing at Luffy during his whole ' disgrace to my flag" thing? … I gotta go read that again... Ah! its ch 303. this copy is iffy translation (Binimi & Sinjinsu, instead of Bellamy ect. "royal follower" instead of loyal follower"
) I'll check other sites to see if its same words on the important page - looked at 7 sites, they all used same translation

Also thinks like Doc Bader (Hiruluk) or Okta (Hatchan).
Aaaaaand…. The Danish One Piece publisher has always been translating from the German One Piece, so us Danes had to suffer from those translations as well. Made the online transition pretty rough. Especially since I first started reading online after around chapter 450~. Makes it really confusing when someone refers to characters like Hiruluk.
It isnt an issue any longer though, seeing as the Danish One Piece supplier stopped supplying newer volumes around volume 59 (I think)... :( -

I thought that Ruffy isn't a mistranslation …as long as the reader is German :ninja: I've heard that its how its spelled there, with 'R' instead of 'L'. Yeah in the SBS 26, Oda printed a page of the SHs (up till Chopper since it was so early) names are spelled and pronounced in other countries. In English speaking lands its Luffy but in Germany its Ruffy, … but never was it Roffy that's is a bad one ]

I'm hoping it means that was part of the Giant Warrior Pirates crew. After all there HAS to be more former members of them besides Oimo and Kashi, Dorry & Broggy had enough people to man two ships.Plus it seems when we meet members of that crew, they befriend the SHs esp Usopp.

- Man, Bartolomeo sure seems like a disappointment after what he did to Maynard. He destroys innocent civilians to the point that he's about as hated as pirates come. And we've been told that such actions provide a more inflated bounty, so his is inflated to… 150 million? That's it? That's like... majorly hype destroying. I did like his little fake bomb trick, though.
The guy is pretty much the same type of "Brutal Super Rookie" that Bellamy was before being defeated by Luffy. I don't think there will be more to him than that, and I doubt Oda would throw aside Bellamy's development just to show us more of a random character whose fight with Luffy would feel empty.

So did Whitebeard. The head isn't pure muscle like the neck, and Oda has used the 'oversized neck' for a looong time. And has shown people with larger muscles as time goes by. Remember Yasopp? He was a twig back in Foosha Village at the beginning of series. He was shown with more muscles by time SHs were in Grand Line (shown when Mihawk brought Shanks news of Luffy's bounty, and even bigger by the war. Sure his neck wasn't exaggerated but it was thicker and not new

Fair enough. My friends warped my image of him by telling me what they thought about in his first appearance. I went for years without thinking of him that way. Now I can't unsee it and it sorta bugs me lol.

I was really annoyed when Bellamy was revealed as still alive, because I (for some reason) really thought he was one of the few actual cases of characters dying and it felt like him reappearing was a little background thing for the hardcore fans and Oda
s usual way of making sure that even the most unimportant or despicable character survives…..but now that he is actually getting a real, significant role in the story and some character developement, thats actually pretty cool. I dont mind Oda keeping characters alive if he does it for a good reason like this. -

I'd love for the pace to be something like: 2 chapters of in-depth Colosseum stuff (and in the weeks to come, this has to be badass fighting!), then followed by a 705 style chapter of "update collages" on the rest of the groups.
I'm actualy surprised at people's reactions, though. It's definitely that you can't please everyone. Last week, Oda was jumping around too much. This week, he didn't show us CP-0 or the guest at the Sunny. Now that he focuses on Bartolomeo and Bellamy, "he is wasting pages! Block B should already be finished!".
Seriously, relax and enjoy the ride. Are some of you guys in some kind of rush? I'm as anxious to know more about the gazillion mysteries surrounding the Dressrosa arc as anyone, but if we are at the Colosseum with the promise of some fun battle royale action, then let's enjoy this.
And if the pre-requisite to enjoy some fun battles is to have an above average set-up chapter, then so be it. And enjoy said chapter as well.

I'm probably the only One Piece fan who actually liked Bellamy and was actually chastised on these boards a while back when I listed him as one of my favorite villains. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic that he's back and even better that he's developed and seems as if he's going to play somewhat of a role.

Was looking back at chapter past and just realized why Rebecca is so skimpily clad.
It's not cuase Oda is a perverted japanese old man and loves drawing womens boobs. It's because he did some very tough calculus to figure out how much her shield and sword and helmet and so on weighed. After figuring all that out, he realized that she only had X amount of weight left to put into her armor. Thus he was only able to allow her exactly 100 pieces of scale for her scale armor. The end result is he had to put those scales where they offer the most protection. On her private parts.
I am almost 100% sure that working out the mass of Rebecca shield, sword, armour etc does not involve 'tough calculus' :ninja:
Also, it's like 80 scales not 100? :p
