It's kind of weird seeing most of them with the same face.

I know, right? Valentine, Johnny, Pucci, Doppio and Cars are the only ones who come out of this spread looking good. Kira looks unlike himself, Dio only looks good at a distance, and all of the Joestar's faces are messed up.Jolyne looks like a guppi! It's like Araki hired a bunch of generic imposter's to impersonate the Joestars-it's like Jolyne and Jotaro in that Parallel world!
-
Funny enough, the actual reason Araki can't draw Jonathan as he used is to is because "he can't anymore"
http://comipress.com/article/2007/04/29/1896
[Question for Araki-sensei! (11): "About the Change in Design"] When asked about his designs that continue to change, Araki replied that since he's not trying to draw using classical techniques, the designs won't be the same, and usually experience rapid changes. "I'm not concerned about the old drawings (assertion)." Though the readers may get confused, I wonder if they will forgive me".
#It has also being reported that in Hirohiko Araki's collection of short stories Gorgeous★Airin, the illustration of Airin that was drawn for Ultra Jump in 2003, was originally a character drawn in 1985 as an entirely different person. At that time, the comment from UJ PRESS was: "I can't draw in my old style anymore".Kinda depressing…. depressing since that means he tried.
I don't mind Joseph being redrawn so skinny, but Jonathan was said to be ripped several times in the story itself. "Log sized leg'
All Star Battle version is perfect to me though, not too bulky, just right.
I'm also trying to find that old interview Araki had with Clamp (well, One of them). It explains a lot about the art. Araki says he PURPOSELY tried to make impossible poses only to find out people could still do them (explains a lot about the anatomy).
He also says he never ages because of:
! Ripple
So yeah, the theory about him actually being the ultimate being has been debunked. He simply uses ripple.
Edit:
Found it.

The fact that Araki's artstyle evolved constantly doesn't really help.
In retrospect, giving everyone distinctive hair and outfits may have been a way to keep them recognizable even when drawn in the SBR style.

He's pretty good at doing that…except for the first 2 parts. Hence the confusion.

While I do really love the more realistic look Araki has been doing since Steel Ball Run part of me misses that more wacky cartoonish style that started a bit into Part 4 and throughout Part 5.
-
The early SBR style right at the beginning while the manga was still published in Shounen Jump is, IMO, the best Jojo style. It was more realistic and detailed, but had that quirky Manga quality to it still that I'm sad to say I think he's moved away from now.

Personally I felt like part 4 was the pinnacle of Araki's art.
Everything was extremely detailed, without the crazy proportions of the early stuff.
And the slightly samefacey style of the current art hadn't appeared yet.It was like the best of the old and the best of the new.
-
So is it safe to say that part 4 is the arc that evolved the most, art-wise? Early on, Josuke, Koichi, Okuyasu etc looked like entirely different characters than later.
-
I forgot about those days when Araki would plaster hearts and peace signs just fucking everywhere.
-
The animation for episode 20 was a delight to watch.
-
^Won't be seeing it ll tommorow, but that actually seems likely given the episode preview last week.

Episode 20 RAW CAESAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!

Wow, that was amazingly well done.
If only Ceasar had played Street Fighter, he'd have known jump-ins on wake up are a bad idea.

I constantly forget that they are in the 1930-40's during this part of JoJo. I blame their clothing and Tyra-esque posing.

Hey,I hear you people think that Diavolo was lackluster villain:
!
-
The only way to beat Diavolo is to get the most broken power in fiction.
That has to count for something.

Also,limited edition BD content.
!
I want that shirt.It rocks. -
I need Dio swag for my cubicle.
-
I have a theory for why Diavolo's stand was so hax. Maybe it's because he had two souls inside of him, making his stand power really bloated and huge, but as a tradeoff he had to constantly switch between personalities

That would explain why it had two faces and Doppio apparently only had access to half of King Crimson's powers.
-
I'd say D4C was more broken than King Crimson, because the only real applications of King Crimson are to keep yourself from getting killed and seeing 10 seconds into the future. With D4C you can take whatever you want from any parallel dimension
-
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap's greatest application is making annoying people disappear behind doors.

A possible explanation, albeit unnecessary, since people have attained stands of comparable strength before on their own.

I didn't say King Crimson was the strongest. Although, it probably produced a ton of collateral damage, behind Bohemian Rhapsody, Silver Chariot Requiem and Stairway to Heaven.
Every time he skipped time, everyone in the entire world who was in a moving vehicle would have become disoriented, exponentially increasing their chances of crashing. He probably killed millions. -
I think King Crimson had an effective range, though? I don't think all time across the world was affected
And I think an alternate universe version of D4C should be called Unclean Actions Carried Out For a Pittance

Joey Jojo was your average upper-class British person, until his father (also called Joey Jojo) adopted the little hellion named God Blando
-
And then God Blando discovered an ancient Merkin that allowed one to become a Werewalrus.

God Blando's EL MUNDO GRANDE bunches up time so more things happen at once
