Oh god,I used to watch this a lot when I was a kid, seen it millions of times.
Hunter x Hunter II

-
Fuck i just remembered that it was gonna be a recap episode today. But finally its gonna be over with.. lol Next week should be good can't wait for dat one!
-
Next week is Heavens Tower, right?
-
-
No, that's this week, isn't it?
-
Yeah next week should be start of one of the best training arcs. I liked how Gon and Killua interacted with each other this last episode.I think their friendship is going to definitely shine because so far Madhouse is doing a good job.
-
I think it's Mito filler actually, possibly a recap?
he's talking about episode 27 which will be the start of the Heaven's Arena arc.

And we all know just because of that they'll stop at Volume 7.

oh, Viz, you never stop to amuse me!
first you force an international site to remove all the content licensed by you for the users worldwide, then you make your site available only for the North America..
America is not the center of the world, you know? -
@'ko:
America is not the center of the world, you know?
I'm guessing there's some licensing reason here. I doubt they just went 'Let's make our site only available in America, and miss out on a lot of advertising views'.
-
I'm excited to watch Heavens Arena in the new anime; I want to see how Madhouse treats Gon vs. Gido. There's something kind of perverse about Gon's actions and words in ch50 that wasn't captured in the older version.

you didn't get it. (obviously)
why make Mangastream stop doing scans at all? couldn't they block it only for the USA, cause they own the license THERE, not WORLD-WIDE. Why Italians, French, Germans, ecc. must be denied a scans site because the American company is directed by assholes? -
There are other online manga viewing sites and mangastream
Sucked. The only thing they were good for was releasing series early and that's it.
And how do you find these other online viewing sites? You can A. Ask around or B. Fucking google it.Ok just watched episode 26 which was a recap ep that covered events from the 4th phase of the hunter exam, the 5th phase of the exam and the zoldyk arc. The preview for next weeks ep looks awesome. Wing and Zushi are featured and Zushi has brown hair ( I always thought that he would be a blonde)

There are other online manga viewing sites and mangastream
Mangastream wasn't an online manga viewing site, or at least it wasn't just that.
It was an scanlation. The translations usually had some mistakes, but I don't think it "sucked". And scans quality was great. -

mangastream provided the best english scanlation for hxh during its previous run =/ in fact, before they shut down, they were the only group that did hxh consistently.

I'll repeat it one more time: Viz didn't have the right to completely block Mangastream, they should have just blocked the access from the USA because they CAN'T decide for the worldwide users/editors -

They own the rights. They have "the right" to block it.
Online viewers are illegal. Maybe it's an inconvenience to your region, and that's unfortunate, but it doesn't make them any less illegal. Viz, in purchasing the rights, has every right.
There are other online viewers like Geppetto said, hope you can find the series without trouble on one of them. -

I'll repeat it one more time: Viz didn't have the right to completely block Mangastream, they should have just blocked the access from the USA because they CAN'T decide for the worldwide users/editorsIt could also depend on if they're working in conjunction with the Japanese manga companies since getting an English-speaking company is pretty much the only way they can go against piracy. Also, I guess the fact that mangastream shut down means they can decide it since that's exactly what they did. :|

I always just assumed sites like Mangastream were US based, and that's why they were compliant with Viz's demands.
If they were international, then they wouldn't have to listen to Viz right? (unless the are indeed in collaboration with Shueisha)
/unsure how these things workIn any case scanlation sites are illegal so you don't really have any moral ground to stand on.
Just be glad that scans are and will always be widely available on the internet. -
Mangastream wasn't an online manga viewing site, or at least it wasn't just that.
It was an scanlation. The translations usually had some mistakes, but I don't think it "sucked". And scans quality was great. If you're able to view the manga on a site than it's an online viewing site, yes they did scan it and translated it but still it was a online viewing site none the less and I'm not saying they sucked because of translation errors no i'm saying that because a good portion of the time character sounded like they spoke in really bad english the kind that can be read in old chinese kung fu movies with sub titles.
mangastream provided the best english scanlation for hxh during its previous run =/ in fact, before they shut down, they were the only group that did hxh consistently.
I believe Kewl was translating this series and it was actually getting released on mangareader a day before mangastream with better translations.

this is the last one about this, I understand I went Off-Topic and I'm sorry, but

…if you don't buy the actual manga when it's released in your country.
Unfortunately I buy the series I like, and I read them online just because I don't want to wait years to know what happens, and because I like the vibe of reading them week by week. Heck, I also bought Bleach for a while, before I realized (thanks to the scans) that it was complete shit. It's just a preview to me, to be able to decide if I'm gonna buy that or not when it will be published in my country.
I know there are people on this forum who never held a tankobon in their hands and act like super manga experts just because they have a huge amount of scans on a hard-drive, but I honestly pity them. The fact is, Viz should only decide in regards of its own country. (yes, I made it bold) But I understand you people don't get it and are not upset by this, because "if we can't read them, then nobody else should!"
AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!Luckily Mangareader is still working, but I can see it being shut down in the near future, just like OneManga, MangaHelpers, MangaStream and the others. The most popular site at the moment has always been shut down in the last few years.

We just don't know what the hell you're complaining about.
Scans are widely available (and always will be) on the internet, so just go read them. You're never gonna miss your "weekly reading experience" or whatever.
And it doesn't matter whether Viz has the right to silence these sites, they've always been operating outside of the law anyway. You don't get to fucking complain when you get caught doing something blatantly illegal. -

Mangareader isn't shutting down. Licensed series are already blocked in the U.S.
Which is pretty much what you would ask for. Anyways most of mangastreams "revenue" came from the U.S. so it would be pointless for them to keep scanlating licensed manga, yet blocking it in the U.S.
It's not all about you, ya' know.
-
We will always have places to view this stuff online. But at the end of the day if you aren't paying for this material then you should count yourself lucky.
As for morality: I read a series till I'm sure of its direction and possible conclusion being worth my money, then I buy it. After all I won't just buy everything in sight in the hope I'll stumble across a winning series. Online sites give me insight and inform me enough to know I am investing in something worthwhile.
I count myself lucky To have this service available to gain good judgment on the series I buy, and will always try to buy the series I like to ensure the author receives something in return for their work. That said some series seem next to nigh impossible to get a hold of, or at least take several years to become available in both quality and translated so I can understand it.
(Damn tamura)
-
That's why I buy the HxH volumes to support the author and to show viz that there are still fans of it here in the states otherwise they'd pull it off the shelve's. There are also series that I rather buy than read online like for example even though I read vol 1-4 online I plan on buying the complete series of Naussicaä of the valley of the wind.

and of course we have someone generalizing all Americans to have the same opinion, jesus people like this should really spend sometime in our country, no one agrees on anything!!!
and I actually agreed with you, but I see no problem with what they did to mangareader, everyone who's not in America can read it
-
I can't wait till the new episode comes out that way we can all talk about that
-
lol, Yeah the next eps coming up should be worth talking about for sure. I really like how Killua's character develops during this arc. He's the one i think who gets most of the spotlight. His personality and sheer badassary comes into play which is awesome. I believe Madhouse will deliver.
-
I just can't watch this series till it catches up to the old one. Except a few fight scenes with the spider, and perhaps anything involving silva and Zeno. The new series is great and does the old version justice, but it's not so great that I find myself wanting to watch the new version.

That's too bad, you'd be missing out big time.
Btw lets make this clear: its doing the manga the justice it deserves, not the old anime. It doesn't really need to compete with something its already outdone (IMO)
This is really the definitive version in capturing the manga's spirit.
Plus why pick up where the old one left off only to get stuck again? Honestly your really not giving the new anime enough credit where credit is due

Great! episode. The opening is practically the same but it was still good, and the new ending was freaking fantastic!

Gah! Oh well. I'm guessing their really trying to push this song to be the series main "theme" . Kind of like what toei did with "we are" for one piece.
Heck you even hear variations of it all over the place in the episodes.(departure)

Today's ep was amazing.
-
I can't stop watching this ED song!! It's like Nisemonogatari's OP 3 (Platinum Disco), it has some hex that draws you in! RARRGGHHHHH. Luckily I won't be getting as many heart attacks from this ending, though (Tsukihi from Nise was too cute).
Also can't believe they showed Kuroro and the Spider Troupe! That was pretty early, wasn't expecting them to be ani-fied so soon.
-
Anyone else notice the Mr. Heart (Fist of the North Star) reference when they displayed Zushi's first fight? lol'd hard.
Wish there was a gif of that.

Good eye, that's some funny shit. lol

I believe Kewl was translating this series and it was actually getting released on mangareader a day before mangastream with better translations.
he did from time to time, but not every chapter and the scan quality (sometimes even translation and quality control) wasn't as good. the point is no series was doing hxh consistently as ms did. this is why for like two or three chapters in the last run there was a lot of moaning and groaning because mangastream's chapter did not come out until friday. if there were so many groups scanlating hxh on a regular basis there wouldn't be such a long wait: the moment ms falters, a competing scan will have theirs out in no time. there weren't.
of course after ms shut down its jump titles a group had the incentive to pick-up hxh again and release it as early and consistently as ms used to. but before this mangastream did a great job for hxh
-
This was a great episode. While the first arc used Pokemon as an inspirational foundation, this newest arc is more Dragonball-esque. It's reminiscent of the Tenka'ichi Budokai tournament. Gon's opening "push" move especially–that's a direct homage to Goku (in action, anyways--HxH makes it look like a more serious maneuver. Pay attention to how the violence looks in this series). And the Goten / Trunks vibe is definitely supposed to be there. Though I didn't catch the Fist of the North Star reference--nice find, pyromonki.
However, as you may have realized, an oddity pertaining to Gon appeared in this episode. An inkling of something. During his first match, when Gon first pushes his opponent out of the ring, we get this interesting curiosity: Gon looks down at his hand and contemplates his newfound strength. "Was I always this strong before?" It's something new to him. He is in awe of how much his strength has increased. He stares and his mouth contorts into a sort of slight smile in that moment of shock. Gon somewhat likes it. If you remember, he was incredibly humiliated by being forced to confront his weakness in the Fourth Phase against Hisoka. Despite all he suffered throughout the Hunter Exam and despite being a child, Gon only cries when he's insecure about his own strength. Really pay attention to any mention of power and how it pertains to Gon Freecss in this arc.
EDIT: I forgot about one more moment–after Killua decides that they're going to the top floor of Heavens Arena, Gon has an interesting thought.
"Actually, that was my intent from the beginning."Money wasn't the main issue for Gon. Seemingly, it's the act of fighting itself that's more important to him than anything else. Training to get stronger. But for what purpose and why?
-
Man… I've lost track of how many times I have listened to the new ending theme lol.
