I can't stop thinking of Adult Swim's "Ass McGee" when it's called Assclass, except instead of dadsocks the asses would be wearing school uniforms.
Anyway I really enjoy this, stuff like this is one of the major reasons I am drawn to manga. Great use of panels, premise is obviously awesome, and I loved the dialogue and flow.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, that was a good first chapter. I hope this series goes on for a long time. JUMP needs more serieses like this and less like blech.
Cut out Bleach, Naruto, and Reborn, and Jump will finally have a breath of fresh air.
Also, Nagisa wasn't trap-ish at all, at least not to me. He had a masculine face, despite the pigtails.

Matsui does seem to have a good knowledge of English. Or at least a capable translatoor at hand. Great chapter, anyway.
Also I wonder why so many people are confused by Nagisa's physical gender and try to justify their favorable choice

I keep thinking Nagisa is a girl, then I reread a bit of the first chapter and saw that the back of his head appears to be shaved pretty close so that confirms his gender there.
Doesn't help that every other angle he's clearly a girl.
Nonetheless, very happy to wait for this chapter really. I really liked the character interactions we saw this week and shows me what direction this series will probably go in. The designs may not be amazing in terms of the class, but the writing is really nice.
I've got a few theories on where this could go and am eagerly awating chapter 3.
It'll likely have 10 or so chapters just introducing a main cast of sorts from the Classroom, then some new conflict will pop up. Can't say I have any clue where this series will go though. Based off this chapter, it's obvious that the classmates will all discover their true skill and ability by the end of the chapter and be freed of the social stigma of being academic rejects, but this can't just be a self-improvement manga…

I imagine we'll get some background on what exactly Korosensei IS at some point, but I'd be really disappointed if this becomes an intergalactic exploration/battle manga. Hopefully it stays on Earth. Really digging this. Matsui's always spot on. Loved Neuro, and I love this.
Other than the outlandish premise, the progress so far (chapter 3) has been pretty standard school manga.

I'm guessing he meant that woman on the ground, when he mentioned his "promise". What's important is that he actually divulged important information to one of the assassins. Off to read Chapter 3 now, hope it's not as bad as Aohige says.

It's not bad, it's just standard trope.
I'm not opposed to them as long as it's used as a founding ground.
I would have liked if Koro's true intentions had stayed a mystery longer, but I guess this won't be as long as Neuro (unless it eventually becomes a "monster of the week" thing like Hell Teacher Nube).

Oh goodness. I truly love the interactions in this series. Him planting the flowers, them coming at him with a smile and knives…
And the compiling of the weaknesses, smart. Can't wait to see the interactions between Korosensei and Nagisa when that's really developed.
I really dislike the art style, but I can't do other than like this premise. I really like the whole idea with the destruction of earth and everyone is still just thinking about the money. Kids these days, haha. I don't mind all the clichés either.
I think this is the big difference between assclass and Sensei's Bulge, there's a very specific task that they need to overcome. Without any specific morale.

Love the angle Matsui show the problem of E Class at. I wonder how far he will take this issue and how many character can he manage at most.
And Korosensei's weaknesses - now that's some character flaws alright!
Koro wants to destroy the world and is essentially a freaking tentacle monster, but damn is he loveable. So funny and weird. This series really is off for a good start.
Maybe I'm just not into these type of manga but so far reading it feels more like a chore than pure enjoyment. I do think Kuro is an interesting character though and can't wait to see its past.

Give it some time man. Before we'll know what the deal with the teacher is, I'm sure we're getting some chapters fleshing out the students, chapter 1 introduced Nagisa, chapter 2 the baseball kid, and now this obviously crazy kid in chapter 3.

I suppose chore isn't the right word but what I mean is simply that it isnt as interesting to me because I don't really read this type of manga but I can understand the praise it's getting and will continue.

Just read through the first three chapters. Didn't expect this to be so entertaining. I really hope it doesn't end up becoming very serious, I enjoy the lighthearted nature.

I rather like Karma. Dude drinks from juice boxes and can actually do something. Looks like the cute psycho guy type. Not a fan of the gym teacher guy.
