You just read the Spoilers and when available the transcripts? Why that??
Uh, well, for me it's faster I get the same information as reading a scan. You can read the script, or the summary, but talk on equal ground with someone who read the chapter. It helps that the characters describe everything so it's pretty easy to picture what's going on.
Those are just my reasons, I'm sure others have different ones (bandwidth, ISPs threatening to shut down computers that share pirated materials, etc.).
In France we support manga, we buy mangas. One Piece volume sell around 100K, one volume of Naruto sell around 150K. People read scans and buy mangas. Yet Viz, for the sake of his money, is annoying every scans readers, and American readers are a small part of it. People dont buy mangas in America so they try to find another way to sell = Alpha shonen jump. But to increase their sell they shut down competitors but everyone had access to their site which isnt the case with Alpha Jump. I know that it will not stop scans to be published, its impossible to prevent it. Still, this move come from America, again.
I don't know if you live in France or not, but if that's true, why not read the French translation? I could understand if you're pissed at Canada and Viz blocking France because so many Canadians speak French, but to my understanding it's English only.
If there's anything the internet has taught me, it's that R1 doesn't care about language that isn't English. YouTube anime subs in Spanish are still up from 2005, for crying out loud.
Are you looking for English scans because there's some infrastructure in France that prevents you from French scans?
