Oh, why then ? I actualy was realy amused, plus you have two of the side characters who haven't realy gotten much screentime, which in Bic Mac's case is due to Hasbro's meddling. Hell he's the brother of one of the main cast, and of another recurring lead character and even Granny Smith already got an episode centered round her. Plus, while he did say more stuff this episode then usual, thank goodness, I preffered when he actualy said whole sentences when he showed up back in season 1.
You know what sort of got to me, in a minor yet annoying fashion ? When Apple Bloom was talking to the whole main cast about their cutie marks, after asking her sister she opts to ask a bunch of one off acquaitances instead of her own brother. In fact, I don't remember them exchanging a single line of dialogue ever.
I'm not sure I can explain. It was just…
! Well, it was good and I enjoyed it, I admit that. I loved how Big Mac got more attention and how the crusaders acted like nice little children. I loved how Twilight just gave them the book meanwhile she was reading it.
However, the main plot seemed to be, well, not very well thought. Love poiton/poison, meh. I'd preferred if the crusaders tried something else. Magic is nice and all, but it's the easy way of creating a problem which has to be solved.
Then, came the solution which was both nice and not so nice. Nice part: the crusaders had to keep the lovers separated. Not so nice part: make the lovers not look in each others eyes to "cure" the "sickness". I felt it was weak.
! On the other hand, the interaction (while not being under the effect of the poison) between Cheerlilee and Mac was sweet. I also liked the song.
! Overall, it wasn't a bad episode and it certainly wasn't the worst. However, it wasn't outstanding either.
