Thanks. Here's the rest.
Alot of these are shitty(whatever, I learn anyway), but my favorite has to be Syde Kick.

These are so awesome, especially for something written on line paper.
I wouldn't even know how to do that kd;laghkal
These kind of make me wish Synful Syn was a video game.
@Cuddles:
These are so awesome, especially for something written on line paper.
Paper is paper. I drew on my notes while I was in school… now that I'm away from school... a notebook is another sketch pad :D
I wouldn't even know how to do that kd;laghkal
How to do what?
Whatever it is, I think you would know how.

]
I was planning to be a game designer at one point… But.. life.
Note that all these animations are based off things I keep in my memory... be it playing a certian game and obverving every nook and detial TOO damned much, or... wait.. there's nothing else. Star Ocean ftw.
Another one. Based off Vertical Air Raid(Air Raid).
How to do what?
Whatever it is, I think you would know how.
Make animations using lined paper (or any sort of paper that wasn't see-through–). I obsess over proportions, so whenever I try to animate using paper, I always go OCD and I can never make any sort of animation since it takes me too long to get from point A to point B.
jdka;ghalh
Oooh, another one! gah
I see. Okay. Then try this.
lightly draw a bunch of stick figures doing a certain movement. Then fill in the details one at a time. (like all heads, all hands, all ect). To see the animation before you scan, you.. shift your eyes around.. like real fast.
Okay, this is weird advice. The best you can do is to get used to attempting without transparency. Being assisted is good, but when it comes to practice… absolute perfection should not matter much unless you are going for something finished. Also... look at how people, animals and objects move and go "wow! I gotta draw that specific moment real quick! Lemmie take out a piece of paper and do it in 4 minutes!".
Then it's up to you if you want to see how you managed to make it work in PS.
I dunno about doing it in PS (since this computer doesn't have it, lol) but I'll try to do that. Animating with paper has always been annoying, but I think your advice'll help me. Thanks!
Speaking of video games, I am totally planning to (….eventually <__< ) do a Synful crossover with a certain video game. No points for guessing which. :ninja: Hmm... I really want to learn how to draw varying poses, though. I feel like this particular idea would work better if the characters are not merely standing. I rarely have characters do much else besides stand. Hiroy and/or Sai-chan, you're good artists. Tell me the secret!! Or just maybe tell me where's a good place to get good references for poses? I tend to be kind of lazy and I always struggled with proportions and never wanted to take the time to start from basic circles and lines, but you always manage to bring life to your characters so wonderfully. What's your creative process for trying out new poses or angles? I swear to god I had another question, but for the life of me I can't remember atm. Design perhaps?
I have to admit, teaching what I learned his hard… because I'm still learning myself. I'm also planning on getting the animation textbook that Invader Zim director Steve Ressel made to see what basics I can learn.
Well… a lot of my pics from years ago were just of hermaphrodites standing around, which got me annoyed, so I tried to get creative. Like, one arm up in the air, one leg out, one leg in, one arm cradling the stomach... or maybe a person doing a handstand, or a flying kick, or danny floating around/flying superman like something. Running, crouching, suddenly stopping, really happy, really sad… Take a good look at people in motion, and especially their body language. Every little detail (a look here, a sideways turn there, a stiff shoulder there, a smile here...) counts.
Did that help?

Hmmm… This is a tough cookie to answer... I'll come to it once I've rested up.
Just answer me this. Do you have a strong drive to do so? What's important is having the motivation to improve. That's the secret.
I… don't know. I want to improve, but I'm no artist. It feels like such a daunting task to further improve my current style. Nothing makes me cringe quite like old drawings. Looking back, I realize that I have improved, but it took years and that wasn't even me practicing a technique, that was just what happened. I was always trying to imitate other art styles. I went from trying to drawing realistic to chibi style. Part of me still wishes I could draw normally proportioned characters as well. I know that you guys didn't just suddenly become great overnight, but it seems like I always set the bar too high and want to achieve results right away even though I know that there's so much effort and time involved in the creative process.
Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, Hiroy. I got you the gift of getting off my ass and finally proofreading everything. Whee, walls of text, go!
! Part 15-1
I’m off to actually do my job, “Captain”!
2nd Panel
"You do have experience with animals, right farm boy?" – the second speech bubble looks a little odd because “right” is floating off to the side too much, so it's a little awkward to read.
"Look here, Evi!!" "but one of these days, I swear" – exclamation looks a little cut off
“You hear something?”
15-2
Squeal
"Embarrassing"
[…] this hallway, cadet?
? – in the bottom panel, first bubble, make question mark more distinct
[…] punishment, commander.
16-1
"Yo, Todd."
"She’s in second grade, and she suddenly makes captain of the hall squad!!" – the last word looks really confusing. I couldn’t tell what you wanted to write for a second. Make the "D" more clear. I personally think “grade and suddenly makes” helps this sentence flow more.
16-2
[…] punishment, bastards
“Off you go, Todd. Shoo.”
"Tongue"
17-1
"I already told you, Leo!"
"Just leave it to me, okay?"
"Why hello, Mr. King!" - I can't remember if I commented on this, but if so I forgot; I just wanted to say I love the name you chose for the principal. I didn't remember reading his name plate before.
17-2
"You are a wonderful student with high academic performance, but you are usually late."
"We can arrange conferences as well as transport if there are issues."
18-1
Okay, this isn’t really a mistake, but the non-uniformly-shaped dots in the first panel speech bubble do bug me.
"A lot" - two words
"His actions are questionable but not worth looking into."
"We got other prospects." - grammatically speaking "got" should be "have"
Like Evi, for instance?
Fascinating student […]
18-2
"See you around Cadet Leo." – my first impulse says to put a comma after “around” but I don’t think you actually need it here. I think.
19-1
"My leads have drawn me towards this strange fellow."
19-2
"No one knows what it is, aside from those fortunate enough to quality and the higher ups."
20-1
"Instead I waited here." – don’t think you need a comma after "instead"
"Skipping class again, girl?"
21-1
Lights Off – tbh, I rarely ever pay attention to the titles when I read, but you have an unnecessary apostrophe here. I really should, though; since you seem to have a knack for coming up with a clever little title for each strip.
"Case in point: my brother."
22-1
"You did this just now, didn’t you?"
"I don’t, Miss Kimbee!"
"Shut up, Todd!!"
23-1
"Maybe then you would man up with a proper review!!" - just a rule of thumb, but try to limit exclamation marks to two, unless you're making a really strong emphasis on something.
23-2
"Oh, Evi!"
"That is so badly drawn; I cannot tell what it is."
"Well, it used to be a nightmare, but I’ve gotten used to it. It’s me in some ruin, trapped in a room with some dumb riddle." - The comma is necessary here to avoid confusion. without the comma it sounds like the ruin is what's trapped, not Syn.
"This is where I attempted to solve the riddle and got crushed to death!"
24-1
"You would probably laugh anyway!"
24-2
"I, Evilyn."
25-1
"We’re even!!" - sentence flow
"Just give me a minute, okay!?"
26-1
"Shut up, Dab!!" – spacing
26-2
Sfx are hard to read here
"Finally done with all that tedious work!!"
32
"Wait!!"
"Just pretend I’m not here, o-o-okay?!"
"The “Emo Group” is usually never here on Fridays, so…"
33
2nd panel
"Really?" - missing an "L"
"I understand" – Your “N” looks upside down…..
"A woman with a voice, dammit!"
35
“Don’t you like seeing yourself like this” or “Do you not like seeing yourself like this” both work, not sure which way you were aiming for.
Stop that, “you.” - I sometimes have a bit of difficulty telling whether you're putting punctuation on the inside or outside, but in this case, I believe it goes on the inside.
37
"I needed to cry about stuff, too…"
"Your face is cool, too! I bet you have a wide variety of faces!!"
"We are friends now, right?"
an “I.” - again, I'm almost confident it's inside. sometimes it gets confusing, I know.
"Nice to meet ya, Tia!!"
Phew. Anyway, hopefully I didn't make any of my own errors while looking through. Commas can be so confusing sometimes.
edit:
well technically, I got you the gift of continuing to sit on my ass and finally proofreading, but you get the point.
What? Editing? On Christmas? Go in vacation girl. I can't have you up in my office doing work!
Hahah! Thanks alot mari. You have given me extra work to do once this job is over. And you know how much I like working on this comic :) Speaking of which… Here's some cavities. I could not finish all of them on time, but I'll release them over the course of 4 days. There's 20 planned panels and 5 panels per release. Here's the first 5.

Makes me wanna draw Syn hugging Leo or something. But I don't think she'd do that. xD
It's not done yet, so cross your fingers on it.
I'm sure the wait will be worth it~
Good luck~
Silent comics are really good. Can't wait to see the others.
I think my favorite would have to be the middle panel, both for the look and for actually having a tad bit of suspense.
Since I just wasted my time looking for these, I'll share these here instead of AP Awards thing. I quit. Being a participant, and an event mod. I swear. I can't do either of those things right without bickering.
http://edyics.eecafe.net/avas/
No comics today. Sorry for the delay. I just haven't been managing this time very well… like you have seen.
damn, Hiroy, you scared me for a second there. thought you were talking about something else entirely. It's kind of unbelievable how awkward and emotional it can get sometimes over an awards thing. Of course, I figured saying something over that one category constitutes as being against the rules. All I can hope for is that it doesn't win. At this point there's only one category I want to nominate for. I half-wonder if anyone else will pick it or if I'm truly the only one who still thinks about it at all.
I'm just tired of wasting my time on the thing. Came home from work. So many other things that I could have been doing. And then what? I waste my time looking for avatars after there has been a concern about the shortage. I really do like the category, and I wanted to help. But then what? The category got closed as soon I was done showing what I found. I guess this is what I get for being stuck with this damned schedule. Whatever.
There's another thing, but all those posts were deleted… so in all... big waste of my free time. I honestly thought I was doing my job and trying to keep the peace, but all people care about is making a rise and blowing up a huge shitstorm. I should have just deleted those posts instead of thinking my words were worth anything. Surely that's what mods do to handle all their damned problems anyway. Always taking it easy. Always leaving a problem for it inflate again(yeah, I'm sure they don't PM their concerns either).
I dunno. I just hate being powerless, so I'm not going to bother dealing with it.... only on ONE condition though.
Sorry for the rant. This is probably the only vent thread I got left.
yeah it's fine. This is your thread after all, and we're always here to listen.
I know what you mean… I hate never being able to do or say something to change things. Concerning more sensitive subjects, I tend to keep quiet and watch it. Sometimes it's frustrating knowing that there's nothing that can be done. From time to time, I'm reminded of how I'm still a new person who doesn't understand why certain fights happen. Plus, I don't want to side with the wrong people without knowing what I'm doing, so even though I wish people argued less, my words wouldn't affect the outcome.
holy crap it's been ages since I've been in here. So much cool new stuff to comment on! Damn you life for keeping me unnaturally busy! D:
Well, I just gotta say that I'm all caught up on SS and dude, so good. Loving the style and hey - animated panels! That's awesome. And your animation skills are continuously improving as well. Your art just keep getting better, Hiroy! Mad respect! ^^

It's been ages since you been HERE actually. Not just in here. Hehehe! I know how it is girl. Don't fret.
And it's funny that you I'm improving in animation when I've only just started. Okay… maybe I made some GIFs before, but I never really intended those to have animation. And thanks. I have a bunch of ideas for animation and animated comic panels. Look forward to them.

Sometimes you just gotta go with your best feeling and not really care which side you do end up on. Not speaking up is usually the thing that keeps a problem going. I mean, the only reason why nasty trends persist is because one person isn't brave enough to put him or herself out there. Which is fine. Sometimes one side of coin needs a leader, or someone that can make them have the courage speak up.
That's one of the roles I've taken up recently. While it's frustrating, I've decided that I'd gladly put myself out there for the sakes of defending or helping someone else ^^ I've proven my worth on this a few times already, even if I never actually thought about it.
Also, I didn't forget about writing you up the advice. I just need about on hour to gather up those thoughts for you. You have the motivation to improve and I'd like you help if you are willing.

Work has been so boring. I just want to go back to comics.
fffffffff
those backgrounds. I want to draw them so well.
I hope your days at work will be better, Hiroy. c:
It's not going to get better until it's over, but I'm managing. I have too much time to force myself to practice, and I'm drastically improving at a scary rate. Seriously. I've made 3 months of progress O_O
Maybe it's a case of 'distance makes the heart grow fonder,' only 'distance makes the artist practice like crazy due to hours of being forced to do stuff other than draw'?
Well, good luck then. Just think of it as a test or a challenge. ;)
Are those kids on the first page from Homestuck? For some reason they sort of have that feel to them. Though I haven't gotten far in the series (end of act 3 or something). I like 'em all. Omg, Liu with her hair in pigtails.
Yeah. They don't show up till Act 6. Basically they are the guardians as kids. I didn't get the hairstyles or the symbols right since I had no computer to look it up though… so call it an interpretation... or me missing Homestuck at work... which is... pretty sad.
Also. Liu with ribbons and pigtails looked pretty nice for some reason. I'm not sure if they look right for you guys... so I'm leaving that design decision up to you people. There's other design changes for her, but I'll need to draw a whole body thing to make it more clear.
Maybe it's a case of 'distance makes the heart grow fonder,' only 'distance makes the artist practice like crazy due to hours of being forced to do stuff other than draw'?

You make it sound like I'm married to the idea of drawing.
Man, this is totally why I'll never settle down with anyone or even make an attempt at settling down.
I'm kidding, but yeah. I'll think of it that way. I'm a believer of things happening for a reason anyway.
Hmm~ Liu with her hair in pigtails is undeniably cute, but personally it kinda feels a bit out of character for her. I just can't picture her as that type to style her hair that way (or at all really). Maybe when she was younger, that could have been the case. Just my two cents.
Alright. I'll take that into consideration and do another rework. I definately want something to do with a couple of ribbons in there. Sorta like Mystery Incorparated Velma, but not exactly as the design looks much like her anyway.
Alright. I have 30 minutes.
For mari. You don't need to be a serious artist or have any goals to be exceptionally well if you want to improve. I've said this few times to others that were interested in drawing, and is passing on this on to you. The secret to improving is basics. It sounds really simple, but that's pretty much it. Once you are aware of basics, you can considerably build upon that… even though won't quite understand or fully grasp the idea at first.
Completely unrelated, but there's this manga called Ikki Tousen. Terrible manga, but it has one character I'll use for an example. His nickname is Ton and while he's not he best fighter, he fights exceptionally well. Why? Because he obsesses over basics or how important basics are. He's even criticized other fighters for copying moves they have seen in movies. Now for another example I've used with one of my other buddies(formally KingOfSaurus). Getting into art is like picking up a game for the first time. Using a fighting game for example, you would probably start it by mashing buttons and hoping for good results. Soon, you would then go into Practice Mode, see what moves the character has, and then you would do about practicing to pull it off perfectly. Once you do, you are then better at the game. But does this mean you are an expert? No.
While you can pull off sweet moves and combos, you'd then think of how well your skills would fare against other players that have devoted their lives into fighting games. It takes alot of effort and time to be a pro in such games.
That said, basics are basics. Seek them out. Try to practice them, even if you don't get it... Simply being aware of basics is what helps you improve. Before, I never understood what perspective was. It honestly looked like a bunch of mess to me... but later on started noticing things while practicing and I even recalled several things I thought was gibberish before. It was satisfying honestly.
Now where should you start to seek out basics? There's many paths and none are right or wrong. Mine all started from Andrew Loomis's artbooks. They are free to download, so check them out. The books read out like a college professor... There's alot of stuff you may not understand, and heck.. sometimes the author allows you to make mistakes on purpose. But the core of learning through the books is being aware of the numerous amount of basics. Once you are aware, you can apply this to drawing and even observation or the way you see things... It's hard to explain, and I hope you can experience it.
And with that, there's my advice to you.
Thank you, Hiroy. I'll definitely check out the art books at some point.
Okay. I edited pages 1-9 and then 11-15 of Synful Syn today. Some art edits too, but I doubt anyone would notice them XD
Anyway, I'm working on a special side project. It's another gag series I'll do alongside Synful Syn(whever it starts agian… assuming March maybe : /). You know? Those little mini comics with persona of my AP friends? Yeah. That! I wrote a few and even made some character designs. Will upload them tonight.
Can't wait .

I just finished rereading Sinful Syn too. I can't wait for more. You did say you've edited some pages though, so I'll wait until those are posted before I bring up any errors I noticed. Keep up the good work!
goes to draw
Glad to be actually helpful for something :) If you ever need any hints or just want to talk about drawing/stuff, you can always AIM at me.
Here's the designs so far. Left out a few since there were either too much or I didn't write any stories for them. Sizes are also inconsistant. I was kinda just scribbling them through work before the ideas faded in my head.

IC workshop means Item Creation Workshop. It's a term from the Star Ocean games. It's a feature where you start a workshop in an abandoned building, open up facilities, hire inventors and create items. You see, while I'm obviously going to do most of the work on this, I thought it would be cool if this thing grows into a collaborative thing. Where there's a team that works on gathering story ideas(each comic is self contained), some that works on on animated gifs(yes, there would be animated stuff), and other little stuff. It could be fun, but that's just a vision.
As for the style… Hmmm. It's obviously random and silly humor that's either made up on the spot or satire of AP. But it's not always the case here. Sometimes it may be sentimental or not funny at all due to characters talking about a real issue...(like Boondocks) but those are only limited people I really know.
Cuddles is simply adorable and stylish. I want a plushie.
As soon as I get a Buggy and Danny plushie, I'm getting a Cuddles plushie.
I see we are already making revenue for merchandise.
I really like the girl in the "goofy" puffy hat next to the guy with the over size pencil? Anyways the one in the skirt and dice shirt is cute. All I'm sayin'.
I lost it at Christos.

I called dibs on Christos on Facebook Kitsune :P
@Steven: Yeah, that's Mokenda. With a Bearsy hat. And the guy girl with stylus is taboo.
@you two: Christos kinda takes dibs on everyone.
I don't think Chrissie minds sharing. :3
