Sorry in advance for asking but how does the friends system works?
Ya borrow five quid for two weeks, then change your phone number and never respond to e-mails.
Or that just might be me :ninja:

I've read a little about Amazon Prime. I read that there's a free 1-month trial. Can it be that I order one thing with that and then just cancel it without paying anything?
Late response but yes, you can. You can actually go into the Prime settings and set it to not renew automatically, and then when your month is up you stop getting the benefits, but you don't have to actively cancel or do anything. But of course you can only get the free trial once, so if you plan to take advantage of it I'd make it a worthwhile order or a month where you buy a lot of stuff.

Thanks for the answer. I might try it sometime then.
I would like to add my birthday to the AP Forums calendar along with the age that I'm turning, but how do I do that?

Is it possible to get a name change here? or is it a hassle for mods/admins? Just alter it really, I don't really want to make a new account.

It is possible. You just have to PM a mod/admin and ask nicely.

Thank you! I'll give it a try, hopefully it's not too much trouble. I'm just not sure who to PM~

Technically only admins have the power to change your name, but mods are probably better because they're around more. They'll pass the request on for you.
Yeah, I figured as much. I'm kinda hoping someone stumbles in here and see's my post. If not I'll message them after the holidays.

New members are not allowed to vote till they post and contribute enough.

Quick question… I restored my iPhone 4 in order to reboot it into ios 6.0.1 but i completely forgot to back up my pics and vids... is there any way to get them back or is that the end of it all (and my life since those weren't mine, so I'm probably gonna get killed for that mistake ^_^;;)
Not sure if this is the place for it… but... I was wondering if anybody knows how to delete threads? I want to submit my short story to an online blog that pays for it's writing, but they don't want it to have been previously published anywhere before. Not sure if I'll get away with it (considering how things tend to linger around on the internet) but I've posted it on here, and want to delete the thread before I submit it. Thanks in advance.

Threads can't be deleted. At least not by regular members. Maybe a mod/admin will do it if you ask and explain the situation.

Hmm, alright, thanks.

Err… what color are the mods names?
Err… what color are the mods names?

–- Grey; 6 Crimin Star: Forum Administrator - ???????
–- Green; 5 Crimin Star: Forum Moderator - You worship them.
–- Yellow; 4 Crimin Star: Section Moderator - If you see their name at the bottom of the section you are browsing, they can delete your user account.
–- Purple; 3 Crimin Star: Website Editor - Although the site is currently being redesigned, they work on and maintain the website.
–- Blue; 2 Crimin Star: Envoy - Our sources of information, be they translator, scanner, or spoiler provider.
–- Red; 1 Crimin Star: Senior - Members who have been around for a long time and/or earned the respect of the community and staff.
Hope it helps!
Is it the Horizontal Heights thread? Let me know if you still need help.
Ehh.. A link to One Piece Z? I really want to watch it.
I am sorry if this is not the place to post such a question by the way.

Do you want to download it? Or just watch it? If it's the latter, it's a little hard, since most youtube and other vids have been taken down. However, I was able to save and upload them. It's either in 8 parts (the exact same versions that appeared on youtube first) and one that's zoomed in (again, the same, but with a slight change). They're both really crappy though, so you should consider waiting for a better quality raw/camrip.
It isn't subbed either.
Here are the original versions in mp4. And here are the the links for the whole movie zoomed in and edited together (you have to download all and extract it together with either Winrar or 7zip):

Okay, I've only been here since September, and I was just looking at the Archives Sections and came across "Griffin's Place."
I was instantly confused, can someone explain what that whole thing was about? Who the hell was Griffin?

It was one of the annual April Fools pranks. I obviously wasn't around way back then either, but I believe the prank was that a user named Griffin hacked the forum and banned the staff. Shenanigans ensued.

That's a cruel joke, but it's still damn funny.
IIRC, Griffin was a fake account run by the mods all along.
K, I'm having a lil problem with my BlackBerry AppWorld atm… it's not showing up, and when I try download it, I can't, OTA or via PC, so is there anyone that could maybe download from their PC for me and then upload it on zshare or another upload site, where I CAN download it?
PS I hate RIM -.-
Thanks

Try finding someone to Skype with in English? Or watching English TV shows, listening to English music, etc. Written or spoken, because written seems fine.

Well, I've reached this level by doing most of what you've mentioned. What I want to improve is my vocabulary since I struggle sometimes to deliver a point with simple words, or understand a point being made, which make me take too much time to answer whoever is talking to me.
What I did to improve my Chinese vocab in school was to read lots of, well, manga, and translate/check out every single word I didn't completely understand and how to use it naturally. This might help for you, although manga probably isn't the best idea if you want to pick up English vocab. My suggestion is to read good books. Fiction or non-fiction, it doesn't matter. And carry a dictionary (real or electronic) with you so you can easily look anything up.
Manga works too, really. I am a living proof of that. In fact, any reading will do wonders for your language skills of any given language as long as you exert yourself a little and make an effort to understand if not everything at least most of what is being said.
What I would suggest is that you keep reading novels, manga and news - especially news - in English and keep an English dictionary open in one tab and look up the exact meaning of each word that you don't feel quite secure with, and if the definition includes further words that you are not familiar with check those too. That's what I have been doing for the last couple of years and it has brought me really far.
Thanks you two. I guess there is no way around it. I'm gonna read the shit out of everything I come around.
Shitty stories, here I come!!!
Somehow I can't load APF on my PC but it perfectly works on my phone. It's telling me that the server can't be found but my Internet is working just fine.
What could be the problem?
I'm having issues with apforums.net as well. There might be a problem, but in the meantime, use forums.arlongpark.net.
The forum is being punished for its long list of misdeeds and crimes against the Internet.

Ah thanks to the answer.
What's the history of Arlong Park forums? Who started it and how did the legacy begin?
I think it was created by a guy named Aftershock and then Oceanizer ran it and now I'm not sure who maintains it exactly. There's a pretty cool comic that Zephos drew that has a lot about the history of the forum and it's entertaining too. Here's links to the different parts
Parts 1-7: http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=26782
Parts 8-10 (and maybe more, it lists through 12 but there's no links for 11 and 12): http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=26782
Here's a Wiki article about the comic that helps follow who's who and everything: http://arlongpark.wikia.com/wiki/National_Coronation_Day
I would like to know too. I've managed to piece much together, but there's still plenty I don't know, and it would be really interesting to hear.
Edit: Thanks Sakon. Definitely gonna take a look at that.

Please excuse my double post, but this question has been irking me. What was so special about the date July 12th, 2006, that it warranted a total of 3,147 users to be online (the most users to ever be online)?
I mean I can understand the whole "Well we had more members back then" If that's the case, what happened between 2006 and now that resulted in AP losing so much activity?
It was spoilers of course.
More specifically, AP had managed, due to various circumstances, to get hold of spoilers for an OP chapter at a time when no one else could, so everyone came here to see them.
Also, this was before you had to be a member to view spoilers. So the vast majority of those 3000+ users weren't actually members. So the activity level of AP hasn't really changed.
