It doesnt, but it'd be pretty cool, dont you think?

So, with FUNimation getting a fifth season and another movie before season 4 even starts releasing add fuel to the chance of a TV release after Toei was so hesitant on giving FUNi more episodes to dub before getting back on TV?

No. And what hesitance before getting back on T.V. are you talking about?
-
In the off off chance op does get another chance on tv, based on the two most likely to pick it up which would you guys rather nicktoons or toonami?
-
Toonami no contest…Nicktoons may be better for going through more episodes at a faster pace but there's so much they'd have to take out that they'd end up having the sam situation Disney XD did with Naruto Shippuden.
-
I'm torn, but I'd prefer Nicktoons. "One Piece" could use a bigger outlet for the younger audience. The only real advantage I see with Toonami is that it's available in more homes. Edits for content don't matter to me as long as they can preserve the integrity of the story.
-
What about Vortexx? Besides Zexal and Power Rangers, the block has been pretty mysterious.

They'd have to cut out A LOT given the CW's strict broadcast standards.
-
I would say toonami but nicktoons has more pros then cons. They promote the hell out of dbz so we can assume one piece would get the same treatment, they showed movies, great timeslot as opposed to midnight or later. But what is the most important to me is that they'll get through episodes faster than toonami with more reruns.
As far as cons go, Minor edits? Meh we all know it won't be 4kids bad as far as edits go. Smaller audience? Well a little exposure is better than none.
-
Big difference is, despite Nicktoons being in less homes than Toonami, Toonami is a niche block on a major channel. Nicktoons is a whole channel dedicated to the 6-14 year-old boy audience that "One Piece" isn't reaching as much as the show as already reaching with 18 and up viewers.
-

Still, it's not as if it'd be as bad as the 4kid days, not to mention they could start at water 7(maybe air earlier episodes on the block too.)

Back when 4Kids originally put out a block on CW (this was when they also still had one on FOX), they had to edit things on CW that they could get away with on FOX. CW has stricter standards, and even a good dub from FUNimation wouldn't save it. When I say edit A LOT, I mean CW would look at it and say, "You can't air this show".

Thank you! No one else but me suggested this!

Dude, small stuff like Iceberg getting shot or Usopp having the crap beaten outta him would not fly on The CW's Saturday mornings. Not only are the network execs strict but they operate under the FCC so…yeah.
-
Of course it would fly, all they have to do is remove the blood and make the guns green! :P

I guess you have a point, just saying some options..
-
Yup. Its nice to have actual discussions instead of no posts at all or "Man I hope it could be on Toonami!" unanimously. I think Nicktoons is a better prospect than Toonami.

What about people dying?
-
People die in DBZKai. With Sparkles and some added agonizing breathing beforehand but they DO die.

That's on Nicktoons, a cable channel. The CW wouldn't be able to air any of the later stuff from One Piece.

But then they get sent to Other World and get wished back.
In "One Piece" people get shot to death and when they're dead, they're dead.
-

No, Nicktoons airs it without Glitter and agonizing breathing. When someone dies in Nicktoons they die and are DEAD…LOL.
Have you seen Toonzai's death edits? When you see them you will LOL.
-
I think nicktoonas is better than toonami but beggars cant be chosers
-
Couple weeks ago I was watching Kai on Nicktoons and I noticed they edited out the scene where Cell steps on Andriod 16's head. That's a bad sign to me. However watching One Piece from the beginning 1 episode per week…. ugh that would suuuuuuuuck.
Quantity or quality? That is the question here.
-
I think One Piece would be great for Nicktoons!
-
The dub won't bother me because we have the uncut boxsets. What matters to me is the pacing and what there going to do to make the show a success.
Cause One Piece was a success before here, although not Naruto or Bleach, it was still popular.
What will they do now.
-
Maybe after gt ends nicktoons will be looking for a good replacement. All funimation has to do is be like "hey there's this show that draws inspiration from dbz and its pretty awesome" though I know it's not that simple.
They could do premiers like with dbz, Wednesdays and thursdays.. Maybe even 2 for each day for a while.

Ahahahaha. Nicktoons is going to run that shit into the ground for a couple years.
Before Avatar: TLA, there was a policy at Nickelodeon that their shows can't acknowledge that they're ending. That way they can show reruns for yeeeeears. Angry Beavers' final episode was intended to mock this, but it was never made. The audio exists somewhere though. -

-
^Right, so we've got a few years until they're done with it.
-
They got rid of DBZKai as soon as it ended. :/
-
It still airs regularly. What're you talking about?
-
Actually I said that because I wasnt really sure and wanted someone to confirm it/deny it.
-
@Zek:

Well, they are on episode 46 now. So we only have 18 episodes left. If they go at 1 episode a week pace, we won't see GT ending till the first week of January. I am sure it will end before that though..
-
^"Done" as in "stop airing reruns according to what BatDan said."
-
Just because a show keeps getting reruns doesn't mean theyre not going to acquire a new one, gt was picked up after Kai ended so hopefully they try to find a replacement for gt.
Also they have been doing a new episode a day for the super android 13 arc..I think they'll then go back to two day premieres next week.

Nicktoons surely is well aware of "One Piece" by now, I don't see why they wouldn't be.
Also yeah Nicktoons will definitely keep rerunning their "Dragonball" series, but for any channel to keep growing they'll have to acquire more new shows over time to bring in bigger ratings. The only new show they have coming up in the future is "Huntik", but they announced it very quietly, which to me means they don't expect much from it. Who knows what show(s) Nicktoons might be looking at right now to bring home the bacon next year, if at all. Hopefully "One Piece" is up for consideration at this point.

Personally, I think the best course of action is to Twitter bomb the Twitter accounts of any network that has either aired anime in the past or shows signs of wanting to air anime with the #GivePieceAChance Hashtag and including a One Piece 101 video.

Yeah people are just twitter bombing Toonami, but honestly anything is fair game I think. Nick and Hub have a twitter.

Man, I remember the days when if you wanted a certain anime a air, you had to buy stores out of their branded Pop-Tarts. I had a sister who wanted Sailor Moon to air so bad in the 90's and talked my folks into helping her with the buy-cott. To this day I'm sick to death of Strawberry Pop-Tarts. This seems much easier…and cheaper.

Here's a list of the networks that would have any interest in One Piece at this point:
Nicktoons Network: Has the best shot at airing OP because they've aired Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball GT, both Funimation titles just like One Piece. They've also aired a few Dragon Ball Z Specials and Movies too, so add that to the list. The series would more than likely need to be edited to TV - Y7 standards, which mean no blood, no cigarettes, "flash" punches, much like Toonami version back in '07. They could air weekday premieres which would be a plus.
Adult Swim's Toonami: Has a fair shot as the marketing director of the network, Jason Demarco, has recently stated on his Twitter that they are looking at possibly airing a new long-running anime title in the future. More than likely the series would be 100% uncut, but have shortened opening/endings. A downside is that only 1-2 new epsiodes could premiere a week since there is limited room for Action shows on the network.
The Vortexx (on the CW): Since the block is changing hands from 4kids to Saban, the block is currently looking at new programming at this point. However, it's extremely unlikely One Piece would air due to the amount of edits the CW would require Funimation to do.
The Hub: They've only aired one real anime show so far since its launch two years ago, Deltora Quest. They do have a couple anime-esque shows like Kaijudo and Transformers, but that's about it. Unless they're willing to experiment with some more anime in the future, I'd say its pretty unlikely One Piece will air here. However the show could be rated TV-PG if it did air there, because several of there Prime Time shows have this rating.
So I think these four channels are our best bet for airing One Piece at this point. If we're going to do any "Twitter bombing" I'd say you should do it at one of these four channel's accounts.
-
About nicktoons edits: I've noticed that the movies and gt have shown blood and more violence so nicktoons may be more lenient with the edits now then when Kai first aired. Just watched the episode of gt where super android 17 was kicking vegeta's ass and unless vegeta had blood gushing out of his mouth they kept it intact.. So that's a plus.
-
Interesting…. I really hope nicktoons gets one piece.
-
I'm sure Nicktoons could have the best anime standards around (e.g. just show the toonami version of Gt and the DBZ movies) but with the Kai dub, Funimation made some strong precautionary edits in the last half of it for the CW 4kids Toonzai block..
-
Something worth mentioning…
It seems that CW may be allowing for stronger content on their CW kids block, with the launch of Vortexx. The WWE show that will be airing on it will be rated TV-PG (probably with a violence note), rather than TV-Y7, like everything else. While I wouldn't quite say anything just yet, but it might allow for some stronger action kids programming on the block. So, provided how far this goes, One Piece could potentially air on this block, as well as opening up other anime acquisitions with less edits. Though, that depends whether or not Saban is looking into other anime...
-
Yes! That would be awesome!!!!

Personally, I'm hoping it won't air on Nicktoons or The Hub, since I don't have access to either of those channels.
Anyways, One Piece airing on Adult Swim's Toonami would be for the best, of course.
-
One Piece becoming more and more popular it'd make sense for Nick to pick it up.
Adult Swim is slowly fading into nothing, I don't want it on that thing now. Nick is getting better at showing blood these days as some one said, maybe it can air on Nick like Dragon Ball does that way None NickToons owners can watch it too. -
Yeah, Nick, The Hub and The Vortexx are our only hope.

Actually the new Toonami block has preformed much better than the anime programming proceeding it. Also, Jason DeMarco, spearheading the new block, said that they are currently looking for another long running series (presumably to replace Bleach). So I wouldn't rule out Adult Swim yet.
Also, OP on Vortexx isn't since a pipe dream after all anymore, since we know that TV-PG stuff is going to be on the block.
But I digress, Nicktoons would probablly be the best way to go, since we would get daily airings and there would be less restrictions on editing there
