What makes you think those two games are all Nintendo has up its sleeves? Pikmin 3 was obviously going to be at e3 and we already knew it was on the wii u. The mario thing was speculated since last e3. Nintendo usually tries to be pretty tight-lipped about this stuff, so I'd honestly expect that they've got something bigger planned

I'm not doubting that they probably have something else.

However, it's not likely to impress me. The only potential Wii U title I would have been interested in that I believe would be feasible to show at this E3 (in terms of series' release patterns) would have been a 3D Mario platformer, but that's pretty much thrown out the window with this.

WHat about a brand new IP for hardcore gamers? Or some nice third party games?
Besides which, Nintendo doesn't really care about impressing you specifically, and the facts are that New Super Mario bros Wii has sold over double what Galaxy has, so for Nintendo this is probably a better business move than a 3d mario

You know what I'd like? New Super Mario World. In the original game, you could spin-jump, but the game never forced you to at all. In romhacks, it's another story. I'd also like to see P-switches and keys come back as a focus. Yoshi already came back, so he can stay back. Also the Chargin' Chuck enemies, those guys were great.

basically, I want a mario platformer with the Wiiu's graphics and power, designed by the guys who make hacks like Super Mario Something, or Mario Gives Up. Not Kaizo-level difficulty, but something significantly more challenging than the NSMB games.

Co operative four player game, each controllers screen displays your captain and your gameplay, the TV screen displays a map of the level complete with objectives and the Pikmin you all as a group have at your disposal, each Captain can have up to 100 Pikmin as usual. The "has to be done in one day" mechanic still remains, except this time you have to manage yourself and your other players all at once as a group, some objectives have to be completed using teamwork, while many objectives require just one player, forcing players to decide who teams up and who goes alone all in the interest of time management and to complete as many objectives as possible in one day. Perhaps each level could have a boss battle too where all four players have to team up and fight with a 400 strong Pikmin army.

lol no. miyamoto said he wants to try and find a way to incorporate the ideas of wii music into something else that is worth the money. If we do get a wii u music it will probably be an eshop title

that's a good idea but the only problem is the wii u only accepts 1 screen controller atm. They might be able to get 2 working by e3 but 4? no. For 2 player co-op that could work though

2p coop option is fine, but what if I don't have any other Pikmin loving buddies to play it with? Pikmin has always been a single player focused game, and that shouldn't change at all.

If 2 players are an option, great. If it's required, then my want for this game drops dramatically.

Thy definitely wouldn't force multiplayer. They didn't even do it in actual multiplayer based games like Four Swords Adventure or NSMBW.

Now I don't agree with your statement at all. Nintendo already said that the WiiU is not going to be $250 or under so that was expected. While I understand that $300 is a hefty price for some, that doesn't mean it's a bad move on the consumer. The WiiU is a next generation system and thinking that they'll price it at the same price as the Wii was right of the bat, that's abysmal thinking in my opinion. $300 is probably the best deal we'll get unless, as I stated before, Nintendo sells it for a loss at $250. Remember people, though a lot of companies fuck over consumers, they still must make their money first before anything.

They're going for a larger amount of 'gamer' gamers this time (just like the 3DS) so they can't be expected to sell a console with an inflated price on the strength of a gimmick, like they did with the Wii.
It's not like they'll take losses by pricing it lower, rumors say one Wii U costs like $180 to make.

We have no idea how good the graphics really are, and there's also the controller, which honestly does seem like it could add new dimensions to games (more than HD in all honesty, which is nice, but adds nothing to a game beuyond looking a bit nicer). Not to mention that rumor (and it IS a rumor) would be a cost of parts, which excludes a lot of more important costs like manufacturing, advertising, R&D, and the like. Judging the profits solely from the price of the parts compared to the price of the system (and again, this is the price YOU buy it from retailers, not the price Nintendo sells it to them for, which we don't know) is ludicrous

Lol it won't be 250. Anything below 300 would be 6 year old hardware. Nintendo would have to be TRYING to have a less powerful console than 360 and PS3 at this point.

Cite your source on this sir. Because currently, from everything I have heard, we have more than 3 sources all reporting on the power of the Wii U and we've been told it's:

-10 times more powerful than the 360
-5 Times more powerful than the 360
-Better than the PS3 by a very small amount.
-Pretty much on par with the PS3/360
-Worse than the PS3/360

The only source claiming it's weaker than the other two is the only source who "wished to remain anonymous", so I don't put much faith in it, but the current state of rumor on this has all the info basically be drastically all over the map with no real solid information WHATSOEVER.
So before you start calling $300 overpriced, maybe you should wait for some actual official specs? Like, oh, lets say E3?

Alright, I concede, there have been no concrete reports on what the tech is like or how much the production costs are.
So uh..I will indeed look forward to E3.
And I've never heard about the Wii U being 10-5x more powerful than the PS3, I'd be super stoked if that were true.

Wii U can run the UE4 which is only for next gen consoles, according to Epic. It will be plenty powerful, more so than the PS360 anyway.

If it's just like the demo last year, it's going to feel like a cheap cash-in at best. NSMBWii already did, even though it actually had good levels (unlike the DS game). Not to mention that the whole aesthetics and music of the New Mario series generally feel terribly bland compared to the other main games.

Regardless of that, Nintendo will have a great E3. As usual, when their generations are about to start. I imagine that they had to rush the reveal last year, because of the leaks. This time, they'll go full out with their 1st party and it will be beautiful. Pikmin and Mario were known, so they can safely talk about it, but of course they still have tons of surprises left.

Do some research man. Seriously those reports were anonymous rumors. We have actual evidence through Aliens, Battle field, and Dark Siders that there is nothing different visually about these games. And that was from the first development kits. Everyone on record has said either it's on par of even higher than the specs of PS360.

Obviously not everyone knows what I know personally, so I can't sway you with info alone or I could get friends of mine in trouble.

But still, Nintendo trying to lessen the power of their system to keep the cost down? So they made it really powerful sent out development kits, then decided to go back? Think about that for moment.

If the developers at Epic are happy, that means they can sell their engines on Nintendo's consoles. Epic has always hated Nintendo, especially in the early Wii days. If they are loving the Wii U thats because they know how powerful it is and it pleases them.

Maybe Epic Games in general during that time, but I know that Cliff Bleszinski was a fan of Zelda. Heck, he's even gone off on the Nintendo haters going against the Wii U last July.

Mario sidescrollers haven't been challenging since Super Mario Bros 2.

New Firmware update coming 4/25. Features ability to create folders to better organize the Home menu. Each Folder holds up to sixty spaces(For games, videos, demos, etc.). Plus, patches coming for Mario Kart 7, New Love Plus, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance to fix certain issues in the games.

_Pokemon Black & White 2 to release on 6/23; New downloadable software for B&W 2 in the form of a Pokemon AR shooting game. Capture Pokemon from the AR game that plays similar to Face Raiders, in which captured Pokemon can be used in B&W 2.

New Pokedex 3D update coming soon called Pokedex Pro. Update contains all Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn & Sinnoh regions._

Nintendo planning to celebrate Kirbys' 20th anniversary; 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure to debut in Japan next week, Wii memorial software, original goods. Nintendo will release special Wii collection game with favorite classic Kirby titles this summer. Plus, here's the official anniversary logo:

New super mario bros 2 sounds alright. I much prefered it on ds than wii although i'd rather not be getting 2 New super mario bros this year (3ds & Wii U)
The animal crossing release date for japan gives us some inkling to expect it either round the same time or in december. I hope it's not pushed back to 2013.
I'm a little worried about pokemon AR capture because it makes it sound to easy to get rare pokemon. Pokedex update is good though.
Firmware update sounds very useful, especially for the OCD in us.
I wonder what sought of games will be in the kirby comp. I still need to get epic yarn and return to dreamland but i have all the others (except dreamland 2 so i'm expecting that this year)

I'm happy too that Kirby is getting some major recognition for his 20th anniversary. As I said before, the little guy really deserves it; I always have so much fun playing the Kirby games...

I think Sakurai must be proud that his original creation is a valued piece of Nintendo's gaming history.

Any ideas/knowledge of the others? I'm guessing Pokemon or Fire Emblem. Maybe Rhythm Thief. Would be nice for a Xenoblade one too but doubt it

Oh, and I got Mario Tennis as well. I think everyone got that for promotional reasons but I got also a message that there'll be more new puzzles via SpotPass in the next weeks. Got method of advertising I guess.

i havn't got one yet. I imagine it could be like the kid icarus one so only the one although if there are more a fire emblem one seems likely as the game was just released in japan. Pokemon one maybe but i don't see it until black & white 2 is released or nearer that time.

Ah the idea of catching Pokemon in real life via AR and then transfer them to your copy of B2/W2 is pretty awesome!
Doubt it'll be free software but I'll get it! "Pokemon Snap" in RL and you can transfer them to actually fight with the PKMN, great stuff.

Nintendo pisses me off yet again.

I'm happy they showed Animal Crossing, and I'm happy we have a timeframe. However, that timeframe should have been Summer, not Fall. Instead Nintendo announces another Mario game out of the middle of nowhere, and now it's what comes out in summer. You know, if you have to release any more Mario games, could you please at least release the one that you announced two years ago instead of this?

I couldn't even possibly care less about New Super Mario Bros. anymore, and this is just complete and total overkill. They are milking the Mario cow dry. They're not going to have any left to release later in the 3DS's lifetime. Doesn't sound too smart to me.

Seeing as NSMB2 takes everything from the other games it probably was much faster and cheaper to make and will make more money than Animal Crossing. I can see why it's coming so soon.
