Lmao. It was quite a long one too. They seem to be really upping Hisoka's game this go around lol.

Today's episode was fantastic. It didn't have any action but still. Also Ging have a good voice.
-
Another great episode. The Whale Island scenery looked absolutely beautiful! and Ging's voice actor sounded awesome!
-
I rather enjoyed this weeks episode, although I'm still hoping that they aren't just going to skip over the Kite/Kaito or whatever his name is supposed to be story. Them leaving out Gon's bear friend and not even mentioning Kite/Kaito when talking about how he found out Ging was alive while thinking his parents died in an accident really disheartened me to that.
-
Maybe they're leaving out Kite because Madhouse is only slated for 40/50 episodes at the moment which would take to the end of York New and maybe extend into Greed Island. I might have heard wrong but maybe they're out to make a more shorter more linear version instead of drawing onto overarching plot that may not even get touched if the franchise does not generate popularity.
-
Ahh, that's a good point, I suppose me hoping that they would continue past the old anime and proceed into the Ant arc was a pretty silly thing to do without really looking into anything.
-
Oooh I didn't realize Ging's VA was Rikiya Koyoma. Fate/Zero ending last week has me all bummed out whenever I hear him now. Adorable episode. <3
-
i will kill someone if this series doesnt go past gI
-
I imagine they'll get up at least 50 as we only have 3 episodes now for all of York Shin if it was 40…but even 13 episodes doesn't seem long enough to cover it all for some reason.
It may well end at 50 and then they have another season at another point to continue. Madhouse aren't the same as Pierrot or Toei, they throw a fair amount of budget into their productions so they can't keep going without a break.
-
For some reason I thought Gon's mom was dead, but watching the last episode of the anime I saw she's probably still alive. She and Ging just… "divorced". Maybe she will play some role linked to the dark continent?

I assumed that she would resurface at some point too. "Separated" is a interesting choice of words.
-
I'll find it hilarious if Gon's form during the chimera ant arc actually represents what he'll look like as an adult, and he takes it after his mother compared to how short Ging always seems to look.

Question from someone who is experiencing his first HxH hiatus-how lond do these last on average?

I think the longest was when it stopped at 260, that was around 2 years I think? Since then it seems the hiatuses are 10 months to 16 months
-
That…sucks.
Anyway,thanks for the info!

There's still hope. Fairy Tail did a similar thing with Gildarts; he wasn't even mentioned at all until the episode where he came back to the guild, so they could do something similar to that.
-
I don't know if this was already post, so you can ignore it if it was already…
!
-
So…Weird. Ilumi getting into it was pretty great. I kinda wish they had an episode like that.
-
Zeno being all "Do me too do me too!" was pretty great.
-
Last episode was perfect, forgot to say that, liked it even more than the Hisoka battle because of the romance and looking up at the starry night and "Yo, Gon." This episode was a'ight, obviously really liked the Ging sequence (I love Madhouse and their inspired animation). I was really happy they kept the life-sized figures. Was the Togashi dog doll on the shelves anywhere? I couldn't spot it. I remember there being some other figures on there as well, like Godzilla I think, and Yusuke?
Time for some York Shin!!!

http://i.imgur.com/DQfWo.pngI didn't notice a lot of the figures that were there in the anime due to the lighting, which is probably my fault to some extent. I did happen to notice Kurama in one of the scenes though, so I figure that goes to say all of the others were probably still up there as well.
-
So they went with the "no Kaito" road.
-
Well just have to wait and see. Kite is in the intro, his appearance will come up. Just hoping it's before the end of GI.
-
I don't remember Kite having another showing until after GI ending, I suppose they could do it with a bit of filler or something. Personally I would have prefered they showed him without doing that, just in the end I hope they don't just leave him out and not proceed past GI like the 1999 anime and OVA.
-
I wonder if I had never seen the original if Kite being introduced so late would bother me lol. I think it's fine right now if they actually didn't bring him up till when we next see him after Greed Island, because it ties into the arc after it anyways. We know he's important to Gon but there was so little panel/screen time anyways.
-
Yorkshin arc is amazing. Great use of a wide cast of characters. a few great plotlines all going on at once that tie into each other. Adventure, action, and mystery
-
Kite doesn't make appaerrance at all but i'm hoping madhouse introduces him a little more early so that we can build some sort of mystery behind him. I think the story would flow better. That's just me though.
Anywho Hopefully madhouse will suprise us.
-
I'm up to 35 in the anime and it's awesome so far. The pacing and animation is wonderful.
-
If your interested you can get a pretty good look of all the new Phantom Troupe character designs from the official HxH website. http://www.ntv.co.jp/hunterhunter/character/genei.html
Example and probably my favorite
-
Uvo and Feitan are probably the two best looking ones in the group, in my opinion anyways. Although Shalnark and the girl with the glasses (I honestly forgot her name) also look pretty nice I think.
-
Just got caught up. Great series, except Gon is by far the least likeable of the main four and Nen is kind of overcomplicated.
Can someone explain why Kaito is a woman now? I really don't get it. I also don't get what Pariston was after.

He got reborn as an ant with his personality intact.
-
But why did he get reborn as an ant? I thought his dead body was being used as a puppet.
Oh, also the sudden Gon deus ex growth spurt was hilariously ridiculous
I wish Pitou had lived, seriously

Looking through the volume covers, man are there some incongruous ones lol

It has been mentioned that Kite had an ability that could bring him back to life:

We just don't know the exact conditions to it yet. Also while the whole "Gon becoming an adult" part was a little out of left field to say the least, Gon snapping that badly had been foreshadowed.
-
Yeah, I like that Gon was faced with a hard reality (Pitou healing an innocent girl = can't wreak revenge on an evil ant), and that he was put through an emotional wringer and therefore said some nasty things and lost his shit.
But the adult transformation thing, oh god, with the sky high hair
I was laughing so hard
I really would have preferred it if Gon just let Pitou go. It would have made far more sense dramatically, having Gon fall into a deep malaise and lose his confidence
-
I personally liked the transformation but yeah I can definitely see that reaction haha
-
I also don't get what Pariston was after.
His aims haven't really been explained yet. Particularly, the 5000 cocoon incident. But I'm sure that it has to do with Beyond Netero's schemes in "the Beyond." Maybe that whole game was played to provide a distraction to Pariston's actual intent.
Quick question: tell me, what specifically do you find unlikable about Gon?
Also while the whole "Gon becoming an adult" part was a little out of left field to say the least, Gon snapping that badly had been foreshadowed.
Actually, the "Gon becoming an adult" isn't as random as it may seem. I'll write up a longer post later explaining it.

I agree with this, but I am beginning to like Gon more and more.

I think Gon is the best among the main four characters.

This and adding the fact that Reinforcement types can transform (Biske's case, even if it was kinda the other way around).

You're thinking transmutation types when it comes to transforming. Biske's a transmutation type, not reinforcement
-
I thought Gon's transforming had to do with that Nen condition thingy like what Kurapika does to gain his strength. That Gon made a deal and boosted his power beyond what he should have so his body aged to deal with it.
It is funny though. Gon isn't a character I watch or read this series for. He's around Leorio level of interest for me. Leorio got a bump up with that hit on Gin lol.
-

No way ! I don't know why i always thought she was reinforcement…silly me.
And Gon couldn't go adult mode without a condition, not sure but i think Killua stated it at some point.

I believe Pitou also mentioned something about not being able to reach that state without being prepared to never use nen again, that it was a power he could only achieve by sacrificing all of his natural talent. I could be wrong though.
-
With Pariston. I believe that he felt a little out of place with Netero gone. He didn't have somebody to "play" with pur say, so he took his feelings out on the election as a tribute to Netero's passing.
For Gon transformation, i believe Gon was to unstable for some just mediocre reaction to Kite's lifeless body. Pitou had lied to him and tried to kill him right on the spot. Gon sacrificing his life just to kill one person is pretty in character for him. So it really wasn't out of the blue. If you keep in mind on how Gon deals with situations throughout the whole series (Gon vs Gethru), it'll be easier to understand why such a transformation isn't that much random, especially for Gon. If you follow the series closely you can notice that Gon isn't all there sometimes.. lol
Well thats my little opinion on it.

Pitou did actually say something along those lines. He was actually happy that Gon had use that power on him and not the King.
-
From what I've understood,it must be one of those cases when the Nen powers grant the user something mighty in exchange for very high stakes.Sorta like Kurapika's Chain Jail that can work against the likes of Chrollo.
-
Besides, it was written very well why Gon broke down and could accept throwing away everything to come to get it all now for a moment. With Nen you really must accept it, not just say it. If it was written badly, then it would be a grand asspull in the best traditions of Kubo. But Togashi explained previously how Nen works with mental state of fighter, showed us "the pledge and plea" thing with Kurapika and wrote how Gon broke down. After all, nen comes from spirit.
Also I like how Togashi showed the payoff for powers. Usually it's all bandages and off-screen, but not this time.
About Kaito. I think Ging lied about Kaito's "not gonna die" trick, just to make Gon feel a little bit better. If I'm right, Kaito got his brain eaten by ant queen, and thus he could awaken when he was reborn as an ant. The body was left as a brainless puppet.
@Gliblord:I really would have preferred it if Gon just let Pitou go. It would have made far more sense dramatically, having Gon fall into a deep malaise and lose his confidence
Despite being a nice plot turn, that was not possible. Pitou already decided that Gon is too dangerous because of his willpower when boy was waiting. There was no way she would have left. And if she did, she would give her cells to the King, thus making him invincible and probably immortal. With her ability Meruem would've got rid of the poison in no time.
