they did win, the shield just saved them from dying. Even if they had died or been critically injured they still won or drew. No matter how you look at it they didn't lose

I kinda have to agree in a way. I wish they could stand on their own for once for an unassisted win. Would be more satisfying I think. If only more manga had a better balance in power ups or individual achievements.

So why was there a giant telephone amongst the weapons? I know they were all jokey giant sized weapons like the light Tsuna crashed into, but I'm a little saddened we didn't get to see how the hell a giant telephone would be used in combat .
Poor Basil, the oddball of the elite flying squad, shot down like the useless character he's always been. Oh well. At least I got a slight chuckle out of him keeping his role of being the useless jobber (his intro was even jobbing to the Varia iirc, Squalo I believe).
I'll join in on being surprised Gokudera and Yamamoto won. Turned around the annoyance that last chapter made it look like Tsuna's group was going to do all the work. Still could've been better if Enma didn't need to be involved and Chrome handled using Verde's device to shield them instead of Flan, but I'll take what I can get with this series, I guess.
Overall it was a good chapter by post-Varia arc standards. Then again this arc in general has been the best arc since the Varia arc, although I guess that isn't saying much. Anyway, good chapter.
-
Chapter's out. That was interesting, though I really wanted them to shorten the healing of Basil so we could go on to the Jaeger fight. For some reason, Mukuro hasn't decided to use his illusions, so everyone gets raped. My prediction is that next chapter Verde will activate his adult form and fend off Jaeger somehow until Tsuna shows up.
-
I would have rathered Squalo not get killed.

He may or may not be. People actually die in this series, so at this point it's ambiguous. Since Xanxus told him to get up, I don't think he's dead… yet.
-
@Fire Fist:

We don't know that yet.
But yeah, shit's hitting the fan now.
And I think Xanxus was telling Squalo to get up because he shouldn't have been defeated that easily and was "in shock".
-
Tsuna isn't a wimp, for the time being, he is driven and cool. Pretty much the manga is actually starting to get good.
Thats probably why I've been able to enjoy the latest chapters.
-
I sorta miss the actual slice of life aspect of this show. I mean like after this arc, what's next? Could they be shown going through high school and college and getting to the point in the future where they take over from the 9th.

This might sound crazy but how about
! actual Mafia problems.

That too…But everytime they encounter a new group they fight then become friends or allies. Everyone is gonna wind up being a part of the Vongola in some way or another at this rate. It's never felt like a Mafia show. These guys seem more inclined for in house squabbles and saving the world...Tsuna and his buddies even if every thing is going smoothly never do anything Mafia like anyways. No under the table deals with local businesses, no bribing cops, no horse heads in beds.
-
I didn't mean for them to be the evil kind of mafia, but more like a territorial war with another mafia over a section of Japan would be pretty good.
That said, this is probably the last arc because most of the mafia rivals have been unified. Unless Longchamp's or Lambo's family is gonna do something completely out of nowhere.
-
It's just a theme for the series, people.
You dont see Luffy and his crew going around doing actual pirate stuff like plundering etc.

Yeah we do lol. Although they steal from villains and ruins.
I want them to be evil Mafia, cause fluffy happy times Mafia isn't interesting. There's like no police in this show so it's kinda pointless to not have another opposing force. At least with One Piece they are on the run from the Marines, general populous, government on top of other rival pirates. In this they are only known by a few of the other Mafia groups. I feel like they are in their own contained bubble that what they do aside from the future arc has no effect on normal people's everyday life.
-
Chapter's out. So called it. Exactly what I predicted happened. Figures. At least the final spread was cool.

Look at Verde doing stuff like a boss
-
I don't know why, but I can't help but laugh every time one of his limbs is cut off.

Prediction for next chapter: Jager is beaten but his watch is unbroken, so Bermuda uses the present function of the watch to turn himself into his adult form and kicks everyone's ass.
-
The last 2 chapters of KHR have been solid. Jager being a tough final villain isn't surprising anytime a bad guy appears very early on (and isn't comic relief) in a series and isn't dealt with or is unable to be dealt with he is going to be a motherphucker to beat. Liked the chapter though I don't like Verde so if Jager can beat him soon I'll be happy. Seeing Reborn vs Jager or Reborn vs Bermuda would be epic as hell.

Reborn can't fight. He's already expended all the time on his "Present". The only one that can is Bermuda now, and that's because Skull only used 30 seconds of his present, so there's 2:30 left on the watch. Unless Bermuda take it automatically resets it to the full 3 minutes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't Yuni have given Reborn her watch? She should still have her present, right?

Reborn can still fight. We were never shown exactly how much time he used, but the watch calls out "Uncurse time over" when the time limit is reached (as seen with Fon). Verde even mentioned this chapter that Reborn using his remaining curse time was part of the plan.

I didn't realize Reborn used his watch present for the full time against Imitsu*. I thought he had like a minute or 30 seconds left
-
Yeah Verde! Show 'em how badass nerds can be!
Got to see Verde in agundammosca. The series can end now. -
I don't know why, but I can't help but laugh every time one of his limbs is cut off.
'Tis just a flesh wound.

Chapter's out.
-
The super robot that the entire last chapter was used to hype up was destroyed in the first two pages. Well that was a waste of time.
And I really loved this little gem
"He didn't dodge my chain with his short warp so he must not be able to use it when I attack with my weapon even though there's no logical reason why it wouldn't work."
Attacks with weapon
"You were wrong."
"HOW COULD THIS BE!?!

I headdesked pretty hard over that.
I really hope Hibari does something else or this was a very pointless chapter. And I gotta love how Mokuro only used illusions to disguise Hibari and himself. Everyone else he just used shitty turtle shells.
-
Well either Yager didn't warp step on purpose to screw with Hibari or there was in fact a reason he didn't warp step Hibari's first attack (I hope for the second option).
-
Every prediction I've made about this arc has been wrong. But if I were to guess the weakness behind Jager's short warp, it's that the ability has only a limited number of uses and he warped too much before Hibari came on the scene. He can replenish his flame whenever he comes into contact with Bermuda, the creator of the flame of the night.
This is why Bermuda is constantly coming back down on Jager's shoulder throughout the fight and why that Vindice with the weapons made a point to tell Tsuna that he would never defeat Jager when he's together with Bermuda. I'm also guessing that the other Vindice draw power from Bermuda too since Tsuna noticed the one that Enma has pinned down was starting to breath raggedly. This need to draw power wasn't noticeable before since the previous fight had such a short time limit.
Anyway, that's my guess.
-
Bermuda's adult form HA
!
-
Bermuda's adult form HA
! he is so not as menacing as i expected. Good. Villains don't need to look scary or act creepy. They come in all shapes and sizes
-
GiGOLO!!…oh boy...so that's what he has been doing in his spare time.
-
! da fuck was this chapter?
-
I thought these came out on Wednesdays?
-
! Bermuda's adult form forever staring at my soul,I'd say it's pretty scary/creepy.
-
http://www.mangainn.com/manga/chapter/91600_tsunayoshi-sawada-vs-jager Chapter's out.
edit: THE FUCK. wow he's ugly.
-
now now…don't be harsh on the guy...clearly he is overflowing with smexyness...XD
-
I wouldn't call it a "adult form" he looks like a pre teen
-
Pretty cool chapter, I find this battle kind of interesting ever since the revelation of the arcobalenos past. Yes bermuda's adult form is creepy as hell… creepy in a realistic way.... that makes it even creepier. Finally some well written plot by the author.
-
Lol…With the slow reveal of the lips I thought we were gonna get another girl or extreme bishie....But I don't know what this is. He looks kinda like a VGCats character.
-
OOOOOOOKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY then.
-
If you listen closely you can hear Reborn fangirls panties drop, brake halfway, and shoot right back up. Poor guy looks like he got into a fight on his way to the Kid's Choice Awards.
Gold star to Mumbling2 for again predicting the chapter. Still good chapter tho. Bermuda's gotta stomp most of them or Jager won't stand a chance next fight.
-
it's possible that he'll just give all the vindice flames again. and We'll have another power up battle.

Well there goes the usual powerup. -
OH Snap! I don't care how cliche it is, I love crap like this. I'm so hype.
-
Oh, wow. Haven't seen the dying will bullet in a while. That's really cool.
-
The dying will bullet what a way to end it
-
I've been following the latest chapters. I think I stopped somewhere around the final fight with Enma during the Simon arc, and I never watched the anime tie-ins that are supposedly canon regarding the future arc and the like.
It seems like Reborn is finally ending. It's hard to top having all the previous characters coming back for one last round and having pretty much everything explained. The dying will bullet this chapter pretty much confirmed it in my mind as a coming full circle thing.
The series itself I think had a lot of promise. The designs and ideas for the series are pretty cool, but the Vongola Family could've used consistent character development, including Tsuna who seemed to always grow but reset in the start of a new arc.
The most memorable part for this series will be the openings and how as the series went on the plot became harder to follow and overall felt like it never lived up to its potential…kinda like D. Gray Man.
I remember really liking OP 2, 3, and 6 back when I was going through the series.
