Okay I think I love this series.
If you love that just wait. That's only the tip if this iceberg.

Glad to hear.
Also goddamn every time I hit a segment where they eat it makes me unbearably hungry. And it's even worse if I was hungry to begin with.
Looks like a giant sushi falling out from sky on buildings, cars, putting families on streets, trampling people and animals under itself to death, stopping all traffic and blocking railways is seldom, but normal enough stuff in Toriko. So much that noone even touches it, much less moves it.
And I'm happy they started to move to this temple. I would not really like another gathering chapter.
And it's been some time since a bloody battle, hope it happens soon. Toriko needs to show what potato did to him.

I kept salivating continuously for three goddamn days when I first caught up with Toriko about a year ago. It wouldn't stop even when I hit the sack. You're lucky if that's all you get from reading it.
Ordinary food never tasted so bad as when I was reading Toriko.
http://www.apiljuce.com/mangareader/reader/read/toriko/en/20/179/page/8 THIS IS IN NO WAY PHALIC
I rarely feel hunger looking at food drawn by Shimabu. The last time it happened at the alcohol island. I guess 2d food is not my thing.
@No:

Keep telling that to yourself.

It's not even really the illustration as much as the idea of a bunch of guys roaming around and hunting for gourmet food that tastes so good it sends them into orgasms.
I was never attracted to Toriko food. In general I find it disgusting.
The only time I felt that I wanted to be in Toriko's world and eat its food was during Ozone Herb Arc. All those giant juicy vegetables were dazzling.
Well you do have to wonder how something like almomd cabbage can taste like.
I'm still pretty partial to the idea of bacon leaves.

And the electric banana too.
Hey, it's probably what made Livebearer into the…...whatever he is, and besides, he's never said he'd give it up.
That was a pretty cool chapter.
I liked how monchy wrestled the sushi pices. And he was being pretty prophetic to Komastu,I hope Shima does have him again in the future.

I'll tell you what though. No way in Hell am I eating food that a guy with butt acne wrestled with.

Lolz,I noticed that,but I think it's butt hair…
I was more freaked out win he spat the vinegar onto the rice.I don't think that's sanitary

This so much.
The only other narrative that made me want to eat strange foods (no where as near as much or as strange as Toriko, though) was when I was reading the feasts in the Redwall books when I was younger.
I love the manga more and more very chapter. The wrestling part was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time and I can't wait what 10 star cuisine is like in the Toriko world.
Sure, the long normal-shonen-style arcs are good, but these mini adventures are where the mangaka's amazing creativity really shines.
Yes, this. Shimabukuro is one of the rare men that can (perhaps) match Oda in boundless creativity. Toriko only has 179 chapters so far so comparing it to One Piece may not be fair but it's been so good so far and it isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
Like I've mentioned, Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi was a lot like this. That Dodurian Bomb chapter really reminded me of some of his stuff. Basically Takeshi was an adventure manga but incredibly stupid things would happen, coupled with important serious things.
Ah, I should really get to scanlating that…
I want to eat….
the Rainbow Fruit, jewel meat, white apple, platinum lemon,Shining Gourami(fried with mors oil, and seasones with melk stardust).
I want to drink Mellow cola.

I went to a library in my University and I ran by a few issues of Jump from 1997 and 2001. In one of them I found a manga with art style similar to Toriko, and it turned out to be Takeshi. I didn't read the whole chapter but it seemed funny and just as over the top as Toriko. The characters went inside a giant naked guy's ass by the end of the chapter.
By the way, we've already seen the Chef shown at the end of the latest chapter. Back when the "voice" of the bean went out from the first treasure chest:

Ah,Finally the anime gets to the Nitro.
http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j386/SamwizeHimself/Nitro.jpg
Even in the anime…............
Toriko's right arm looks just like a giant pale chicken wing.
Good catch Zp1, looks like she's a young woman.
How the heck can Toriko and Komatsu eat all that sushi? For that matter, how can Monchy make a sushi so high that when it falls, it crosses entire mountain ranges and forests the size of continents in our world? How can Monchy prepare sushi by wrestling the ingredients? How can Toriko and Komatsu eat and savor the sushi that Monchy made with full body contact and even spitting out some of the ingredients?
Why do I not care at all? For some reason, the whole ridiculousness of this chapter was anticipated, and it's fun to read.
Some screencaps of lasts night's episode featuring the Nitro:

Nitro: I'm a nitro, I'm a nitro, suck my dick, I'm a nitro.
Man I loved the anime's coloring of the Nitro looks pretty awesome it's a shame it takes so long for it too be subbed though this series deserves more attention then it gets.
It's much better then other popular series like Bleach, and Fairy tail well at least the manga is the anime censoring Toriko vs Tommyrodd was handled horribly I understand censoring the arm part.
But having them both with absolutely no blood loss whatsoever from what was Toriko's hardest fight of the series is pretty awful and trivializes how much it took out of Toriko to win. /rant
@kewl0210:
I'd like to scanlate through the series with better raws, but I've been trying to finish catching up with Gintama first, which is proving to take forever. Of course, mostly it's because life tends to find ways to delay you from doing the things you want in other ways.
That would be awesome if we could have the earlier versions of Toriko updated to the same quality that the current chapters have, maybe if you guys ever catch up with Gintama.
It could be a like a side project, to do in the meantime between chapters if your not busy.

I am kinda doing it at the same time as the other stuff. Volume 1 is scanned and cleaned, I just need to polish the translations and typset it. All of which takes a long time and I'd have to not do a whole bunch of other stuff to do. Realize, I also am running a fansub in which I'm translating Toriko and Bakuman, and doing weekly Gintama and Toriko manga. Plus checking the Gintama anime for Rumbel, translating HXH which I'm done with, and doing some side projects which are mostly done (Enigma and Kokou no Hito). Though, this is on top of school which takes a lot of time, plus like, having a social life. Also I need to finish the 2nd Gash movie and about 5 volumes of Doubutsu no Kuni to catch up with. Plus, when I'm bored I'll work on side projects which I enjoy doing for fun, and at some point I want to scan/scanlate Takeshi and Ring, as well.
Usually the anime takes a few days because it's coordinated between several people to do the various jobs, and often people get busy, don't show up until a day late, the raw comes late, or some other problem occurs. And most people can only work at one time of day, so if one person isn't there, then we don't have any chance of catching up. Also, the signs and attacks need to be hardcoded to keep the video from slowing down, so someone needs to typset those before the encode which takes like 10 hours.
I just went to mangafox and noticed you scanned the next two chaps of Animal Land. Thanks a bunch!
No, I didn't. Somebody used our translations without permission.
yeah,I just noticed. They used the raw chinese scans.I noticed the quality looked worse then yours.

Wow you are quite busy.
Also I like the new avatar pic. Don't think in all the time I've been on these threads I've seen you with something different before lol.

yeah, I was all "shit fuck who is this who's also doing translations - ohh, I see that familiar sig. okay, everything makes sense again."

Oh wow, you definitely have a ton on your plate I didn't realise you guys were doing both the Anime/manga in addition to all that other stuff.
Looking forward to seeing volume 1 when it's ready to be released.

Oh awesome, I didn't realize how close we were to one of my favorites parts in the manga definitely going to be looking forward to the next couple of episodes.
Toriko #180 Pics Here: Juin Jutsu Team
Finally caught up on this. Gotta say that I really love it and it's been a refreshing read. There's something really pure about fightin' around the world to eat food.
Finished this:
http://hiwamatanoboru.com/2012/03/22/toriko-180-gintama-393-release/
Stuff is happening. Of all the characters that've shown up, we've still yet to see the guy who was in silhouette on the Mors Mountain Range.
Though I guess this one guy was brought up before in the chapter where they broke open the treasure chest.
Thanks as always Kewl .
I'm beginning to see a pattern here. The National Treasures are all small, elderly people?
I don't have many direct run ins with the people who scanslate what I read. Thanks for all the great work, Kewl.
Thank you, Kewl. You're the best!

Thanks kewl !
Cool chapter.I loved the old Japanese/Edo feel. Chiru looks so cool,I hope we can see him cook,or prepare stuff. And Chin being a veteran from the last generation could share some cool history stuff.
Shima is too awesome in making food 'magical' then giving a somewhat logical, pseudo-scientific explanation.
And I think the symbol on their headbands is a loaf of bread with a halo…..
So Kewl, if I am getting this right his name is 3X chin? And in your translator note you say 2X chin is for penis, so effectively he is a Penis Chin?
