Latest chapters weren't to bad. The last one annoyed me. Felt Karma could've been handled better, but ehh, I'll wait and see how it all works out. I still forget Nagisa is a boy like every other chapter though. Hell, even the role he's in seems a bit feminine in nature.
Assassination Classroom: End Time

I'm throwing money at the screen and nothing is happening.
I don't even know how to express how hilarious this statement was.

http://www.batoto.net/read/_/124882/assassination-classroom_v1_ch7b_by_utopia/2Not a bad chapter, especially since the Okuda was pretty cute. Looks like next week we get a femme fatale character. Hope she proves as promising as Karma did during his first appearance…
-
Glad there was focus on a different student today. I like her. This new assassin chick looks like she will probably be annoying. Hopefully not.
-
Psh, Luffy did that ages ago.
Sometimes i get surprised with little

Yeah, i liked Okuda's introduction too. And i hope the woman isn't an annoying bastard as well
Korosensei melting was… i don't know what adjective i should use, maybe a combination between unexpected/great .
:pouty:

I read all chapters in one go just a few hours ago.
I love it. Though only to a point that I can restrain myself from reading crappy translations and scans.
-
Shoot with your gun then lick the muzzle… She sure is a scary masochist.

Yyyyyes you called?

BOOBS.
BITCH BOOBS.
That pretty much sums up the chapter.

Bleh. Did you see this chapter raw? I don't see it anywhere yet.

Yes, I don't read scanlations

The chinese version again:

Chapter is out http://www.mangareader.net/assassination-classroom/8
With the fitting title of "Breast Time". -
Karma's a fucking riot! Also liking Nagisa a lot too. He's like the odd man out. Like all the other characters are pages in a book, and he's just reading it.
-
Well, wow, Karma is just straight up to the point. lol. I really am interested in the main Earth destruction plot. I hope the series goes into that. Otherwise it is pretty good for what it is for now and it's doing really well in the polls, too, so there probably won't be any rushing, which is the worst thing that can happen to a new series.
-
So it'll be a class x boobs arc, interesting.
-
A tentacle monster who likes breasts… what a twist!
But seriously, that was a pretty great chapter, especially Karma's part...
-
The only thing I'm disliking so far is Nagisa. Every time I look at him I can't believe he's the main character. He's been completely wiped of any trace of charisma.
For now it seems the ratings will let AssClass do its own thing, but I can't help but wonder if it'll be forced to shonen-ify down the line. Like, the kids are sent on assasination missions or something. -
I don't know the rankings Neuro had but it did become more shounen after a while(and more awesome IMO) so I can see it becoming more shounen.

I couldn't agree more. So far, his only purpose is to be the token trap and take a memo every other chapter. Hopefully the meeting he has scheduled for the next chapter will help him lose his blandness…
-
I don't see anything wrong with Nagisa, I like him. Or should I say "her"?

He's a boy you know? I think this chapter clarifies that.
Well i just look the chinese version of Ch9 and if you liked this chapter you gonna love the next, also the chapter 10 comes with color page.

-
Probably the worst chapter yet honestly.
Still enjoyable, but ehh
-
Considering Nagisa's family name is Shiota, we can all guess which character archetype he's playing off of
-
I liked the lady assassin more than I thought I would. neat.
-
The most interesting thing that happened in this chapter was that the author showed that he actually intends to let time pass. There won't be a perpetual school year with only small events happening; eventually the deadline to destroy the earth will come and with it will come sweet, sweet plot advancement.
-
I'm commenting just to have this thread as marked, I'm interested in this.
-
Great chapter. This is kinda reminding me of Negima though. Q.Q
-
Read all the translated chapters. This is really damn intersting series. I look forward to this along with One Piece and Toriko.
-

Theres nothing wrong with Nagisa per se, but his total meek inoffensiveness leaves him rather…unmemorable. I'm not saying every protagonist needs to be a Luffy-style livewire, but cynical Ichigo, slacker Yoh, hothead Edward, all had enough charisma to make them the reader accept their main character status.
Sadly (for him), Nagisa seems to be the Lucy to Korosenseis Natsu.
(I apologize for comparing Korosensei to Natsu) -

(I apologize for comparing Korosensei to Natsu)
I can't imagine a more offensive statement than "____ is like Natsu"

Nagisa is supposed to be this shy, uninteresting kid. It makes him a good proxy for the audience because we have this completely normal person beign thrust into an absurd situation. The contrast of it is what makes it funny.

This. Plus he's one of the mains, so no, he won't stay on the sidelines.
-
Who is exactly the Main Protagonist, Nagisa or Koro-sensei?
-
Koro-sensei is more an antagonist than protagonist.
-
-
Just like Light Yagami, right?
In a sense yes, though less serious, at least for now.

Harry Potter is by far one of the least interesting characters within his story- sometimes, he's so blank-slate that he's almost not a character at all. And yes, a straight man can be useful for making a joke work, but in that case what is fun is the situation, certainly not the straight man character himself.
For AssClass pretty much every single person in the series is "a normal person thrust into extraordinary circumstances", but that doesn't stop Karma, Bitchgirl, Poison Girl or Baseball Boy from having at least some personality/uniqueness/entertainment value to them.So yeah, you can make Nagisa a shy uninteresting kid because it serves a narrative purpose-
but that still leaves poor Nagisa just a shy uninteresting kid. -
Seriously dude, you need a vacation.

but that still leaves poor Nagisa just a shy uninteresting kid.Nagisa is the one we relate to so of course he's going to be the most normal. A good comparison is Watson and Holmes. Watson is the prototypical British gentleman with absolutely no clue what's going on and and spends most of his time admiring Holmes and trying to learn more about him by observing his character and methods. If he were more flamboyant and charismatic, well yeah we have a more interesting character but a less accessible story. Nagisa needs to be a normal every day person because the story is being told from his eyes and it's important we relate to him the most. You could add a couple of quirks here but they would be a tad distracting and more importantly, I'm pretty sure the author intentionally wrote this character pretty blandly because of the sheer absurdism of this character having to deal with such a situation makes it pretty funny and interesting.
Anywhere else, it would just be boring but here it serves multiple purposes so it's fine for me.

I know this has been brought many times already, but…

I understand where you're coming from, but it's still possible to depict a"normal" person that has a personality. Most normal people haveone, and frankly, Nagisas borderline emotionlessness makes him seem a little ab-normal. Like, he could pull off his face and be revealed as an android and it wouldn't surprise me.
Take Sena from Eyeshield 21 for instance. He's the "everyday normal" character we're supposed to identify with, but his cowardice, nervousness and growing courage gives him enough of a personality to be endearing as a character -while still being "normal" enough that people like Hiruma can bounce off him.
For now, Nagisa is more of a storytelling device than an actual character.

I'm kinda agreeing with The Daz about Nagisa. It feels like as if..Robin is the main character of One Piece. It's too early to tell right now though. Hopefully, he'll get more quirkiness.
