I may know where your getting at here. My grandmother is also a Caribbean native (St Thomas). She's was very critical and wasn't hesitant to tell you her opinion. She didn't really take any mess. She was nice and all, but her bluntness was just a bit too much.
Hahah. That sounds alot like another older relative I have, but I don't think she's crazy enough to touch our technology, lol. I honestly don't foresee that combination.
My grandma is… well. You can say she's the luckiest person I ever know, despite the amount of awful things she put my family into. First being leaving home for grandad to take care of dozen of children(including mom) by himself.
Then marrying. Over and over again.
And oh. Being completely immune to age. There was a time we were supposed to visit a house that she said was "nearby". We ended up walking up a mountain road for 5 whole hours before making it anywhere. She also became blind, and by some miracle she was able to see clearly again.
Yeah. I wish I can say she was sweet, but no.
Glad to meet someone else on the forum with Caribbean descents though. It made sharing this story seem better.

Isn't it just like, the phrase you see on the side of Macy's or Starbucks or whatever, when it's Christmas time?
Yeah, but it does not make sense. None of them serve beer.
