I've just become so uninterested in the current story. It's kind of sad. Maybe when the main story picks up again I'll read it again.
Toriko

I thought the guy back in the Mors mountain arc had a humongously tall hat like the G7 people?
-
Eh. May be next chapter will be better.
@They:

He did. It's his outdoors hat.
-
I like this Shuu guy, wonder how tough he is. I'm assuming Toriko's training will take up 3 chapters at least, let's hope they're good then.
-
I'm not liking current Toriko either (at least, not as much as I used to). The whole Ehou Maki has been pretty bland. Imaginative, yes, but bland.
This chapter slightly rised my interest in what may happen, and I won't lie, the prospect of a fight in Toriko after months of no-fighting (except that Toriko vs a bear in the Casino) is reason enough to be hyped for next week.
Yes, I want fights in my Toriko. It needs them.
-
I wonder how Sunny would do in this temple since he's all about appreciating surroundings, music as much as the food.
I'm interested in seeing how this fight turns out. I imagine Toriko will get his ass handed to him before figuring out the method Shuu is using.
And I really liked that they had an explanation for that huge rock and the waterfall. That old man is scary lol.

I've been loving these Toriko mini-arcs without fights. Shows amazing creativity on the part of the mangaka, and it's clear that he's building up to a major "rescue the chefs" normal-shonen arc at the same time.
-
I have the same beef with Toriko atm
It's not that I want strictly fighting, but there hasn't been any real challenging, central conflict in the series for awhile.
So it's getting a little bit boring.I guess this whole "food etiquette" thing might pass for one in the coming chapters, we'll see…
-
Yeah, I'm in the crowd that is just waiting for something violent and manly to happen. Don't get me wrong, all this imaginative stuff is neat, and I'm sure these kind of chapters are what really draw in the kids and thus the sales/rankings, but I think we've spent too long going around doing wacky things, it's time to do something truly badass.
-
Pretty cool chapter. Can't wait for Shuu to showoff attacks Toriko's going to potentially learn. And Toriko gaining new attacks is also something to look foward too.Above master Chin is pretty cool that he has the power to scoop up a mountain.
But yeah, these chapters so far have been a little draggy, the anime probably loves them and can make and episode out of each chapter.
-
Don't get me wrong, Shimabukuro is sure showing great creativity and imagination, but anyways, that wasn't my concern. Even while not fully enjoying it, current Toriko is still a good manga. It's just that during the Jewel Meat, the Ice Hell or the Mellow Cola arcs, it was even on par with One Piece. Even "smaller" arcs like the Ozone Herb, the BB Corn or the first venture into the Gourmet World were impressive. That's why these current events, while not bad, are far from when this manga has gone full throttle and left us with the jaw dropped. But I can wait.
-
I still think that Shimabukuro is just resting up and messing around before actually entering the gourmet world. Considering that there's one more item for Toriko to get on Ichiryuu's list, we're getting pretty close and, from there on out, the story's probably going to be in full swing. The gourmet world is supposed to be nonstop everything can kill you, so it's nice that we get to take a deep breath first.
-
Gettting a malware warning on the reader on kewl's site.
…..Anyone ?
-
Fork, Knife, and now the Spoon of completion lol. Looks like they're almost done powering up for the Gourmet world. Since Toriko is obtaining the Spoon technique, I wonder what Komatsu will get from this…
And I really prefer this type of training to time skips (like one piece's). I like to see the improvement over time and not just think "oh he learned it during the time skip" every time a new technique comes out. Some people like how One piece doesn't show any training but some times I wish it did.

I get it sometimes on my schools computer, but never on my home pc

This latest arc has really been giving me a nostalgic blast. I'm actually liking this more than the current One Piece, not quite by the imaginative/creative aspects, but by the sense of environment. It's not the best, of course, but interesting all the same.
I can't be the only one here thinking that though.
-
I'm personally enjoying these small arcs. Torikos does them so well. Some fighting will be welcomed but this really does feel like the calm before the storm so its all cool. And seriously, this current arc has nothing on Punk Hazard.
-
Guys, i need to find the extras from Toriko volumes, i heard they put information about characters, much like a databook would do. Can someone who has the volumes scan them? Or even better, give me a link of the volumes in english to download?
-
This link has all the extras up to volume 18: http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/71406-Characters-Beast-Ingredients-Data-%28-Gourmet-Hunting-Book%29 They are translated until volume 8.
-
Thanks a lot <<<333
-
I think the more relaxed pace of Toriko's current story is due to the "Storm Brewing" with the Bishokukai kidnapping all the major world chefs and Shimabakuro wants to set us at relative ease before he unleashes the fury of a great battle between the IGO and the Bishokukai. If Ichiryuu and Midora meeting didn't leave a bad taste in your mouth, then it should. Plus, we still have the creepy Jidar Kingdom plot line to deal with. Seeing Master Chin and how ridiculously strong he is just proves that this is only the beginning.
-
…..Still getting the malware warning on both the online reader as well as direct download.
.....Are you positive this is just bs kewl ?

Reported Attack Page!
This web page at www.apiljuce.com has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
Attack pages try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system. Some attack pages intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.
So firefox warns you before opening the online reader now.
Did the website get hacked or something, kewl?
-
There's no malware on the site. No idea why you're getting that, but there isn't any. I checked.
-
It means that the site got reported enough times to firefox in order to make it seem like it has malware in it.
Basically someone sabotaging it on purpose in order to stop traffic.

I saw some pictures of the 2nd crossover OP x Toriko and it seems Zebra appeared. I'm kinda of curious to see how they showed it since it's apparently a clever thing to do (he'll appear in the anime soon). Taking into account that the next anime episode starts the Melk arc, I'd say we have to wait 5 episodes or so to see the introduction of Zebra.
-
I need to catch up with the anime, How has it been transitioning the manga?
-
Just read the authors interview on SJA, apparently he did most of the work on the toriko x one piece crossover, other then that no really cool exciting news as he seems to give very abrupt no descriptive answers compared to the rest, he actually was probably the worst interview he didn't seem to care

-
It sounded like a really crappy interview. I saw screencaps of it. The questions were bad and the answers seemed pretty formulaic and obvious. Nothing interesting in it.
My group's still working on this special, it's long, it's the length of 2 episodes plus One Piece has no OP. And yeah, there's a scene where they stick in Zebra who just for no reason uses an Otodama AAAAALLL the way from Honey Prison. I guess they're implying that the island they're on is close to Honey Prison somehow, and for some odd reason Zebra gives a fuck. And if you're not watching the anime, as always, I highly recommend it. It's doing avery good job doing everything in the manga thorouglhy now with very little filler. It's like I said, most anime based on long-running manga will do the beginning really fast to try to gain readers.

I`m rereading Toriko, and noticed there is a Bubble Fruit in one of the cards on the game against Livebearer

http://www.mangareader.net/toriko/166/9It's coincidence. The bubble fruit in the game was made up by a reader, and it looks different.Plus,it's only 20 points, and the bubble fruit in this arc is super special. In surer not even Shima can keep track if all the ingredients he puts in the manga.
-
Yeah, this is the conclusion i got as well, must be hard to remember all the ingredients the fans suggested him ^u^
-
Still getting the warning Kewl. And Robby said the exact same thing about this stuff before and then bam russian porn !
-
Probably because awa also means 'foam', and this thing and the current Bubble Fruit are might not the same in japanese either. Kewl would maybe correct us.

I just watched the same page on kewl's site, it seemed fine.

The page shouldn't lead to Russian porn, it should lead to Russian Shark

I agree, the anime has been very impressive lately with the adaptions and new music tracks (like the Nitro theme, really creepy but a perfect fit). I have a feeling the Mellow Cola arc will be very enjoyable.
-
I am enjoying the anime a bit more now. I could enjoy it enough that I forgot Tina existed till she popped up again. Since she wasn't lurking during the Ozone veggie arc. The animation can be pretty decent. Music…I can't really remember aside from the beginning and end theme, neither which I really like very much. I'm hoping they have a new opening at some point. But it at least makes me sense to me than the ending Sabrina thingy. It's so weird seeing everyone all sad for whatever reason looking at flowers and stuff...
-
Tina isn't that bad. She's not great, but she's okay.
-

People can say that all they want, but I hate her character because it adds a level of annoying the show didn't need. Komatsu's constant screeches of fear and disbelief are enough lol. She adds nothing positive to the show in my opinion. It would take a ridiculous amount of revamping for me to find her presence acceptable.

Ya man, pls do so… I would really love reading the interviews,,... oh, and i heard there were 1 or 2 video interviews,,,,, isn't there any way around those?.. Would really appreciate it. :)

New chapter is out. And it's pretty great. Love this arc, finally some training without fighting things and messing around.
-
Ok, now that's a completely different thing. Wasn't expecting SUCH a training could come out of this arc!
I love that the setting is almost identical to the Popo vs. Goku one in Dragon Ball: Goku was very strong, to the point he defeated Piccolo, but Popo told him that most of his movements were too wide, and he wasted too much movement and energy when he fought.
It's a shame in DB, Goku's fighting style never really changed at all and all it managed to do was "Ki sensing", but the premise was the same: don't waste so much energy with unnecessary movement and excessive use of power without any control.
It seems in Toriko, it will be actually put to use. -
Yeah I'm glad this "Food Honor" thing turned out to be something useful other than "you gotta respect the food in your mind". And finally Komatsu can learn something useful too.
