Law's Counter Shock.

I may have been inattentive or something, and I did get that it was an electic jolt, but how does Law produce it?
Do we know?

Nope.
"As long as you're within Law's circle, consider yourself a patient on the operating table"
No limits yet, except that whatever he does has to happen within his room. As to how he produces the electricity, I don't think there is a need to explain anything with Paramecia's. Law simply mimics a defibrillator with his thumbs and electrocutes people. It's a freakish Paramecia, so whatever!
Ah so it's from his fruit! As a part of the operation room theme!
I was confused because electrocution seemed different from the rest of his DF repertoire, thus thinking it was some unrelated trick.
Thanks.
Law's Counter Shock.

IMO, its a defibrillation related ability. Ninja'd :ninja:
Oda stated somewhere that Buggy will never get a power up, right?
I can't see that being true as he already got the Muggy Bomb at Impel Down. Maybe it was a statement toward Buggy's own power not his gadgets?
Nope.

Isn't he basically limited to "operations"? Like, he can't randomly produce fire because that has nothing to do with surgery.

I'm sure there is more, but we don't know where Oda draws the line. After all a defibrillator has nothing to do with actual surgery, it's just a tool you can find in any emergency room. If we go by that logic Law could do a shitload of other hax'ish things. Like shooting lasers, KO people with anaesthetic gas or cut & burn through cauterization etc. All on top of teleportation and the ability to defy gravity (which isn't something you can do in an operation room).
His power just seems all over the place, even more than your average Paramecia.
Does anyone else think that Marco looks like Macklemore?
For those who don't know who Macklemore is:

The resemblance is notable, but Marco's eyes look droopier.

Shambles and Tact are supposed to mirror swapping and moving stuff, both things you can do in an operation room.
Things a surgeon can do during a surgery:
Law's Counter Shock.
What exactly is it?
my personal theory is that he takes electrons from the atmsphere, using his ability to control the environment, and then collects them and direct the potential to his opponent.or something like that.it sounds better than him having weird and unexplained ability, just because of his "surgeon of death" theme.

….It really doesn't. Just read the post above yours.
Shambles and Tact are supposed to mirror swapping and moving stuff, both things you can do in an operation room.
Things a surgeon can do during a surgery:
- Dissect the body/Mes (Use scalpel)
- Swap things/Shambles. (Organ transplant)
- Remove things from inside the body/Tact. (Bullet/Tumor/Fat/Whatever removal)
- Analyze the body/Scan. (Search for specific things within a body).
- Counter Shock. (Defibrilator)
That's the point, he merely mirrors what you can do in an operation room, which could be [anything that can be vaguely associated with operation + some haxjuice].
I can't name another Devil Fruit with such loose boundaries.
As I said in my earlier post, what stops him from emitting anaesthetic gas or shooting lasers like Franky? And those are just two abilities he would obviously have according to the fruits description. How about some acidic spit for cauterization? Or some external fixations to stop his "patients" from moving?
Everything is possible if moving things around during a surgery translates to teleportation, levitation & soul-swap for the lolz.
I have no issues with it, but one has to admit that his fruit is…extraordinary when compared to other Paramecia's.

Well, there is no reason why Kuma should be able to extract pain or send shock waves either.
@Стрелок:

The shock wave thing was explained. He deflects the air.

Yes, but how do paws allow him to do that?
@Стрелок:
Well, there is no reason why Kuma should be able to extract pain or send shock waves either.
Kuma has a proper restriction, even if the power itself is haxish. He simply repels everything, that's it. Oda could make him repel energy or intangible ghosts or [whatever], but at the end of the day his fruit would point in the same direction: repelling stuff. That's all he does.
Law, on the other hand, could asspull over a dozen completely different moves (if not more), according to the Ope Ope's description. Moves that are granted to him solely through the fruit (unlike Wapol, who has to consume a canon first in order to use it).
So, if Oda decides to let Law shoot eyebeams or anaesthetic farts he would get away with it, since "that's what happens in an operation room!".
I can't be the only one who thinks that this is an extraordinary way to "limit" a fruits ability.

The paws are just for decoration, basically. His power is deflecting stuff.

I'm sure we'll see it's limits when Law gets into a real fight. There's already the "room" thing. He can't do anything if you're not inside one.

That's just what was revealed of his powers which encompass the operating room.
We have yet to see him sedate people, inject emergency "stabilizers", or drain blood, but I guess considering he is the "Surgeon of Death", such abilities are rather unnecessary to his Devil Fruit.
And before anyone brings up the Horm-Horm Fruit, Ivankov's fruit is more oriented to injecting hormones, not so much liquid "medicine" or vaccines.
"Scars on the back are a swordsman's shame."- Zoro
Shouldn't he have a scar on his back from when Buggy stabbed him?

He probably should have a scar on his back but then again it is a manga and not everything makes sense all of the time. Though that saying shouldn't really be taken that literally. It basically means that if a swordsmen retreats from a battle or does not face his opponent head on then the swordsmen should be ashamed.

Yep. Plus when Whitebeard died he had 2 or 3 swords that went through his back too. So he should have wounds there, yet Oda still wrote "Not a wound of a retreat scars his back"
TECHNICALLY they have scars, but they were from head-on stabs.

he didn't actually attack his back,he attacked his sides.and there is the possibility that the attack did not leave a scar.
!
even if you say that there was a scar and consider where he was stabbed his back, that statement is not literal and should not be taken so,as others have pointed out.
Who is the guy talking to Crocus? Someone from Wano?

Killer .
How much money do you think marines make? Bellmere was an officer, but her life savings amounted to the pathetic amount of only 100,000 Beri. How come?

Likely Scopper. The body size fits, the hair fits (only gray, since he's, well, old). Crocus is happy to see him, Laboon is happy to see him. It's obviously isn't anyone related to Brook, so it must be one of Roger's crewmates. The only prominent crewmates and Scopper and Seagull, and it certainly isn't Seagull…

Nobody knows yet. There's some theories but there isn't a unified answer.
My Question: What was the point of Maxim is Enel could fly?

Well maybe he just wanted to be fancy. Because God n stuff.
But his original plan was to take a few people with him…. But that's all I can think of really.

All right, just trying to get the facts straight on Enel! Thank you.

My Question: What was the point of Maxim is Enel could fly?
Remember that Maxim was meant for more than just transportation: It was also a factory for thunder cloud which allowed Enel to perform the devastating Advent of Thunder attack (and more).
Question of the year (maybe :ninja:)

[h=1]SAMURAI FLEX[/h]:blink:
Ener can flight?

My theory is that it's because they've hyped the samurai of Wano so much, their name spontaneously changed preemptively so they can have a consolation prize when Wano inevitably fails to live up to their expectations.
Yea he can use his lightning to teleport and fly.
I think he means to ask if he can fly for long time, like how maxim can.
@Gear:

Oh, then iunno.
But as it's with the speed of light(ning) anyways, he'd reach the moon in approximately 0.2 seconds. pessimistic guess. So who cares how long he can do it, he'll reach his target before you can say "God" anyways

Then he obviously can't do that, because he' have no use for Maxim.

(1. Destroying Skypiea
(2. Taking people with him to the moon, which he wanted to do
(3. He didn't know if there were people or not, he most likely thought there were. So he took the arc as a throne to rule over the moon.
(4. Possibly wanting to take moon people back to earth
I see a few uses in the arc. also he's God, he wants those things because he can.

1)Then he would've just used it to nuke Skypeia and then zip off to the moon in a flash without having to tag along with this craft that is obviously muuuuuch slower than what you're suggwsting he's capable of.
2)He still rode it when he already had nobody to take with him.
3)Pure speculation.
4)Why would he care for that? All he wanted to do was to settle on his "endless vearth".
Yea, I already said that I don't know for sure. I'm just speculating and none of it is based on fact aside from that he wanted to take some people with him.
It's probably just because he's a God so he wanted it as a sign of his might and as a tool of war. Yes it is speculation, of course it is.
But it's also speculation from YOUR side to say that he couldnt possibly fly to the moon himself, and thats the only reason he ever made maxim.
If he needed a ship to go to space he could have made a little ship which he could drive to the moon. Instead he made a huge ass fucking ship, in which he wanted to take 5 people.
It's all just a sign of might and a tool for ruling and war. That's the most legit conclusion right now imo
I dont see a reason why he couldnt technically go to space himself. Can lightning not exist up there?
If it couldnt maxim couldnt have brought him there either, since he had to activate and control that ship with lightning.
Guys, I already answered your question about why he needs Maxim. It isn't just for transportation. It is a cloud factory. See my post above.

We did see it. Still doesn't answer why he took it to the moon afterwards, which I answered. or tried to, since nobody can truly tell i think, only good speculations.
Basically, what you are implying is that Enel could've zipped off to his Endless Vearth, his great promised land at any time he wanted and each time he'd be there in seconds. While you can indeed assume that he wanted take stuff with him,it still doesn't explain why hasn't been to his great Endless Vearth before. He could've payed countless visits to his life's dream before he actually moved to live there with Maxim or whatever he wanted to take with him.
The only possible counter to that I can think of at the moment is that he wanted to make his first arrival as grand as possible, and for that purpose,he,Enel, this extremely capricous prick who's shown to do stuff on a whim, was being a paragon of patience for several goddamn years, fighting off the temptation to go see his Endless Vearth at any time.

I get what you're saying, but I see absolutely no reason at all why he shouldn't be able to go there….

I think that my answer is a perfect explanation for why he would take Maxim anywhere with him. It is a mobile cloud factory, which is basically a weapon of mass destruction in his hands. Why not take it everywhere? What, was he going to just leave it in the Sky Islands where anyone else could just take it?
It's his.
Of course he'll take it with him.
Who waits for years in one location while minions build a multi-use weapon for him, only to leave it behind as if it was worthless as soon as he uses it once? Enel would not be so stupid.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I get what you're saying, but I see absolutely no reason at all why he shouldn't be able to go there….
Also, I think you are overestimating Enel's actual speed in the One Piece universe.
We have no idea how fast lightning, light, sound, etc. are in this world (beyond that Oda just draws them as FAST, REALLY FAST WOW). Furthermore, we have no idea what the distance to the moon is in One Piece.
Hell, the most ridiculous part is that we've seen Enel walking around on the moon without a space suit.
We've seen spaceys float to the moon on little balloons!
Both of these things imply that there is an atmosphere that goes all the way from the Blue Seas to the Moon… which is very different from the Earth and Moon in reality.
My point is that you are trying to make real world arguments about a story which is obviously pretty far from realistic. Don't assume so much about what Enel's actual speed is, and whether that would make him able to jump back and forth to the Moon under his own strength.
