Gonna get a head start and just wait on Skype for y'all whilst I write.
Group Focus: The Back Scratching Initiative
-
-
I'm going to host another one on August 2nd if you all have no qualms with that. Timing would likely be the same.~
-
My skype is Gigglepuffy
I will get in on this when available
Just add me up
-
For those that weren't there, some of our highlights were that we discussed our own stories, our writing processes and motivation. We spent quite a lot of time on TheCrystalShip's turn, discussing screenplay writing for a show. All and all, the three hours pretty much flew by and we were able to trade some solid advice among each other. Kitsune did a pretty excellent job of stimulating discussion by asking questions and keeping the ball rolling.
Also, I'm now held under an oath to God to write the second chapter of Thriller Blend by next Thursday. So yes, the group conferences are working. =P
-
:D Hey, Cuddles, if you're on Skype, add me up right now.
Seeing how Cuddles has the most experience with these, I'll be here the whole time, I just might let him do most the talking or whatnot as I watch and see how it's supposed to be done. ^^
-
Alright, guys. The next conference begins in 30 minutes. If you'd like to get in right now, message me and I'll add you to the group. I'll be mediating the show for the first hour and then for the next two, the orchestration will be shared between Kitsune and Cuddles.
Feel free to bring cookies.~
-
I'll be here too so you know it'll be a treat
If you ever wanted to talk criticism with the shittiest talker in the west I'm your guy

MOAR EXCERPTS
Nukilik walked ahead of them, with Immuyak following close behind. Tikaani sighed before following as well. The trip was uneventful and it took them close to an hour to reach the pond. When they arrived, a bunny had been drinking innocently, ignorant that a hungry pack of wolves was looking to make it their prey.
“There we go,” Nukilik lowered his voice. “A little guy, perfect for beginners like yourselves.”
“But it's a child,” Tikaani challenged, flashes of the baby rabbits crossing her mind.
“Eat or die,” Nukilik replied. “If you're going to get soft, then you're going to starve. It's that simple.”
“You should take some lessons from Immuyak on empathy,” Tikaani muttered.
“I never took you for a soft-heart anyway, Nukka,” Nukilik smirked, getting under her skin.
Just you wait, she thought to herself. She really wanted to put this jerk in his place. “Alright, boss. What do we need to do to catch lunch?”
Nukilik grumbled something inaudibly before answering. “Well, for starters, rabbits are small-time prey. If you're going at it alone, that's really all you can handle. So, we'll start there.”
Nukilik crouched low in the bushes. “The first thing you must do is mask your presence. The element of surprise is crucial…”
“Like this?” Nukka asked her older sister as they eyed the small fawn intently.
“Yeah,” Shila nodded. “Now, the next step is to observe. Watch its mannerisms and look for any sign of weakness. You need to know your prey inside and out. Once you've found that weakness, you lean in...”
Nukka crouched even lower, grasping the spear in her right hand as tightly as she could.
“Wait for its attention to lapse for even a second...”
“..and strike!” Nukilik shouted, but before he could leap himself, Tikaani took charge. Before the rabbit could react, she would have her teeth at its throat. But she misfired and stumbled, scaring the bunny into the bushes.
“What the heck was that?” Nukilik growled darkly as he trotted toward her. “Get serious, why don't you?”
“Excuse me?” Tikaani growled back. “I am serious. So I tripped. My mistake.”
“Can you afford to make mistakes?” he asked her. “If you can't even catch a baby rabbit, you're done for.”
Immuyak then emerged from a nearby bush with the bunny's blood dripping from its broken neck. “How'd I do?”
“Not bad,” Nukilik's eyes lit up as he dashed over to Immuyak. “Not bad at all.” -
i really liked the discussions on narrative creation
thanks for putting up with my occasionally impeded speech
-
Sorry I bailed without contributing much to the discussion this evening. Had some unexpected roommate bonding time. I'll try to be more active next meeting. However, it was quite nice hearing your voices and listening to the discussion.
-
Goddamnit I'm working on August 2nd! :<
But hey, it's really nice to hear that you guys had a great time. Perhaps someday I shall be a part of that~
-
Don't worry, Kitsune will be hosting those conferences on August 2nd but I was already thinking of doing another one over a weekend sometime soon.
-
That was fun! Next time I'll contribute more into the discussion, but it was really fun.
-
Cuddles and Holy and Hero and all you other guys, I want to hear you. Try to make it to one of the morning groups, okay? :3
And Kenny, get a microphone. The cheapest ones can't be that much.
-
Really hard to get a word in being shy and coming in late and only being able to stay an hour, lol. But it was fun. Hopefully the next one I'll have more time available.
-
I really enjoyed it, though I hope my stammering get too much in the way of what I wanted to say. ^^;

I'd have come in the morning one if anybody had told me this was going down

@Cuddles:

You're more articulate than I am
-
Whether it's a weekend or a weekday doesn't matter for me since I don't get weekends off anyway. :< But that's an irrelevant problem that only concerns me and can't be helped so no use complaining, really. I'm assuming this will become an ongoing thing and I do stop working in October, so unless I have really bad luck I should absolutely be able to attend at least ONCE.
(Though I will say now that I refuse to present myself by speaking. I get nervous enough talking to one native speaker, a whole bunch listening would probably reduce me into an incoherent babbling mess.)
-
I spoke so much more in the morning meeting…I think Holy's hypnotic tone made me want to hear her talk more...and not cut her off, lest I miss a word.
That and I talk in nothing but dings so...
-
Y'all should have stayed for the afterparty, many important things were discussed…
-
For those that aren't aware, the morning conference hosted by Kitsune is starting right now.~
-
Yes, you are more than welcome to join in at anytime.~
-
If my computer decides to be nice…I'll be able to stay on~
-
I'll be there to rescue you from the clutches of boredom as soon as I can~

The writing conversation:
porn and mountain dew -
So Drydry…what is your favorite type of lubrication?
-
I felt like I was able to contribute so much.
-
I felt like I was able to contribute so much.
Hey, at least you speak the language properly.
I was freezing totally half of the time I tried to say anything because my brain blanked out on me and went like "Lol, dude, as if you could speak languages!". Frigging overexhaustion…
-
I feel bad I wasn't there when you were on Hiroy….I wanted to actually talk with you too...:(
-
It was off topic, but fun to say the least.
I'll drop in tonight if I'm wide awake or free.Dry: I was more joking about the off-topicness, but yeah. I like your accent =:3 So say stuff.
Shu: There's always other times. It's not going to be the last. -
To be fair, Kitsune, Kenny, and I were on topic in the very beginning at around 9:30 or so…everything went downhill when Jay came on though :ninja:
The three of us had a wonderful conversation about how to write a song so it would sound right when reading it, the ideas of writing data books as companions to Kitsune's stories, and how I can write more freely and less robotic...
If it was anyone's fault, it was Kitsune's for not advertising properly:ninja:
-
ugh i missed it
i didn't realize it was going to be this day
i told you guys to tell me :')
-
Like I said, when the huskie's away…blame the fox...
-
To be fair IT IS Foxes fault this time (no it isn't), because this entire thing was more or less unofficial and organized on a whim due to the last two being so awesome. The next "proper" ones should be more on topic when people actually have something writing-related to discuss. And it's always funnier to start joking around when there's something else you can fall back on when everything starts getting out of hand.
And sorry for bailing out on you guys and for being a silent jerk. I'm tired as heck and I think I borked my brain somehow, so casually chatting in your second language with people you don't share all the popular culture jokes and references with didn't really work out all that well. Next time will be better~ :)
-
Can it be a rule that Kits can't reference Lost ever again, be it intentional or not?
-
Can it be a rule that you suck Kenny's member
-
Ooooh, you done it now motha trucka…
But seriously, name the time and place Kenny;)
-
Dammit, I really wanted to be there today. :( Stupid work and meeting.
Maybe one day I'll have a Thursday off and meet the morning people. :/
-
Why didn't you guys tell me?
Whyyyy
-
There's another one tonight at 8 PM Central Time.
–-
This has the potential of being really useful and fun at the same time. I'll gladly participate if the timezones or my working hours ever give me the chance!
Do you have a usual off day?
The next schedule I build will be Laca friendly.~
-
Well I'll be on tonight at least so
-
Well that was fun! Next time I'll have my mic working so you can actually hear me.
-
Just posting this here for trapped's eyes:
Sai-Sai appeared on Skype and sung "I'll make a Man out of you".
-
We're singing mostly disney songs
i'm working on something elseee though
-
That was an incredibly eventual 5 hours.

What a blast. I got some helpful advice for what I felt were some of my weak areas, and got to shoot the breeze with some real cool cats.
I'd love to be a part of this thing again, so hail me on the nights when they happen!
