Finally got my set and watched the first two episodes. Most 0f the voices dont seem too bad but theres just something about Iceberg I dont like. In the japanese version i thought he was really cool whilst in this I seem find him kind of lame. Not the voice actor i'd of chose to play the part but will have to see how I feel when i've finished it.

I've watched the episodes multiple times, but haven't seen the last two. i still don't like his voice. Only really bad voice cast for this arc, imo.

Really? He started off sounding too snobby, but he's actually one of my favorite voices for this arc. And I love his "Well…" XD.

The 'well' is nice, but his voice sounds too monotone for me. It feels emotionless, yet his character is supposed to be hilarious with those first few scenes.

I dunno, I liked it. I thought his monotone responses was part of his humor, both Japanese and English. Like he just didn't give a damn about anything.

To each their own, though.

Nope, still don't have the rights. At this point it's fair to assume Map of the Heart will never be heard in English since we're halfway through. They've said recently they're still trying and hoping though.

! They credit the masked man as "Bluno" early on, misspelling the name. Then they credit Lucci later on in 240, before we know it's him. In 240, it's back to Blueno in the credits, but Franky and Kokoro call him "Bluno".
! BTW, Blueno IS disguising his voice in the dub. He sounds a bit bumpkinish.

Also a tad disappointed that, after a reprieve in Voyage Two, FUNi is back to throwing in exclamation marks into every episode title in existence….

! Hm, not sure if I agree with the Blueno voice disguise thing. You could argue that any way he talks in the bar is a disguise since it's not meant to be menacing and cold like his original "CP9" line to Robin. And I don't see the problem with the Lucci thing in the credits personally, I can't imagine someone finding that out unless they specifically looked for it but that's just me. Also doesn't Toei do the same thing? And Franky and Kokoro are pronouncing Blueno's name correctly.

That's because the Toei translations didn't really have a lot of exclamation points during those episodes, while 230+ goes right back to it.

! Misspelling names in the credits is nothing new; you should have seen the gems from movie 8. But as Maron said, it is Blue-no, or Bu-ruu-no in phonetic Japanese.

My apologies then, I must have been mispronouncing it in my head ever since I read it in the manga. I always assumed it was pronounced bloo-eh-no, like you'd expect in standard Japanese phonetics. So in this case, his name in Japanese must be written in such a way that it would be pronounced Bloo-no, but Oda chose to write it in English with this particular spelling.

I bet 4Kids! would've called him Bruno, and then we'd another Zoro/Zolo war on our hands.

What about Enies? I believe Sanji says it in English for the first time while he's reading the sea train departures board. Sounded like he said a plural "any". From watching the sub, I thought it was more along the lines of rhyming with genious.

Oh yeah, another thing I noticed. Stephanie Sheh was listed in the credits as background characters in a few episodes. She has done work for FUNimation in the past, but I wonder if she's been cast as something a bit more important in an upcoming release. Unless she just happened to be in Texas to record on another show, and they just asked her to stick around be one of the 2,000 background extras you need for each episode.

Any special characters coming up that would require a female voice? Maybe

! Fukurou? Or a young Robin?

Has anyone else been pronouncing Lucci as 'Luu-kii' for the past million years? I'd never seen his name in Japanese, so I had no idea it was ru-chi. Man. So shocked. Enies is 'any-ies'? I can deal with that.

I was a little unsure about Aokiji's dub voice at first but it grew on me. Ironic that the VA for King Cold is Aokiji (King Cold has cold in his name and Aokiji has ice DF power)

I never thought about this before, but you're right wow lol. That's a good way to describe it. Enies is "Eh-Nee"Ehz"

Never had trouble pronouncing Lucci as "Luchi" since I have a distant Italian background and his name is clearly Italian. Though I did say Enies Lobby "any's" until very recently.

I used to pronounce Enies Lobby as "eenees" until I actually paid more attention to the Japanese version in which they pronounced it like "any-es".

Most of the original episode titles have an exclamation mark after one of the title sentences, but not the other. FUNi consistently throws an exclamation mark after everything, whether it was there or not. Voyage Two was the first set to have a few FUNi titles with the proper solo mark, or none at all. It's something nit-picky I caught onto early on, and now I can't get it out of my head.

That happened to me with collection six. I ordered it a week before release, but didn't get it till two or three weeks after. Call them up. It'll definitely help.

Well I finished the set and I have to say I really enjoyed it a lot. I've learnt to accept Icebergs voice a bit more now ,but then when the last episode went off I was left really dissapointed before remembering that this is a great set I can watch again and again. Really cant wait to see the next voyage water 7 is great in english. The fight between Luffy and Usopp couldn't of been handled any better imo, the emotion that Coleen and Sonny put in was amazing can defenitely tell they had to record that multiple times. Credit goes to Mike Mcfarland on that one I guess. Oh and have to say Franky sounds suuuuuuuperrrrr.

Although I think the lyrics could be better, I really like hearing this in english. Here's hoping the rights issues are worked out soon, though even if they aren't, atleast we still have good fandubs like these to keep us going.

That was fantastic! Man, I want them to do Kokoro No Chizu. Even if it's a guy singing. I just want to hear that song sung in english, whether it's funimation that does that makes little difference to me. I'll play the english music while funi's dvd's are on mute to pretend, haha.

The singing isn't that good but I can say that this is definitely the best English fandub of Map of the Heart on YouTube. Again, the singing's not great…but yeah.

I've never seen as good a fandub as that rainbow star one. Yeah, I tried looking. There are no good Kokoro ones. If these guys made one, I'd be content. Wouldn't be begging for a FUNi one, at least.

Yeah, I still don't get why there aren't any good ones for this opening. I mean MidiGuy was just fine with singing Opening 14 even though that was sung by Namie Amuro and people like him and Shadowlink have done most of the other openings and with this being such a huge fan favorite…why not this one? I wonder if they held off since they thought it'd be dubbed like we did.

I'm shocked people hate Iceberg's dub voice so much. Iceberg is a character I thought was monotonous and boring as hell in the sub and the manga, so I was stunned by how hilarious I found him in the English dub. I've seriously done a complete turn-around on the character since I got the new DVD set.

I've enjoyed his English voice too actually and yeah it's honestly the best voice I can imagine for him.

The girl was Geekymcgeekstein, I actually managed to get her excellent covers of Soraio Days (Gurren Laggan) and Shiawasw no Iro (Ah! My Goddess TV OP 2) on MP3 before she disappeared from the internets. She also did a very catching cover of Naruto Shippuden OP 3 "Blue Bird". It's sad that Funimation couldn't discover her talent for singing and lyrics and hire her. She was really excellent.

Yep! That's definitely her version of the song. I don't recall her doing a One Piece fandub back in the day (circa 2009) I just recall her doing this, Shippuden OP 3, the other two I mentioned, and a cover of the first opening to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
